correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage
Silent Film replied to INTRUSO_BR's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have noticed that when AI goes for landing, he can become invincible. I have just had such a case, didn't want to wait to upload to You Tube just for that purpose, but I followed a damaged Dora who was going for landing. Some 30 seconds before landing, I have put tons of ammo into him from a close range with my Mustang, but he just continued landing normally. I know that I can't destroy AI while he is on the ground, and I suppose it was done on purpose, can't understand why though. Is it possible that "landing invincible AI mode" could be turned on much before the actual landing? I think that might be the case. Damaged AI goes for landing, I hit him multiple times, but he is in some invincible landing mode, maybe even minutes before the actual landing, and so my hits are ineffective? -

correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage
Silent Film replied to INTRUSO_BR's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yesterday, I have tried to test it once again, and maybe I have actually come to something. I had a short dogfight with Dora, and after it was destroyed, it just kept on flying, but backwards, very strange. It is obviously some bug or glitch. Maybe something similar was happening sometimes before, but the program wouldn't tell the aircraft was destroyed, and it just kept flying forwards, no matter how much I kept hitting it. correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage
Silent Film replied to INTRUSO_BR's topic in Bugs and Problems
Like I said, I have tried it once again today, and it seemed better. Although, I have never had such good results like in that video. But sometimes, it was so annoying, like Fw 190 A-8 just wouldn't die. If I encounter with that situation once again, I will post a video replay. -

I have seen a real Mustang pilot interview in which he said that those six .50 machine guns would cut Bf 109s wing like a saw, and I definitely can't see that in DCS. -

I have tried once again today, and now it seems much better. Maybe something was improved, or it was just my impression, anyways thanks. -
correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage

I have noticed the same, I have set a mission with a P-51D against lowest skill Fw 190 A-8, and I just keep hitting him and hitting him from behind from a very close range, and he just keeps flying and flying. Then he sets on fire, and still keeps flying and flying. Until finally goes down. But when I tried a Bf 109 K-4 against a P-51D, just few hits from its 13mm machine guns set the P-51D on fire immediatelly and he went straight down. Maybe if those German 13mm were explosive ammo, and American .50 cal was not explosive, maybe that would make the difference, but I still feel that the P-51D's bullets are underpowered. -
Before, it was like, when I start video replay, and don't touch anything, it replays the same views I used while flying. And if I use some view command during the replay, then I override the views, and can create some new views during the replay. But now, when I start video replay, it just gives me the cockpit view, and won't replay the views I was using while flying. Is there any option I can get the replay of the flight exactly as I was viewing it while flying? I want to record that genuine flight experience.

In the beginning, I was trimming the pitch in Mustang just for landing, but now I don't bother to trim Mustang at all. If I want to fly it in a straight line, I just need to stabilize the stick, and with some speed it just goes straight by itself. Thunderbolt is another story, I trim the rudder for take off, like it is automatically trimmed in hot start, and I also must trim the pitch just a little bit to bring the nose more up when flying around. But I don't recommend pitch trim in Thunderbolt for dogfight, because that way it becomes even more unstable in turning and jumps too quickly when I pull the stick.

Sorry for bothering you once again, this livery is my little project and my baby. I have done some changes once again, and this is a third version. Second version brought a leather WWII helmet for the pilot and few minor changes. Third version removed camo scheme which I thought was too colorful and unrealistic, and brought a basic olive green color, which looked more realistic and even more elegant to me, although it's a fictional skin, and also I have made the black color on the nose a bit darker. This time, I didn't upload completely new skin like I did previously, I have figured out I just needed to replace the file. I'm still learning about the DCS. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3314834/

Which module of the second world war? Thank you
Silent Film replied to Ravent's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Both are difficult in their own way. P-47 gives me headaches, because of it being so heavy and turning so quickly, I am actually not sure whether it's realistic that P-47 turns so tightly, looses the speed to quickly in turn or climb, and also the gun sight is positioned too low. On the other hand, P-51 is much lighter, you can maintain high speed more easily, you can climb, but turning is a bit tricky, you must learn how to do it, but it's got superior gun sight. So I would definitely recommend P-51. -
planes that you would like to see in DCS?

Biplanes! Of course. Nieuport XI Bébé in the first place. -
Multiple aircraft variants and input config files
Silent Film replied to DimSim's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Why to introduce the "30" model anyways, it just got two antennas instead of one. The same with the P-47, why three variants, when the "40" variant is the best, and the other two bring nothing useful. -
Yes, actually, it would be nice, plus a Mustang livery contest.

[NO BUG] "G" and "W" control assignments missing
Silent Film replied to Silent Film's topic in Resolved Bugs
I did it, and after that I once again needed to assign keyboard bindings for landing gear "G" and wheel brakes "W", as well as all custom bindings too. But I am still not confident that something is not missing, to be honest. -

Ah, so "Saved Games > DCS > Config > Input > M-2000C". Thank you! -
[NO BUG] "G" and "W" control assignments missing
Silent Film replied to Silent Film's topic in Resolved Bugs
I suppose that's in "Mods > aircraft > M-2000C > Input > M-2000C" folder? Do I have to delete only keyboard bindings, or from all five folders? And what about that "name.lua" file, to delete everything? -
[NO BUG] "G" and "W" control assignments missing
Silent Film replied to Silent Film's topic in Resolved Bugs
What does that mean, I should delete all keyboard control bindings, and then new ones will appear? -
I wasn't flying the Mirage for a week or so. Today, when I took off, the landing gear wouldn't go up when I pressed "G". I thought it was because of some damage to the aircraft, so I decided to land. Then the wheel brakes wouldn't work when I pressed "W". I asked the ground crew for repair, but it wasn't needed. Then I decided to check the controls, and I discovered that the landing gear toggle control "G" assignment was missing, and also the wheel brakes control "W" assignment was missing. I have added them both, and now the landing gear and the wheel brakes are working once again. I can't possibly tell what caused the problem, but there might also be some other control assignments that are missing as well.

Actually, there is always a difference of around 13 degrees. For example, if I want a FOV of 60, I need to set the FOV to 48.5. After I quit the mission, and then start it again, I will have FOV 60, but if I reset the cockpit view to normal, I will have 48.5 FOV. Accordingly, the Mustang for example starts with FOV 94.1, but when I reset the cockpit view to normal, then I get FOV 80. The Mirage starts with FOV 78.4, but when I reset the cockpit view to normal, it becomes 65.
-
I have set F1 cockpit FOV for all 4 planes that I own to be 60 just like in the F2 plane view. But when I start a mission, the F1 cockpit FOVs are 72.9 or 73 instead of 60. Is FOV 72.9 the most possible zoom in from cockpit? Or is it some glitch or bug?

Yeah, I just wanted to suggest Adriatic map.
-
Oh, then they should really update texture template, but to keep the same layout, so that we could just paste the same layers into new files.
-
Mustang texture template is from 2012, and it still works.
