Hi, In mission 13 - Last Strike ... I am stuck with the Jtac not answering ... I am on ch3 on green. get the initial auto call out at wp3 and short dialog but when it comes to using the \ menu and contact them to check-in 15 I get no answer back ever. They call me in 'visual' once I am on them but never when I try to contact them on radio. Me wrong or bug?

For the life of me I cannot survive the 2 SU33s that pop up after claw leaves the bombing site (tunnel). They have tons of missiles, I struggle to even figure out where the planes are before I have at least 2 missiles chasing me ...plus they are launched from a distance that my magics can't match. watched a few YouTube videos and the guys seems to never really have much to do to evade the one missile launched after them...I dodge one, maybe two but then a 3rd always gets me ... Did they upgrade the Russian missiles lately??? Any tips welcome...driving me crazy and shaking

Great job Baltic Dragon on this M2000 campaign. Perfect learning pace, after the training missions, and just the right level of difficulty. Immersive storyline and great voice acting really add to it. Really well done. M2000 is my 'learning' plane on DCS (still a newbie) and this campaign has hooked me to this Sim. Merry Xmas to all

Hi Imacken. Indeed "i.e I need to recenter the VR position (ok just a keystroke but still)". So yes I recenter it every time from the hotas. Probably nothing to do with DCS but with WMR / SteamVR. I noticed that sometimes DCS starts with the right initial position (in front of menu) and a few seconds later resets the VR view to the wrong position where I can't see the menu anymore.

What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD
Brainfreeze replied to Brainfreeze's topic in Virtual Reality
Not sure I understand your question but: 2000x2000 is a random number I used in the comment...it depends on the resolution of your headset. For Reverb G2 it is 2160x2160. However, in steamvr video settings you can specify the resolution per eye. Normally you would enter 2160x2160 for reverb headset but many specify a resolution that is higher than native resolution (upscaling) so that they get better in game resolution (for close objects in particular). I experimented with it too and was using something around 3000x3000 ... and the cockpit looked tiny so I had to change the 'force IPD' setting in DCS VR tab to something around 45 so that the cockpit looked the right size. Hope that is clearer -
Damn. Pretty tough in tensed and close situations. And with the automatic lock...chances are you lock someone on your side tough to know 3 or 4 miles out with no labels

Hi, when multiple bogeys fly together and I lock on one of them using the VTB and TDC, I often have a need to switch to another of these bogeys (after they break formation one may become a bigger threat to me)... Is there a way to 'cycle' through them in the mirage? selecting the new one on the VTB is just too slow and you need to keep your eyes on the bandit. At the moment I end up breaking lock and using the weapons command to switch to boresight mode and try to reacquire automatically but it is not working well for me How do you do it?

What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD
Brainfreeze replied to Brainfreeze's topic in Virtual Reality
hmm...installed the new release of open beta...in game IPD now at 56 in the mirage...up from 45! OK OFF THAT! ... nothing to do with new realease ... found out it has to do with the resolution used on your VR headset... If you use a higher resolution (say native is 2000x2000 per eye and you set steamvr video setting at 3000x3000 per eye ) then your cockpit will look very small. If you use native resolution then an in game IPD setting close your own IPD will look fine. It therefore seems that it is a scaling factor which you need to use if you set your steamevr resolution to a higher (or lower I guess) resolution. ... going to edit the 1st post to reflect that. -
What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD
Brainfreeze replied to Brainfreeze's topic in Virtual Reality
Yep, that what I was trying to figure out with this post and given the wide array of settings people use it seems that users just need to find the right value for them in the 30-60 range. Kind of important that people know this is not IPD and should not match your own IPD. More of a scale factor -
Sorry but not sure I understand.... If your pictures are left eye / right eye then is it not completely normal? The left eye will see more to the left and less to the right, while the right eye will see more to the right and less to the left.

NVidia Graphics Driver after 481.48 causing VR stuttering
Brainfreeze replied to Waxer's topic in Virtual Reality
Argh...tried to rollback the driver to 451.48 ... would not install...says it is not compatible with this version of windows / Could not find suitable graphic hardware (got Win10-64 latest update and GeForce 3080). guess the driver is for Turing cards only -
Hi, the home DCS page in VR has the menu window just below the wing of an SU33 (think). 3 days ago, my initial position in VR is above the wing for some reason... i.e I need to recenter the VR position (ok just a keystroke but still) to get back to the right location in front of the menu window... anyone got any idea how I caused this and how to fix it?

What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD
Brainfreeze replied to Brainfreeze's topic in Virtual Reality
I have to say I took a less scientific route than measuring cockpit... looking at the pilot's hand and throttle grip and they have to look of realistic size to me...all about perception -
What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD

Weird. default setting it is a coffin like the real thing indeed but stick and throttle (and buttons) are really not to scale. What headset are u using? -
Hi, if you are new to DCS then like me you'll wonder if you should go for TrackIR or VR. I did and chose TrackIR for price and fear of motion sickness. Some aspects of it bugged me and I decided to try VR with the HP Reverb G2. Trackir: It allows you to look around your cockpit easily. I did find that in acrobatic situations (dogfight) it was sometimes difficult to figure out where you were actually looking and find where the hell the opponent had gone. This is because trackIR multiplies your head movement so that 20deg in real life corresponds to 120-150deg in game. When over water or blue sky with you head looking up through the canopy it is not easy to find out where you are and when the opponent goes from left to right of your plane from under it it is not easy to get it back in your sight. I am sure practice will do though but after 30hrs of flying it was still hard for me. Another grip I had is the lack of 3D when really fighter jets are about 3D movement. Finally, cockpits looked too big/vast on screens. VR with HP Reverb G2. I chose that Headset because it has a high resolution which is really necessary with DCS. I have to say the experience has been amazing. It is much more immersive than on screen. Cockpit is just there around you, you absolutely feel like you are in it. I find it also a lot easier to follow other aircrafts around me visually. Overall it is much more natural/intuitive to fly this way. Sure the image tends to feel a bit blurry at time, especially with fast moving targets but the scenery is great and the full 3D immersion makes up for it. So far no motion sickness. Be sure to set the headset to your pupil distance (IPD), apparently it helps. VR is a little aggressive on the eyes but reducing brightness helps if needed. Not sure I will go back to Trackir but would say that if you are hesitating, I think DCS deserves VR. My system is i7 10700 @2.9GHz with RTX 3080 and 32GB of RAM.

What setting have u got?: Cockpit size setting using IPD
Brainfreeze replied to Brainfreeze's topic in Virtual Reality
Guys, this is not to debate about what the IPD setting in DCS does or does not do. I you are not using it then don't comment. The aim here is to know what people have set it at. Again, mine at 38 seems right to scale. -
With standard settings, the cockpits look like miniature ones...the IPD setting under the VR menu allows to scale the outside world. I fly the M2000 and found that forcing IPD to 38 was giving me a cockpit of realistic size. What setting r u using? I am on a HP Reverb G2 BTW SPOILER: So far, after posting the initial thread I found out that: 1- the DCS IPD setting for VR is indeed a scaling factor allowing you to adjust the scale of your plane/cockpit to a realistic size. 2- The value you will need to achieve that may have nothing to do with your physical IPD. Users will set it in the 30-60 range 3- If your Steamvr resolution per eye is close to the native resolution of your headset then the value you will find will be indeed very close or the same as your physical IPD 4- If your SteamVR resolution setting is significantly greater than the native resolution of your headset then using a value close to your physical IPD will result in the cockpit looking like a miniature one... you will need to significantly decrease the IPD setting in DCS so that your cockpit will look to scale.

Ok thks Jojo. Understand now, the bars only kick in once below 1200kg

Hi, I noticed that my fuel level indicator panel is not working properly...the digital gauge showing the number of litre in the plane and total are working ok but the two vertical bars showing the same info visually are actually not working and always stay at 6k kg. Is this a setting somewhere or a bug on my station? Using latest beta and standard cockpit (removed all the cockpit mods) Thks

Unable to toggle Reshade GUI

I also clean up all the cache from windows after uninstalling and then re-installing the latest reshade version (4.8.2)...still no luck :-( -
Hi all, Just wanted to know if it is possible to preset the player aircraft's Tacan and ILS to a chosen channel like for radio frequencies?
