Hello all, The Mirage F1 is one of the cold war modules I fly the most, however I had an issue with the textures as I felt that they were too flat and pixelated. thus I took it upon myself to redo the textures as best I can. this is still very WIP but the list of improvements and work left to do can be seen below. in the meantime here are a few WIP images. This work is done in a more general fashion then my usual liveries in the hopes that I can provide a template in the end for users to create their own liveries with the new textures, the camos and the lines are the same from the original template provided by Aergas but heavily modified, while the labels have not been modified. Enjoy~ List of Improvements: Entirely New Roughmets to give the aircraft depth and detail Entirely New Normal maps (possibly in 8k if storage space permits) to remove the pixelated lines and add, depth detail and realism Entirely New Weathering which includes oil leaks, panel wear, and paint wear integrated with the Roughmet Heavily modified Panels and rivets to remove the pixels around the panels and reduce the strength to something that is more comparable to real life List of WIP items that need to be completed: Removal of seams and other errors Underside weathering Horizantal stab. weathering + RMs Improve normals, especially on the fuselage Apply changes to other variants (EE, BE) Here are some images and comparison gifs: Comparison GIFs Ingame Screenshots:

I am not sure about ED's position as a company, or the rest of the community's opinion. However in my humble opinion custom liveries are an essential part of this game and locking them out for any reason is not a good idea. I know there were quite a few people who were excited to make liveries for the newly released models only to then be disapointed with the reality. if this is the future from now on then I'd be very disappointed in ED. (I think that sometimes we as a community can be too hard on ED, however this time I think the criticism is fair, and while the wording may be harsh, I think that is coming from the language barrier present rather then any malicious intent) I think in the future having an avenue of communication with the skinning community (weather that be through the Livery Art Group Discord or some other forum such as a channel on the official discord) would allow ED to incorporate the best of what people are creating for this game, while acknowledging the effort put in to such work.

Agreed, the encryption of the recent AI model enhancements and the decisions of liveries included in game, while excluding others is very discouraging to some of the people who put in dozens, if not hundreds of hours of work into making this game more enjoyable for all of us. I hope ED can consider at the very least adding liveries that are created in excellent quality from users such as Texac, Roughmaster, and Crash among others. Among others, not including roughmets in the B-17 competition, excluding excellent creators from inclusion in the game, encrypting the models which were recently released, issues in the templates and textures. ignoring requests for normals on older models.

Hello @Wags, I have an Egyptian F-16 livery posted on the userfiles, it is static bort but could easily be modified to be with dynamic bort numbers with your cooperation. The livery features custom weathering, labels, and bort numbers here are some of the images and the userfile link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3321815/

I agree, the seas right now are quite bland and missing a lot of the color that is present in real life.

Agreed, also the JBR area with Ain Dubai, it's a very important region imo especially since it's one of the most visible areas while flying off the coast, the attached image is from the MSFS scenery by inibuilds.

Hello, it just recently came to my attention that Almaza AB just south of Cairo INTL is missing from the Map, along with the aviation museum that accompanies it. It should be in this dirt strip just south of the Cairo INTL

Yep, quite weird as it's not even disputed territory.

I am afraid not, I lost my PSDs for a private version of the template that contained massive updates to the weathering and roughmets.

DCS: WWII Assets Pack - B-17G Livery Competition
Kerbo 416 replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Agreed, this competition seems quite illogical considering the textures are out of date and there seems to be no indication of improving the textures -

can't you do the fast alignment? -
MiG-15 was also used by Egypt, but I believe most of those were retired by '67. you've also got the Mi-8, Mirage V (VSN), MiG-23 (limited use in Egypt)

Trying to find references for it, but there aren't enough that clearly show the camo

Hello, a common Egyptian modification on their early Migs, were launch rails for the Sakr 78mm rockets, a locally developed version of the Orelikon rockets. It is is difficult to find images of Egyptian MiG-15s, yet alone with Sakrs, but here are a few I managed to find,a s well as a color profile by Tom Cooper and a few images on MiG-17s
