  1. This is where I do multiple passes on a MSTA, have to learn a better burst technique :)
  2. Yeah I really think it's dependent on your settings. I tend to go with some sort of "average" settings so I'm happy so far with the FPS I do get, which I honestly don't know, but no need to concern myself since as said, is good enough :D
  3. Actually it's supposed to show the internal tinting that I did :D If you look forward, and then to the left of the cockpit frame, you'll see it's not tinted, just compare that to a normal cockpit reflection (it's great for day missions, but night it makes it slightly difficult to see, but it's managable) and you'll notice the difference. Well I got a lot of modded files from previous installations, mods, etc. I have to get back home and double check the files but the file should be modded. As for the file structure, the CDDS are the "master" textures of course. Generally they're programmed to accept a certain size, i.e. like... 512 x 512 with the original Su-33 textures for example. Unfortunately at the time I should have buckled down with 1024 x 1024 but that's a skeleton that slipped out of the closet. So the thing with the "TempTextures" folder is that you can substitute modded files while keeping your install "clean". I.e. for example, the skin size I'm comfortable with now is 1024 x 1024 so I can only (or any skin mods for that matter) put them in the TempTextures directory. The original 512 x 512 file is in there. The CDDS Browser will allow you to extract the files, and in some cases, insert new ones, given that the file you're inserting is the same resolution, i.e. 512 x 512 can only go in there for a 512 x 512 file. Plus it allows ED to sometimes replace jacked up textures (the original cockpit reflection file was just shatty) without always having to make another CDDS file for it. Or in most cases, it's a test area for some times, because as said, you can substitute without replacing the original files. Oh yeah when using this procedure, you must HAVE THE EXACT FILENAME or it won't work. LOMAC sees the TempTexture at some point, and says "Okay, we'll use this texture in lieu of the original" And looking at the old 512 x 512 skins for the Su-33, again I'll at this point kick myself in the butt.
  4. Actually it is pretty cool, too bad I don't have any reference photos handy but looking good ;)
  5. hehe given the US capability in this area, doesn't sound too surprising :)
  6. It would be nice, then you'd have to model the old ASAT program and other assorted stuff. But it does sound great, though I would think landing at a FARP and reloading weapons on a helo is more logical and would be easier. But if they add it to aircraft, then so be it :D
  7. It's snow, you have to have the slider all the way to the right to have a full overcast, but any lower and you'll have a "clear" day with snowfall. That is of course, you have the Seasonal pack installed as well.
  8. Thanks :), I use some modded textures taken from the F-16 canopy and used a hex editor to use the textures just for the Su-33. As for the lighting? I have it set for "all planar" or just that I have a good video card. And it reminded me of something else too:
  9. Fun with the wingnut:
  10. Caucascus Tour: Cont...
  11. Thanks :)
  12. lol apparently I havent :D
  13. As for compression... I figure it's easier with a zip file (it's like 4.5MB without it) and so far haven't found it to be honest with you. Updated though with IguanaKing's help with using LGBs on the A-10.
  14. The F-117A was never designed to have chaff/flare dispensers, mainly rely on IR and radar suppression. So basically the thought was it didn't need it in the first place. I could be wrong as I too never have been near a -117A, but seems logical from the smoothness of it's exterior. As for the Yugoslavia shootdown, it was theorized that it was a combination of an SA-3 and the TAMARA radar, which was designed with anti-stealth properties, since a normal radar disgregards non-radar returns, while TAMARA turns those non-returns into a radar contact. I believe it was the Czech Republic made that, and for them to join NATO, they had to not sell them on the open market. More than likely Russia got a hold of one, or however many by whatever means. Supposedly the S-300s marketing adverts is that it can shoot down cruise missiles, so maybe it's skeptical given real world knowledge (or lack of), but that's probably why they can splash F-117s in LOMAC. And the only way to get the S-300 is to fly below 25m and get within it's 1.5km minimum range ;), or fly real high and dive on top of it.
  15. Damn you all beat me to the punch...
  16. Su-25T as well, and I've done that for the Su-33, though I had to make the nomera.tga file transparent so it doesn't show up: And a non-modded Su-30: As Alfa says, the rendering looks more "realistic" since obviously, national markings are painted on the aircraft and not a seperate thing. Note on the Su-30 how the Stars stay the same, while the rest of the rendering does it's thing. IMO directly painted on makes the skin look better too.
