The patch is a separate download. It works brilliantly in W7 64 (although Black Shark has no 64 bit .exe) The only thing I'd suggest is not to install it in either of the Program Files folders.

A fine example of the "PC Master Race"

I only really want to try the demo to have a look at the engine. I love the SP of crysis, but don't really fancy the MP much. If Crysis 2 is more of the same, then so be it.

The best thing for learning any language is to converse in real terms with native speakers. Did wonders for my French and German when I was at uni.

time to see how much Crysis 2 taxes this system :D

I think StrongHarm created a mission designed to see how much the sim challenges the user's hardware. There was both a day and a night version. Here's a little mention of it http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1112313&postcount=3 And here's the mission itself. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66755 Gah! sniped!

Okay, I'm getting better at this. However, if I had infinite fuel and munitions I'd be fine. I'm encountering real problems landing, particularly at a FARP. Any tips, or is it time to revisit documentation?

Any A2A mods for the BS?
Rusty_M replied to Henchman14's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Well it ain't love but it is (simulated) war @ luza, I can understand people asking for it. People mod games/sims all the time to make it do what they want or what they think it should do. Some people want this sim to have air to air weapons. All it takes is for someone with both the desire and the know-how to implement it. I have neither. I can see it happening by way of a mod, but I don't imagine ED would implement them into the sim itself unless the KA-50 started carrying them in service. Good luck in finding what you're looking for. -
I can second the point about the landing mission. I just did it for the first time tonight.

I don't know, or really look at, code! I just try to use the software. It does remind me of something I read about Battle of Britain II Wings of Victory. You can get the AI to have text near the plane saying what technique it's performing. One of them is "Screw you guys, I'm going home"
-
really? I thought it was to do with the cheap keyboard, and an unfortunate incident involving Irn-Bru! Edit: my brain was not engaged last night. I must have been tired from all the sim-learning. I only now realise you were talking about BS and not my messed up keyboard!

If a game is very successful, it's much more likely to get a sequel (unless the main characters' names are Kane and/or Lynch)! I want sequels (ie new modules) for DCS!

I'm so glad I didn't respond straight away. I was going to answer English. And that was going to be a true genuine answer!

$60 is a bit expensive IMO. But that was the price and I wanted to play, so I made my choice, and saved a bit. There's not much point debating the price on a forum. The price was set for a reason, whether correctly or not. Unfortunately, haggling is unlikely to work on this scale.

I....I....I don't believe it. When I first bought this I was totally overwhelmed. I read and read and read again the "how to take off and blow stuff up" tutorial. I finally managed to get some control of the heli and got the weapons employment pretty much down. Feels fantastic! It's a shame communication is a little stymied by my lack of a working F7 key. That was one of the best moments in gaming! Now to re-learn the start up procedure. And to learn more about the shark and the A10 :D I'm in a great mood tonight! One thing though. How do you turn the HUD back to a more nav friendly mode after having used the weapons?

from videos i've seen, I'd say so

Kudos, congratulations and a little bit of jealousy from me! It's something I'd love to do, and I'm thinking about putting 25% of my money towards it once I'm married. That should hopefully get me one hour of lessons per week. Although I'd have to do it whilst holding down a full time job. Currently I'm on a front desk banking position, with little to no hope of internal promotion (hence the jealousy). I wish you all the best Conure.

wouldn't need a piddle pouch (or whatever it is you guys call that thing)

As you said, using things like the ministick for slew control would have to be done using the SST as far as I can tell. Also, I think that JackBauer's profile uses the "mode" switch on the stick, and the scroll wheel on the throttle. AFAIK those would have to be set in SST as well.

That post wasn't so pointless. Black Shark is great. I just need to take the time to learn it, and some other sims. It's taking longer than I thought it would, but I've only been getting back into sims for the past 9 months. It was very daunting at first. Now it's not daunting, but I know i've a lot to learn about all of these sims. Black shark included. I keep flying for a while before having my rotors collide. I must learn to be more patient.

Status Report: Slowly getting the hang of this beast
Rusty_M replied to apoll's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That's a really good idea, Carney! I did the startup training the other day, and decided to go for a fly about afterwards (hadn't even set up controls). Took off (without permission) and just gave it a whirl. I noticed on a nearby airfield that there are some targets. I blew up a couple of trucks. When trying to strafe a tank, I overdid it, and destroyed the tank with the fuselage of the A10 instead of the cannon. I think there's a lot of room for improvement there! -

I'm in no rush...I just think it's kinda funny that I went for almost 100 pages going "huh"? Then I go and play IL2 or BoB or RoF, as although I wouldn't say those are easier per se. They're less complicated. With those I can get in the air, and just fly, shoot and miss! -

This sim is going to take forever to learn! There's a reason I've barely actually used it. I'm still reading the manual. I just read the CDU section last night. Almost 100 pages of stuff I don't understand. I realise that it'll probably be more understandable after reading the "flight school" section and also once I have learned enough to know why I need to know everything the CDU can do!
