  5. Mission will be uploaded after public testing. Announcement for Public Testing will come soon.
  6. Dear Pilots, Ground Commanders and Friends, I am happy to introduce to you the NEW PvP MISSION/CAMPAIGN that will be available on the 104th DEDICATED SERVER. After months of hard work, we wanted to bring to the DCS WORLD Community a mission/campaign that is based on a real ongoing conflict. The project started as a Single Player Campaign for F-16/Mi-24/AH-64 (when released). Later, I decided to make it a representation of Real Life Situation because Cyprus is still considered as an Active Conflict. So, for the beginning, it will start as a Multiplayer Mission and later evolve into a Multiplayer Campaign. At the same time, the Single Player Campaign Project will continue in 2022. This Mission will feature a limited number of aircraft, helicopters, weapons and fuel quantities. To preserve realism, aircraft will have no pre-programmed waypoints, and Bullseyes are set on the main EWR of each side. The reason for no waypoints is that each pilot needs to input the desired waypoints depending on the mission. This mission/campaign requires coordination of all pilots and ground commanders to maximize the effectiveness in battle and achieve desirable results. Each side has its advantages and disadvantages. Both sides can use airports in Cyprus for refueling and rearming; you can also disable the airports by bombing runways or key airport structures (fuel and ammo storage). Civilian Airports like Ercan and Larnaka have only fuel, the rest airports have a small amount of ammo and fuel. SITUATION Why CYPRUS? Forcibly partitioned by the Turks in 1974, Cyprus is split into two zones, one Greek (59%) and one Turkish (37%), which are separated by a United Nations buffer zone (4%). The “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” has been declared by the United Nations as “legally invalid” and is recognized only by Turkey. The Greek Cypriot Zone is an independent sovereign republic and a member of the European Union and United Nations. Its closest ally is Greece, which, in the event of further Turkish aggression, has promised full military support under the terms of the Joint Defense Doctrine agreement. The Turkish army in northern Cyprus maintains a state of high alert and full readiness, and support from mainland Turkey is on standby. The Turkish Air Force regularly violates Cypriot airspace by flying over the capital, Nicosia. In an attempt to improve its defensive capability, Cyprus had purchased the Russian S-300 air defense missile system at an estimated cost of half a billion dollars. Turkey threatened to attack Cyprus if the defense system is deployed. The crisis effectively ended in December 1998 with the decision of the Cypriot government to transfer the S-300 to Crete, in exchange for alternative weapons and support from Greece. The most recent chapters in this conflict include discovery of huge natural gas reserves in the eastern Mediterranean and political shifts in countries bordering the area; these developments sparked a new escalation between Turkey and its neighbors, namely Greece and Cyprus in 2020. Today tensions in the area are still high, and, despite efforts of key International players, it is proving difficult to return to a more constructive relationship. OBJECTIVES BLUE BULLSEYE: Troodos RADAR Station RED BULLSEYE: Adana RADAR station The victory conditions for each side are the same - capture the enemy cities and airfields OR destroy all ground forces. Each side has helicopter deployment areas from which they can resupply friendly airports with ammo and fuel. From the ports you can resupply your airfield with ammo, fuel and utilities. Refineries and Ammo supplies can only supply fuel, and ammo, respectively. [This feature will be available in a later version of EAST MED CONFLICT – THE CYPRUS CAMPAIGN.] CONVOYS Each side also has convoys to support their troops on the island. These assets can be attacked in order to prevent the arrival of reinforcements. The BLUE side has only one convoy that starts from the Port of Haifa, Israel with direction to Limassol Port. When the convoy reaches the area of Limassol Port, it will spawn the following units: 12x MERKAVA TANK and 12x M1A2 ABRAMS The RED side has two convoys that start from the Port of Tasucu, Turkey with one heading to Pentamili/Yesiltepe Beach, West of Kyrenia and the second convoy heading to Dipkarpaz beachhead. When convoys reach appropriate areas, they will spawn the following units: 12x LEOPARD 2 A4 TANK for Pentamili/Yesiltepe Beach and 12x LEOPARD 2 A4 TANK for Dipkarpaz beach. CAPTURE ZONES & SUPPLY ZONES On the island there are urban areas that need to be captured and protected from enemy forces. There are Ports that can provide Fuel, Ammo and Logistics in the battlefield. The ports may also be captured, so be careful. Also there are Ammo Storage that provide weapons for the air assets. From the Oil Refineries you can supply your airports with fuel. In the following pictures you will see the areas of cities, ports, ammo storage and oil refinery & storage that need to be captured and to be defended.
