I have no bloody idea what "-1 schedule" means......and Google doesn't help. Well, if the Eagle's rate of climb is right, then the Hog's must be wrong.
-
I should have clarified. Yes, it matches up in unlimited climb. But when I'm at a +5 degree angle, the rate of climb seems much, much faster than it should be. Especially if you're loaded down with ordinance. The Hog's rate of climb at the same angle is practically the same as the F15's....so I know something's amiss with its flight model.
-
If only the graphics on the Falcon games were worth anything, I would be playing them instead :P I agree that the flight dynamics of the F15C in FC2 are...weird. The rate of climb after takeoff is just way too fast.
-
I still want my F15C intake ramps to move....AI's works find but the player's is perpetually stuck in the up position.

Nice tail design on #909

There's gotta be a way...I hope.... I have the Simmod A10 for FC2, but in the campaign, all the static A10s sitting out on the ramp default to the desert scheme which, for one is obnoxiously hideous, and two doesn't fit in with the surroundings, not to mention anachronistic considering that AFRES is now AFRC (aren't all A10s gray now? I haven't seen an up-to-date picture of one in camo)....I've changed all the skins of the player/AI aircraft, but the statics are still out of place. Is there someway to change the default skin that's chosen in the mission file, or delete the skin completely so that it can't select that one? I want to get rid of all the skins except for those of the plain gray variety. I tried deleting the statics all together, but for some reason, many statics won't appear on the map. And yes, I did uncheck "hidden".

Ah, must have been an update to the paint scheme. The pictures of that particular aircraft that I could find were all from 2003~2004 and it had black and green on that spot.
-
I wouldn't say that finding targets is "trivially easy". On the missions where FAC doesn't mark the target with smoke, I sometimes get lost for a few minutes before I manage to find the target. Many times there will be a T-72 hiding in a treeline or amongst buildings, and without a Maverick I can't find them at all.

What's with the brown spot on the left tailplane of the green/black one? Shouldn't it also be green/black?

I'm sorry, is that a high-horse you're sitting on? I was unable to find an actual YouTube video of an A-10 starting up, but was able to find numerous videos of F-15s and Su-27s. One thing I noticed was that in all F-15 startup videos, the right engine was started first. This was substantiated by the F-15 flight manual excerpts I found. In all the Su-27 startup videos I watched, the left engine was started first. Unable to find a suitable video of an A-10 (and all the "manuals" I searched for and read omitted any kind of startup procedure), I assumed that Western aircraft typically started the right engine first, and Eastern aircraft typically started the left engine first. When multiple videos provide the same evidence, you're damn right YouTube is an authority.
-
This must be an A-10 specific procedure then. According to YouTube and f-15e.info the F15's right engine is always started first. I suspected that most US aircraft had the same procedure.
-
I would assume that shutting down that engine would cut fuel flow, thus protecting it from exploding... I must have hit Shift+End then.....
-
Tried in FC2.....and it started both engines.....
-
Yeah--I figured turning off the engine would work, but if it's the right engine, both engines shut down..... Is there some way to pull the handle that says "ENGINE FIRE PULL THIS!"?
-
There's also "A Visit to the Port" mission in FC2 where you fly lead of a 2-ship formation that is following a lead 2-ship formation. I'm sure it would work in the original LOMAC. As I recall, your AI wingman would takeoff without you. In FC2, they just sit on the taxiway and block you from getting on the runway and won't takeoff unless you do first.
-
If you're making a realistic simulation, then realistically following procedure should matter. And in some, if not most aircraft, it does matter which engine starts first.

You're not the only one being frustrated by seeing everything go online. I don't have the time to sit in a room and wait for people to join the game. I have zero tolerance for lag. I have zero tolerance for screwing around. And the parts I hate most about online gaming are talking to strangers, and most of those strangers being either a) smack-talking jerks or b) stupid little kids.

.....I thought the right engine was supposed to be started first....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPDQ8E-GWTc I wish the IMAX film "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag" had been more of a documentary....there are more holes in that film than swiss cheese.

I'm curious about A10 attack runs. I'd like to find literature on the by-the-book techniques for lining up targets and taking them out. As for nap of the earth flying, that's works fine until you come up on a Shilka :P

Masks are only necessary for those without steady hands, and on the cockpit. I used a mask on the top half of my F15's engine section, and it left a horrible ridge at the border. Not to mention getting the tape in the curves and crevices was a pain in the butt. I used no masking on the bottom and it looks nearly perfect. However on the cockpit I should have used masking but didn't.

On engine startup, the F-15's air intake ramps should slam in the down position, and then during flight, the ramps should automatically move up or down depending on speed and AoA. In-game they're perpetually stuck in the up position ....the right engine is also the engine that's supposed to be started first..... There are a lot of things missing from the game...

Airbrushing requires tape....I refuse to use tape. I used to use enamels when I was younger, and never had brushstroke problems.....but when I looked for enamel paints at my local store they didn't have any of the colors I needed.
-
Aha, got it to work. Now I'm disappointed that the air intake ramps don't function as they should :( I'd like to see a vanilla 305SQ scheme. I like the tail emblem they use.

I'm currently finishing up a JASDF F-15J Aggressor. Tail #92-8912. I haven't built a model in years so my skills are lacking.... I've also got a small Blue Impulse kit that I bought in Japan--I started on it but never finished it because the acrylic paints I was using were pissing me off.....the brushstrokes are too visible and the white paint is practically transparent, even after 5 coats. I have two more models on my list: 305SQ F-15J with a JASDF anniversary scheme (the one with cherry blossoms) and an ROKAF F-15K Slam Eagle. I have plans for the next F-15J. I'll chop up the intake ramps and flaps and reapply them in landing configuration and display it as if it had just touched down.
