Yeah I have Warthog, but use the simped-pedals method to use Brake and accel of my G25... ...am finding it very frustrating and pedals will definitely be my next purchase. My 2 cents Delerium, if your wallet can hack it, go Warthog, as soon as you take it out of the box you'll know you made the right decision...

Do I need TripleHead to use three screens?

Fair enough, thats shed loads of outputs. Things have changed since my 5870 was top of the tree! -
Do I need TripleHead to use three screens?

WyNNTTr is correct, but for fear of complicating the thread, there are still situations when a TH2GO is still needed, especially once you decide to embrace stuff like Helios, and thus want to support 4 screens and more. I need both Eyefinity AND TH2GO for my setup; the nice thing about TH2GO is you're driving 3 screens but only using one DVI port on your graphics card. -
Every Christmas, and usually in the middle of Summer, there are MASSIVE fire-sales on Steam. I stock-pile games then and that's me for the next 6 months. I last bought at Christmas, picking up Mafia 2, Batman, Overlord 1 and 2 and some others for -75%. By Christmas again I'll be ready to pick up Fallout 4 and MW:2 and whatever else... and that'll be me for 2012 (and DCS:fast jet of course!) :) I love Steam. Life's got lot's more to worry about.

Steam was hacked? Where's this reported? I can't seem to find anything via Google.

talk me out of returning my TM Warthog HOTAS
Jinja replied to gear_monkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sounds like someone who's bought an Zonda but can't afford the tyres and runs it on 91-ron! Warthog's pedigree. If you need a donkey, buy a donkey. -
Unrelated to the subject at hand, but I would at least to congratulate the correct (non-US) use of the phrase " I couldn't care less..." ;)

Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick

:) Nice, that's what I'm talking about! Wrist and forearm will be perfectly/naturally aligned when using this throttle. -
Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick

Hi Bumfire, Lots of good advice here. Don't fret, CTS isn't rocket-science... STOP playing till fully healed. Ice-packs as mentioned. Physio as mentioned. Pay the physio to come round and look at the ergonomics of your environment. Companies pay health-professionals to analyze their work-environments, and the reasons why they do so absolutely apply in your case. Rectify your seating/control positions to minimize tendon/joint contortion/misalignments. Then start playing. I had severe CTS in wrist but never dreamt of surgery... it just took the simple steps above. I had to buy new ergo-mouse at $100 but worth every penny because I was fixed in 3 weeks. (I write software so am tied to my desk). The 2nd photo shows the alignment of my wrist when using the mouse... no twisting involved. My previous and normal mouse was slowly killing me ;-) -
I maybe wrong, but: JTAC is not 'mission-aware'. He's merely telling you that HE has no more targets for you.

Yeah I noticed the font changes... agree on the truncations, let's just move the radios left a few more percentage of screen-width. I liked the fact that there was less vertical spacing between rows, so my eyes didn't have to move vertically as much as before. The only thing about this beta I was disappointed at was the new in-flight briefing. It's yet another screen which doesn't show up on my 3840x1792 screen setup. I think the solution should be that these menus (including multiplayer log-in, etc) should dynamically size/position themselves with respect to the main-world view. As it is with my small 2nd monitor below not filling the width of the main top-monitor (TH2GO), this ends up being impossible to use. I know I could fix this for myself with some kung-fu file-editing, but should I really have to resort to this??

Wow, that model is pure class, lovely. Looking forward to attempting to remove just the dish with some 30mm! ;)

I used to be in your exact position, decent hardware but 32bit.... caved-in to advice from ED testers and have never looked back! It instantly fixed all my DCS CTDs, and now I can upgrade to 8GB RAM whenever I feel like it. My machine was just a gaming rig anyway and with most other games purchased from Steam, it was a pretty painless process... Give in to the dark side....

Didn't know that either! Thx for that. And GREAT video Zamboni, love the split-screen too.

yup on the tip/reward indexometer, that one scored highly

Yes, it has been mature of late. The 'beast' has feasted, over-eaten and is now sleeping it off. But just wait till you announce DCS:F-XX...

Thx for the offer Sobek, but the very next attempt I got 'Contact, taking fuel', so I'm happy! Personally, I don't know if AAR training would lend itself naturally to a real-time MP session, most likely a Youtube video would be perfect ror rewatch value. For me, what was absolute key to my nailing of AAR was watching the replay of my failed attempts. I quickly realised my relative altitude was wrong (too low) when I could see how the boom could not mate cleanly. As soon as I spotted this, the very next attempt went off without a hitch. Oh yeah, by the way, love your sig (coming from the software world). Every time there's a new thread about delays and updates, you should just put post that and lock the thread!

Okay I'm big enough to admit this one.... Have tried refuelling on only about 5-8 occasions (since it's never a requirement in SP campaigns). Initially I always end up with the KC suddenly diving out of the sky (or worse) as the boom misses the refuelling port and smacks of my fuselage. Nod and agree with everyone on the forums on how hard this is.... Then I read some post by some wise sage who recommended 'walking' the Warthog throttles to hugely increase effectiveness of speed control. Now I'm much better on the throttles, but I STILL end up with the KC in flames... DAMN this is hard. So yesterday I'm not refuelling... I'm on one of those interminable ingress waypoints on the Shore campaign, so am killing time perusing the cockpit... oops, realise I forgot to arm my seat.... check... hey, what's this big lever just fore of the seat-arm switch.... zoom-in.... 'RCVR'..... hmmmm..... 'open'........ ahuh....... 'close'..... So to ALL those who still can't refuel, please, I consider myself to be a completely gifted and adept bending-robot, so it can happen to the best of us! ;) ...in my defense, I thought the refuelling cover was some hinged flap that was pushed open by the boom as it 'mates'. Arrgghh!

I totally agree with Frosti, maybe the praise heaped on ed (in this thread) for 'doing their job' is a little... effusive. What IS very open and surprising is the degree to which we get patch progress updates. I admire the approach!

...doh, im typing the question at the same time that youre answering it in advance hassata!

Can i rephrase the ops question... With TAD as soi, what is the most efficient way of creating a spi on a random piece of map, SPECIFICALLY where ther is no target?/symbol? So i slew the cursor to where i want the spi created.... Then what?? I've always wanted a way of doing this...

How long did it take you to learn the A10?
Jinja replied to Flacracker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'm a pedantic f*cker.... so saying "it took me a week" to master the systems is meaningless unless we're all talking about the same reference point. So for those who said it took them a week, do they actually mean 168hrs????? ...because then I'll believe them!
