Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Rider1 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Sorry A10C Easy East Georgia Spring. I have the stock 126 server lua in the main game dir, unedited. And your edited file in my saved games view dir. Saving snap views is checked. I have not done a repair or reinstal of this latest 126 DL. No other mods installed that would affect view. -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Rider1 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
OK, Peter. No Joy. I used the server.lua from the Proper Neck 126-1 rar, put it in my saved games view dir and changed just this: --/////////////////////////////////////// Global Pilot View parameters - Start - PeterP //////////////////////////////// local GlobalEyePoint = {0.16, 0.1, 0.0} -- {front/back , up/down , left/right} <- 'neck dimension' in meters local GlobalCameraViewAngleLimits = {5,100} -- {min horiz. FOV in °, max horiz. FOV in °} <- aka Zoom local GlobalCameraAngleLimits = {190,-75,115} -- {Max head turning to back, max down , max up} <- in ° local GlobalShoulderSize = 0.15 -- move body when azimuth value more then 90 degrees local GlobalShoulderSize_for_not_full_3D_Cockpit = 0 -- 0 = OFF - set to > GlobalShoulderSize = 0.15 or 0.2 < to turn it ON in the non fully 3D cockpits of FC3. Keep in mind that the 2D seat texture will look strange. --/////////////////////////////////////// Global Pilot View parameters - End - PeterP ////////////////////////////////// And it still does not change my zoom in and out FOV. :( I am using the instant action easy mission and using the num pad key buttons to test. I have been making this lua change in every version since early standalone A10.. What am I missing?? -

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck

Peter P, thanks for the reply! It is good to know that it is working for someone. Let me revert everything back to stock view folders and make the edit again. Will let you know how it goes. -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Rider1 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I have deleted the view folder in the program dir, and put the view folder from a few backups ago in my saved games dir, checked the server.lua for correct values (5 and 100 for me) and still no luck. Where is this setting controlled from now??? This is so very much pissing me off. -
Yes someone please help. I have been spent a few hours trying to fix this. I do not think that this function: CameraViewAngleLimits = {5.000000,100.000000} is controlled by any file in the config/view folder anymore. Calling Dr. Peter P, stat! :) I really need this function to work again. Old eyes and a small monitor, that extra 15 degrees of zoom in helps tremendously.

Anybody figure out how to change FOV in the new patch?
Rider1 replied to Spitfire2170's topic in View System
yes, the server lua is not using my FOV zoom in out either.. -
Going to give up :( thx for the non existing support from ED
Rider1 replied to Newspeedy's topic in Game Performance
To get rid of the FPS loss at low level, try this Go to: Bazar/Effects/PFX and then high, medium or low depending on which setting you're using (or just do all three) and rename this file: smokecloud.pfx To: smokecloudOLD.pfx (Or back it up somewhere just in case, then delete it.) Now run the game and see if that brings your frame rate back up to normal at low level.. -
To turn the air brake volume back up, go to: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\ PlaneSpeedbrakeWind.sdef Edit line 8 in NotePad++ to: gain = 2.5 Then do the same for: PlaneSpeedbrakeWindIn.sdef Edit line 5 to read: gain = 2.75 That should do it. The flaps volume controls should be in the files in the same location. Flapsin.sdef, etc. Play with the gain in those files to get the flap volume where you like it.

Standalone A10 C had wingtip vortices. They did not cause any FPS loss that I can remember. Not sure why we had to lose those in World. Same with the tinted front cockpit. But we got cluster bombs, rockets that now slide show the game. World is like CLOD in reverse. Every single update comes with FPS hits. Seriously how fun can it be to fire the mini gun on the Huey at 5 FPS? (It's no fun looking at it out the window of the A10 on multiplayer either) At this point ANYTHING that can be done for performance would certainly be a relief.

Man this brings a some new life back into the game for me. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to bring this amazing cockpit to us.

G forces head movement too extreme in cockpit
Rider1 replied to eFirehawk's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Assuming you have Enable G Forces checked, you can make adjustments to it in view.lua 66. head_roll_shaking = true 67. head_roll_shaking_max = 3.0 68. head_roll_shaking_compensation_gain = 0.1 This is what I a have mine set at. Your virtual head floats around just enough to take the edge off, and have some movement, without being too sloppy. Play with this in notepad ++ and see if this is what you are looking for. -
This is by far your finest work and the best looking cockpit that has ever been created for any DCS aircraft for sure.. This old cockpit will make my jet feel like new again. :)

Thanks!

What does this mean? Anyone know what was not working with it in multiplayer? A-10C RWR works in the MP now.
-
What is this 25 meg folder, filled with duplicate files in there for? Did the test work? :) C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Effects\Jfx\Textures\test

Contrails - still a huge FPS hit in mass scenarios (with tracks)
Rider1 replied to Megagoth1702's topic in Game Performance
Yep same here. Didn't we go thru all this several patches ago? -
So what if you are a single ship? What if you are playing multiplayer on a public server and you are single ship. Tonight I had 6 mavs, 3 S6 spikes on my RWR, and 2 Black sharks that were trying to get in that area but were getting hammered by the SAMs. So I set up a nice orbit and found the first one.. 6 mavs later it still was not killed.. so what's the tactic.. Eject and get in a new plane and haul 6 more mavs out? and repeat? Nah... You just quit the game out of futility.

Here are your binocs, Eno.. Go here: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View in view.lua, do this: Line 135 CameraViewAngleLimits[A_10A] = {5.0, 100.0} And that's it. :)

Thanks, fellas. Glad it is working out for you!

How do You Guys Access Multiplayer Servers?
Rider1 replied to MonsterZero's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
And also make sure you are using Internet in the Connection Type dropdown. (Not lan or history) -
