  1. I think it sounds like a good idea, although it'd probably just mean I talk rubbish ALL the time instead of just sporadically throughout the day
  2. Anyone ever tried translating puns or word-play? My god it's annoying to try! Usually the translation makes no sense, even though the original makes perfect sense.
  3. Panda walks into a bar, orders a pie, devours it, fires a gun at the barman, then walks out. Eats, shoots & leaves.
  4. You couldn't activate Black Shark on Steam if it was bought in another manner.
  5. Much as it's derided, Call of Duty often features a prominent British main character or two... of course always working with the Americans.
  6. Epic Steam sales are always in order as far as I'm concerned, but the last one hurt my wallet! Epic Steam sale when I had no money the previous year, and was 1 week away from building a new PC...dangerous stuff!
  7. I think that remains to be seen Smudooo. It wasn't possible with Black Shark, so whilst that doesn't rule anything out, I wouldn't hold out much hope. I just realised that buying it on Steam would be a bad thing for me. My Steamapps reside on my HDD, but DCS currently resides on my SSD (although any further modules won't have room unless I upgrade that)
  8. The game looks great, but I can't stand that particular trailer. I find that the cuts betewen shots are far, far too short.
  9. I think the worst thing in English is the pronounciation. Languages like German and Finnish are much easier from that standpoint, as the letters themselves tell you how to pronounce something. Arguably "fish" could be spelled "ghoti". There's also the problem of the difference between UK and US English. I would write "colour" for example.
  10. If it appears soon on steam I'll be all like "damn I'd love it on Steam". Then I'll go and fly it and feel better because their DRM isn't too bad and I've got it here anyway :D
  11. how much of an impact does this setting have on performance, and what part of the system does it hit hardest?
  12. it is 6G and it's on my HDD...just haven't tried it yet.
  13. Switching the brain to something more familiar than the operation of an A10C. I haven't even R'd TFM yet!
  14. pull, pool, Pool board (various meanings), bored(also various meanings), boar, bore their, there, they're hear, here, Some things must be really tricky for non-native speakers. (actually those are some I get annoyed at seeing from native speakers when they can't get it right, along with then/than and effect/affect) edit: the section in brackets is a prime example of fairly poorly written English!
  15. Streichholzschachtelchen was always a favourite of mine. Not too long, but hard to pronounce. How about Rundfunkgebuehrenabwicklungskonto Gotta love compound nouns.
  16. Maybe in the next module...or ArmA II
  17. It looks more complicated set out that way than I realised. Don't all languages have that issue, though? I remember struggling with things like that in French and German. It took me ages to learn the subjonctif and Konjunktiv, which represent almost dead tenses in English.
  18. Yup Edit: what he said
  19. I've never noticed us having more tenses than any other language, unless we go into the Scots dialect. "You'll can do that later" A few of my Finnish friends really struggle with our prepositions though. Edit: we're all cunning linguists here eh?
  20. Try simultaneous interpreting from German to English, now that's awkward. German frequently favours longer sentences than English, and has far stricter grammatical conventions. Frequently the verb in German must go at the end of the sentence, where it must come much earlier in English. There are occasions where an interpreter would have to say the verb in the target lnaguage before it's been said in the source language. I really wish I'd finished the same degree I'd started. If I had, that might've been my job. English has a lot of awkward colloquialisms, but so do many languages. We've also got a lot of irregularities due to the amount of English that has its origins in other world languages. I don't understand how some people can say if one language is "better" than another, unless speakers of either language are unable to properly communicate due to limitations of the language itself.
  21. Thanks for the explanation. To rearrange the shelves, I'd have to buy extra copies and put them there! I'll stick to word of mouth, and seeding when I'm on the PC and not using the bandwidth. the torrent is on a different HDD to the sim itself, so that shouldn't affect access times.
  22. Wasn't sure if it was private or not. That's why i Said "try":D Didn't realise that wouln't help in any way. Ah well. Buying further licences would be the way to go then, but it's all moot, as I don't have the money anyway. I have GBP0.52 more than the price to pre-order Cliffs Of Dover currently sitting in my account, so there's no room for an extra DCS licence :D I'll just have to rave about it to my friends and on other forums in the hope that they will buy it:D
  23. I remember the taxi instructions in Flight Unlimited II. They were very useful for an ignoramus like me.
  24. I found $60 fairly pricey, I'll admit that, but that's because I'm on a very limited budged. I do think it makes some sense for what you get. If I had plenty money, rather than buying multiple copies, I think I'd probably try to purchase a few ED shares. I feel no particular loyalty to ED, but really like what I've seen them do so far. I'd invest in other sim producing companies (provided there's something of a track record and desire to continue) as I don't want the genre to die.
  25. @TDBONE1 It's clear this isn't for you. Each to their own and all that. If you haven't bought it then ED owe you nothing. If you have, they owe you nothing more than you've bought. From what I can see, many of your comments are misguided. People here don't seem easily enough angered for continued trolling to have much of an effect. I hope you find the sim that fits all of your requirements. I'll carry on enjoying the ones I have.
