Yes, making that edit in server.lua will affect the FOV of all aircraft you fly, single and multiplayer. Keep in mind you have to edit it every time a new patch comes out tho. :)

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\View\server.lua Edit Line 21 to: CameraViewAngleLimits = {20.000000,110.000000}, This will get rid of the fisheye and allow for a more realistic "stop" when using the zoom out.. This is the setting I use. You can fine tune to your liking form there.

Same here. Are the green waypoint buttons supposed to light up like in the SU25A? I have been using the kneeboard and F10 to navigate.. Shouldn't there be something in the cockpit that shows the at least the waypoint and time to go?

Suggestion: Option to disable marking yourself on kneeboard map
Rider1 replied to stray cat's topic in DCS Wishlist
Why not just not use the marking function or just delete the key command so you aren't tempted to use it? -

One of the Russian devs Chitz? posted on the RU forums and it was translated and posted somewhere on here. Don't know if it is higher up in this thread or not.. Anyways, the post basically said SU27 AFM will not be released till the fall.

That was really outstanding support right there, Cobra. My pods and I thank you.

These are not ongoing bugs. These were released in a broken state in the last patch, 129. No issues in 128.

Bug report: The textures on the Russian rockets pods appear to be broken in the 129 update. They looked like rocket pods in 128 version. See screen shot. Any idea when we can expect a hot fix this? Thanks

Sorry Sith, my comments were not directed at you, but ED as an entity. And I should probably eject before I get ban hammered.

From Rangers post #1: What is the Quality Control process for a release candidate (update) to the community? Who decides which bugs are priority and which are not? How does the process involving the ED Test team work? Do the programmers and leaders of the community understand how crippling some of the bugs introduced in the latest patches have effected the community and custom missions That's exactly what I am getting at. How does a patch that ruins hours of hard work by mission designers and cripple the gameplay for DCS consumers get released in that broken state? My opinion and mine only. I personally can think of only 2 scenarios. 1. That the testers and QA people completely missed this bug. 2. Testers and QA reported the bug to ED, and some entity at ED decided that it would be OK release it in this broken state. Neither of these are acceptable, really. So the questions then are can we expect a fix for this anytime soon?. Is it on EDs radar as critical issue? Can we expect a hot patch of some sort soon?

Umm too much Tom Clancy I would imagine. But I was just pondering things while mopping floors. But it would be cool if ED had a compartmented group of Russians working in top secret on simulators for the DOD. Hmm F35 touch screen simulator...

Unless you have source for this, it is meaningless too. :)

Here is my wild ass theory that I came up with while cleaning my house. :) May be way off base, but it is probable. ED has been, and is a developer for military grade training aids and simulators. These government contracts are very lucrative and may be EDs bread and butter. ED cannot afford to have bugs and issues in the software deliverable to defense agencies. I can't really see some student on an AC130 trainer saying to his superior, "I have tried everything by procedure and the gun ready light just will not light up. The contractor keeps telling us that they are aware of the issue and will release a patch to fix it "When It Is Done." Beings that ED has a good working relationship and reputation with the US military and others, I would suspect that these contracts would require a nearly perfect deliverable, if not, ED might find themselves not winning bids for new lucrative government contracts.. So, it is my personal opinion, from various postings here and other websites, the developers that work on these government projects also work on the video game DCS world. We have also heard time and again that ED is a small company with a small group of developers.. The obvious solution is to ramp up production by adding more qualified developers to the team.. However, it may be tough to find and hire qualified developers in Russia that could obtain whatever security clearances are required by the US and others. Some things may be classified, and even though Russia is no longer our enemy, they are not our buddies. Security would be a concern for sure. So ED gets a defense contract and it is all hands on deck, with DCSW on the back burner, until time allows for bug fixes and new features to continue. (Lets get it out there while we have the time. We broke some things, but we will have to revisit these issues as time permits.) So, do you think it would be a true statement to say that ED is/has become a government defense contractor first, and a video game developer as time permits?

So it seems like it is mosty human resources problem then?

For example, how do things like the RWR lights being broken on the SU25 a few patches ago get past testing and QA? If anyone in QA would have jumped in the Rook and taken a test flight it would be immediately obvious that they were not working.. Having no idea where the threats that were locking you up was a pretty big deal for us that fly it exclusively.. Why was it released in this broken state and why did it take 2 patches before it was fixed? The ECM lights and IR jammer lights on the 25 T have been broken since the 6dof cockpit release was well. You would think that a free jet to entice customers into the DCS World would be a top priority..

+1 Seems like every patch usually screws up something that was previously working fine is my biggest frustration. ED has had what, 6 years so since the release of the very first A10C beta to get the Bug/QA/Testing process to where it needs to be. I have a feeling that this is as good as it is going to get. To me it feels like DCS is a side project to EDs commercial and military projects, to be worked on as man power and time permits. Ranger, sorry about your missions. I can only imagine how much time and effort it took to create them. :( I enjoyed playing the Suse missions and serving them to our group. Most of the multiplayer community missions that I served up have been broken as well.

Works a charm, thanks!

"Charlie don't surf." :) I think I would like a Huey for Christmas please.

Cool, thanks man. May have been mission specific.

Can anyone let me know if they are not getting any indication on the RWR that the gear is tracking lasers aimed at you from enemy tanks and such? Or could it be that tanks are no longer lasing jets? I flew a mission on the Firehouse Server and was engaging a horde of tanks on a hillside and the laser warning gear didn't get up a single hit to it, and the tanks were firing up at me pretty good... Thanks

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Rider1 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi Peter P. As requested per above: Here are screen shots taken in order at: 20, 100 5, 100 1,100 Can you see what I mean now? :) The zoom out parameters work just fine, but my zoom in appears to be locked at 20... I have no clue.
