  2. I'd say the best realistic way to avoid being hit by a 120 ( not dodge )- is to do a 180 and climb the veer while climbing. Works for me with almost everything. I'd like to see you doing barrel rolls til you "dodged" 1 or 2 120's IRL- you'd black out or puke all over the place.
  3. Where is the 104TH server?? Its not in the list.
  4. If this is basically still considered the Modern Air Combat simulator- then I would think that they will be adding a mordern day fighter. Like the F-35 JSF.
  5. Diffently would be good for recovering down pilots. If this helo was introduced into DCS for rescue and recovery missions it would totally make this sim the sim of all sims. Before I joined the Army I actually joined the Navy- and was going to be going to school to become a Sea Apache pilot. At that time there was no Sea Apache, but they were planning on putting them on battleships or Cruisers I think. At anyrate- I joined the Army instead.
  6. I don't think the Cobra would be able to match up against the BS. The Cobra's fire control systems are kind of out dated I believe. Thats why the Apache was born. And i don't think putting a F-111 in this sim would be realistic. Its a totally different platform.
  7. My thoughts exactly. But I do realize that the A-10 in DCS is going to be a lot different then the A-10 in FC2-as far as the cockpit immersion and procedures. Dont get me wrong, I'm still excited about the A-10 aswell...:pilotfly:

  9. If thats what our maps were set up with. It kind of seems that way, but then wouldn't our enemies have are positions. Doesn't matter we were on a freq. hop radio. But I was issued maps as well as everyone else and as you know a 9 digit cord. is more accurate than a 6 digit...
  10. I would like to see some sort of comms with the troops on the ground. I know when I was in the Service- on an M1A1- we had comms with Apaches and A-10s. I would personally give 6-9 digit cord. to exactly where the bad guys were, that is if we couldn't laze and blaze them. And the A-10s were close enough to see a thumbs up from them..................awesome.

  12. I image the co-pilot will be AI just like your wingman. I am very eager to fly an Apache in this sim. I never did the LB deal. I think it would diffently be a great addition to this sim.
  13. I found this interesting. We- or I kind of skimmed on this idea in a thread a week or so ago. Right around the 2:00 mark he says it, listen for it. I like this plan better.
  14. I took it the same way as you. When I went to install it it took three times to finally install- after going unresponsive a few times. Now its installed and running fine over 1.0.1.
  15. I'm just going off of what I have experienced in the service. And we will see what happens. I didn't mean to derail anybodies opinions of this- just wondering how its going to play out- and keep it realistic at the same time.
  16. If I'm RTB'ing and I come across a helo- its toast, the BS is no match at all to a Fast Mover. Even if the FM is unarmed, it can just out manuever it and be gone. I'm just wondering why ED doesn't release another helo counterpart DCS before moving on to FM'ers- then concentrate on all the FM'ers. Don't get me wrong- I'm all about the A-10, I just think it would have been more efficient. I just don't see how in MP that helos and FM'ers could be in combat all at once unless there are triggers set to make one team achieve air-superiority allowing them to deploy helos. Or else it will just be a waste of equipment- manpower- money..... Unless there are two separate theaters of combat on the same server leaving the FM'ers out of fuel before they reach the helo combat airspace................ Just thinking out loud.:huh:
  17. I would think that another chopper would come into play like the Apache- I think that would be a better head to head deal then the A-10. But thats just me. The BS is no match up against the A-10- as I'm thinking as far as MP mode- the 104th has slots set up as most of us know already- so I'm going to get in my F-15 and smoke a bunch of helo-heads, to easy- Theres other things that have to happen before choppers are used in combat and I believe air superiority has to be evident before helos are even used. Fixed wing escorts for helos isn't realistic.
  18. Hey guys- I was flying online in the 104TH War-Zone last night. Normally when I take off I'll hit the Alt-Hold and the auto-stab til I get to speed and to when I want to start a sweep. Normally it works fine, but all of a sudden it doesn't work as it did before. Now I have to trim because if I let go of the stick it dives bad- before it didn't do that that drastically. All my keys are defualt for the autopilot keys so I know its not that. And I know it isn't the patch because it was fine after installing it. What is going on?? Is there wind effecting it or what?? Same for the A-10- I don't know if it is the same for SP.
  19. I flew before and after the new meshes were added. I don't see a difference. I think it might have to do with system specs. The only time I lag is when I first spawn for the first time until the world is drawn- then no lag whats so ever.
  20. I'd like to know how I could get ahold of the map that is in game- so I can print it out the way I want to- Do I have to decompile some lua file?? if so where do I get the app and what file is it?

  22. Great Job on the Map. I was wondering- How would any of us get the images to create our own map. As it is in the game with all the detail, like buildings and such.
