  1. zarga, that would be known as the "OMFG !" pilot instability handle. It will fold out automatically when your chopper is in an uncontrollable spin, you've gone inverted and you cant recover, you hit your wing man while your in fingertip with him, or gravity has the power over your AC.
  2. Cali, I know just how you feel. Talk about a jump in improvement. I went from this, a Gateway 840 GM (specs here). Although I did improve it with more ram and an ASUS 8800GT. I built the one in my sig 18 months ago and I ended up with the EVGA GTX570. This setup scream's @ 4.5 Ghz. At the time the card was best bang for the buck. But may upgrade soon for more vram. And that 670 seems the way to go.
  3. my opinion... Best bang for your buck http://www.obutto.com/flightsim.html
  4. I never really timed it myself. but this prompted me to do so. On the SP quick mission for the F-15c. From the very first click to start the game till i was in the pit was a measly 21 seconds. SSD's are great for loading times aren't they
  5. been poking around the web a bit. And to me it seems the price of the warthog has gone up ever so slightly. The 2 cheapest are Amazon and of all places "Walmart". Here in the US. Both @ $429.00 USD. All others seem to be above $500.00. Is it me ?
  6. If it will make you feel better. Do the math for my truck. Each week its approx. 30 to 33 gallons @ $ 3.80 a gallon. Thats just for work. If i do anything extra Groceries, hardware store, moms house, etc. its more. So i know exactly how you feel...
  7. without going into details. Tried it. I'ts not worth the time, effort or trying to save money just cause I had two extra PSU's lying around.
  8. If your one of the lucky guys that has a wife or GF that likes to fly as much as you do. You have a warthog but she doesn't and wants one, Amazon has what she wants. Unfortunately its out of stock right now. But when more are in you can get her what she deserves !!! Here's the link for those who want to keep a watch for when more are in... http://www.amazon.com/Hotas-Warthog-Flight-Stick/dp/B005LRGCMW/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1331496276&sr=8-11 (p.s.) yea I know I'm gonna get yelled at for this but I couldn't resist. :joystick:
  9. thx EthereaIN. I was always curious about it.
  10. altho a good kill. not a big deal against AI.
  11. Ok I need to split my vote between 40-50 and 50-60. soi i haven't entered the poll yet.
  12. Chinaiyf, take a look @ the sigs of myself, Krebs20, and cichlidfan as far as putting a system together. and take a look around the forums. You just might see a little bit of a pattern of what a decent system might contain !!!
  13. I still use the stock case fans in the 932. The heat-sink and fan for the CPU I use is the Thermalright Silver arrow. There are only two top of the line air cooler's out there. This is one of them. My temps are about 24 Celsius @ Idle and when running DCS have never gone above 50 Celsius.
  14. The data I'm referring to comes from using MSI Afterburner. I know it's not the most accurate but I'm using it. Card is at stock speeds. GPU % is avg. 96. And memory usage is @ 1240 to 1245 MB max. FPS fluctuates between 48 to 60. V sync on and full screen. This is in DCS A10-C. Graphics setting on high, civ. traffic on med., 1920 X 1080, CP is 1024 every frame, MSAA @ 8XQ, but HDR is off (I dont like it), Mirrors on, Heat Blur ON. I am not complaining at all and the sim runs smooth as silk for me. It's all more out of curiosity than anything.
  15. Glad you like the card. I'll do a test track over the weekend. And PM it to you. I'd like to see just how much of a difference there is. As of right now I run all I can at max settings. @ 1920 X 1080. The card I have now does not max out but its close. Thx for the reply on the card. And I'm sure you'll have good luck with it.
  16. appropriate comment
  17. Please let me know about that card. As I currently run the 1.28 GB version. And I am considering selling it to upgrade it for the 2.5 GB version. I would have bought the 2.5 but it wasnt out when I built my PC 9 months ago.
  18. The only way I know of to do this is to cycle through them. But as you do you need to call for an inbound at each one to find which base it references. A pain in the arse but I believe its the only way. Even though your radio will call that specific base the ILS is tuned to, they will not return a call if your more than 30Nm out from the base. If less than 30Nm out they will give you vectors to final for the given RW.
  19. There's nothing wrong with the stock cooler that comes with the 2600K. Why not use that, save up some money, then get what you really want. I can give you 100 suggestion's. But it really is dependent upon how much your willing to part with. As almost any aftermarket cooler is better than stock, once a given price point is reached.
  20. Let me rephrase that.. It "WILL" make you smile ! I have boot times from a cold start of under 30 seconds. Easily! Loading times for FC2 and DCS A10-C are insanely fast, even compared to my 500 GB Caviar Black.
  21. Imagine if this could be integrated to be used within the ME's of FC3 and DCS A10-C.
