  2. Did you spill a drink on them in flight? You may need to disassemble it...unless they use those annoying anti tamper screws.
  3. How about the near miss asteroid 2012 EG5 that will be making an appearance on April 2nd? EG5 was discovered within the last 24 hours, and is expected to pass around 0.7 LD from Earth (in the 100,000 mile range). NASA was expected to make an announcement regarding the asteroid on Thursday, but I don't think they did. To make matters worse, the asteroid is currently condition code 9, meaning it's trajectory path is very unpredictable. (Condition codes are ranged from 0 to 9, with 0 being a good flight path trajectory, and 9 being uncertain). The asteroid is 65 meters wide. (Video animation starts at 24 seconds) Lt0XPVu22ow
  4. I'm not so sure... From my knowledge, if the port is blocked, it would likely immediately revert to 0 feet. Since the altimeter is reading pressure, even SLP (sea-level-pressure) has a certain amount of weight to it. If the altimeter isn't receiving any atmospheric pressure, it'd only assume pressure was very low. Since you're asking about the complete removal of the static port, I can only assume the altimeter would drop to 0 feet, since it's always looking for positive pressure. Take away positive pressure, and it won't have enough of it to give you any reading at all...even if it was a "rough estimate".
  5. That's an interesting thought Frostiken, but wouldn't you only lose your altimeter if the static port was blocked? Sorry, it's been a while since I've flown in DCS.

    Combat-Helo

Are you sure about that? There's plenty of updates on the dev blog over the past few months, including one just 24 hours ago. Jan 2nd 2012 - New industrial building pictures. Jan 19th 2012 - Development update on the launcher for Combat Helo March 7th, 2012 - Update on the added development of the KBU. Why do you say development has halted? It seems ongoing to me.

Really? Dang, well I put Combat Helo into my search box, and it didn't come up with Combat Helo threads. My bad. :D

Combat Helo I always look for this title in this sub forum, expecting it to be bumped back to the first page. Surely it'd be seeing attention here. But I never do...so I'm starting to wonder if there's a dedicated thread for it. Since "Combat Helo" returned nothing in the search results, I'm going to create a thread for it. :) Combat Helo will feature a shared cockpit multiplayer experience, allowing you to take the battle online, and fly cooperatively with friends, trading between either the front or back seats of the helicopter. It also features a real-time arming system...allowing you to land, exit your helicopter on foot, manually load each weapon store hardpoint, and enter the cockpit again, all without having to leave the simulation. Combat Helo is an AH-64D Apache Longbow simulator nearing the end of development. However, the developer's are also constructing a fully functional CH-47D Chinook helicopter as well, to either be included in the release of the sim, or available as DLC. 9. That entirely depends on the game that's being ran.
  10. I never game without it. :) Takes a bit of configuring to get the most out of it, but it drops me down to about 30 processes and 9% memory usage, from 35/12%. Closes things like Windows themes, printer spooler...etc. Make sure you go through the configuration of it though and customize it to your needs. Also I'd recommend using the "boost" mode, and not the default game box mode.
  11. Hey buddy. First and foremost we need to know the model of chip you're using. It's important to do at least 12 hours of custom blend Prime testing using 70-80 percent of your memory to get a maximum thermal peak. I would never allow a chip to max at a temperature over 80 degrees for a 24/7 overclock. Here's my temps: Regarding LLC, it should be kept on for overclocking. It massively increases stability under load. Depending on your chip I can advise you further. :)
  12. I wouldn't doubt it. I'm pretty sure he had access to DCS: A-10C before the open beta. Just gotta make friends with the right people and PM them. :P
  13. Selling a Core i5 750 CPU. Original packaging and everything. Just upgraded that's all. This chip was also always water cooled, and of course is in perfect working order. Please PM me with any questions or offers.
  14. Are you using the Steam version? I hear things are usually hit and miss with the Steam install and you usually have to do some sort of a hash check within Steam, and it'll fix your install.
  15. Yeah I switched DIMMs and I got all 8 GB suddenly...but obviously went down into single channel speed since I wasn't using the "paired sticks" slots. So I got suspicious, and stuck an old stick into the original slot alone, and my computer didn't detect any memory. Switched slots, and the memory was detected.
  16. I was only supposed to be looking at 1156 boards.... Instead I have a Sandy Bridge 2500K, Maximus IV Gene-Z, Obsidian 650D, H80 cooler, new PSU, and case mods on the way.
  17. Just to let everyone know, it's a dead DIMM. I'm now looking at top LGA 1156 boards.
  18. Forget it. It's off to Newegg to get a new motherboard. I'm so tired of this board. I'll have to buy completely new memory and get two pairs of 6 GB memory, which is about the same price as a new LGA 1156 board.
  19. Yes I have looked at my qualified vendor list, thanks though Emmer. I tried firmly reseating the modules. Turning memory remap on/off does not fix it. // I honestly believe this is a compatibility issue. ASUS does not list my memory modules as being compatible. Here's a snapshot of the G.SKILL section of my motherboard's QVL: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n119/lqcorsa/87310e2d.jpg As you can see...only 2 thu 6 GB is supported. My only options are to downgrade to 6 GB modules, or upgrade to 12, because my motherboard does support Kingston 12 GB modules for 3 x 4 GB. However...I think this may bump me down to single channel. Argghh what am I to do? :helpsmilie:
  20. It appears now looking at my motherboard QVL...8 GB configurations aren't a good set up on this board, which is BS. It likes configurations of 2, 4, 6, and Kingston brand 12 GB. I don't know how this has only just now caught my eye though. I've had this memory installed since December and haven't noticed that until just now. Looks like I'll be buying completely new memory. :/ These G.Skill sticks won't work.
  21. I was messing around in Windows, and saw this. System specs are in my signature. What are you guys thinking to try and fix it? I'm gonna try reseating the sticks, and checking out my BIOS. Another weird that that happened when I bought this RAM a few months ago is the speed defaulted to 1333 MHz, when they're stock @ 1600 MHz. I'll try reseating the sticks and looking in the BIOS, but this is a little irritating and I'm hoping you guys can offer up suggestions.
  22. That's SWEET! Something to practice with until Seven G is out. :P
  23. Thrustmaster didn't make the gray friction wheel functional to actually adjust the throttle's friction.
  24. Downloaded the demo...and the updater isn't working at all for X-Plane. The update servers are completely off right now. ¬_¬...
