  1. To each their own, but I think at the moment FSx probably is the perfect sim. It just takes a lot of tweaking but once it's working right it's incredible.
  2. Yeah if we're talking default FSX absolutely, FSX on its own is a joke. But with good addons (and I find it hard to talk about FSX without talking about a standard addon loaded FSX) then it's the best by far. Ahead of everything out there.
  3. I've tried the new X-Plane and it's not great. In a few years no doubt but FSX has many years ahead of it yet, people are onluy now beginning to reach its potential. See these addons...You can make FSX an incredible experience.. Active Sky 2012 Ground Environment X Ultimate Terrain X Real Environment X Ultimate Traffic 2 A few UK2000/Flytampa/Aerosoft airports And of course, the king of fsx... PMDG Boeing 737.. There is no comparison on the commercial market - it's expensive, but you cannot beat it. To put it into perspective, the NGX comes with about 6500 pages of manual...Sound professional enough? :)
  4. Just saw this is coming out this month, our sims are advanced as they've ever been and it seems there is more and more interest in them! I ate my words today after realising how much ED are doing to push DCS forward - amazing time to be flying :D
  5. Can they morph into a ROBOT?
  6. Hey guys, Just had an email telling me the new Ivybridge CPU is in stock here. I've had a google but can't find any solid benchmarks versus the Sandybridge 2500k! Anyone know how this compares?? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-407-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=567
  7. Hi mate, I have been thinking about getting the MD11! Also, I am running Home Premium windows 7 64 and the FS2crew works flawlessly! You dont need to upgrade :)
  8. And if so, does anybody have the new FS2CREW for the NGX? Got it today and it's absolutely amazing! Highly recommended :D
  9. Also disagree here I think. NGX + good addons + FS2crew + VATSIM with a good virtual airline pretty much blows everything else out of the water
  10. I think some addons are - the NGX 737 falls within 5% of all boeing published figures!
  11. The only thing better than this would be to see them fully restored and to allow some of them to be flown by PPL holding members of the public!
  12. Nobody seriously injured though cause of emergency currently unknown! Looks like the Virgin cabin crew need a little more training though... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-17730154

Cheers Ethereal :) do you enjoy it as much as powered flight? Will try to get some pics up when I head out.....
  14. Excellent :D The Carenado aircraft gave me the best FPS! I think my best experience in FSX was with the Carenado Skymaster in HD...That was incredible :) (sorry btw, still havent had a chance to get online!)
  15. What's the FPS like on the VRS Superbug? I mean, with the NGX FSX runs at about 25fps max with microjitters frequently on a large number of rigs, which surely can't make for particularly engaging combat! That said I'd presume the VRS is easier on the FPS and you'd probably also turn AI traffic off?? There will be some absolutely incredible scenarios using the WHOLE WORLD!!! as terrain...Wow

This is something I've struggled to work out! I mean, a winch launch = about £8 here which gives (according to the club) about 6 mins flight time, when you add in hire fees you're looking at close to PPL costs per hour. Maybe I'm getting this wrong though..
  17. Looks to me like it got caught in the jet wash of an F15 in front causing a spin stall, then the pilot ejected but afaik the guy in the back seat broke his neck on the canopy :/ Then the aircraft crashed into the sea.

Amazing pics :) Going to try to book some lessons for next weekend!
  19. Brilliant :D
  20. Easy to win arguments when you can just delete the other peoples points huh? ;) morons
  21. Indeed, arguing opinions about the development of a flight simulator on PC has proven rather dangerous. Excuse me whilst I go and translate the skills learnt here to racism and sexual assault.... Nice one on a huge exaggeration.
  22. Why, are all the moderators with little to no knowledge of the business world going to gang up on me and repeat points that would be laughed at in a board room? There's a reason you're full time mods and not in business, that much is clear ;)
  23. I think they had to as a result of lack of competition ;)
  24. No, non committal and inability to work to deadlines is why we never get updates! If they could work to deadlines like a reasonable company, we'd get reliable updates. It's nothing to do with my attitude, though the thought that I am responsible is amusing.
  25. I've been on these forums ages and, generally, most of my contributions have been positive :joystick:
