Deka Simulations announces the DCS: J-8II for DCS World!

Hahaha, looks like this Jockey guy really triggered a public outrage. Guys there is really no need to chat him up here. I have dealt with him before and he is everything you guys said he is and more. That's why I blocked him. If wasn't because of all the quotations I didn't even notice he is there (May be ED should do something about this too, so we can't see the quotations too after block them). Everything had been explained by Deka thoroughly through their Q&A thread. There is no need to discuss them over and over again. Remember, he is not here to discuss matters, nor debate with you. He is here to make you dance to his tune and he can get satisfaction and enjoyment out of it. Here, professor Dave explained this type of person better than I do in the later part of his video. (edit: correction, all part of this video) The best way to deal with this type of troller is to do what I do, block him. When he can't get a response, trust me, it will hurt him, a lot. All you need to do is to go to your profile, at the "ignored user" section and type in his forum name. Very easy. Here: https://forum.dcs.world/ignore/ -
I told you to go to the JF-17 section. This thread is not for JF-17. You claim you don't want to waste a thread, then why did you send this post to my private message and yet still post here? Pakistan don't want to use WS-13 was for their logistical reasons, not because JF-17 wasn't designed to have a Chinese Engine in mind. and the rest I don't even bother to respond. They just have a few bit and pieces which were out source by the customer, doesn't make JF-17 a Pakistan plane. If you buy a phone from Huawei, a particular model that only for export and not for sale in side China. After you bought it, you replace its ear piece and sim card with ones which made by Nokia. And download the chrome web browser firmware...... sorry, I meant software to replace the original 360 browser. Does that make the phone a Nokia phone or the US phone. That's how absurd you argument was. So please don't waste everybody's time.

Utterly non-sense. The Russian engine was picked just for convenience at the time.. Now the WS-13 engine will be used. RWR isn't American. Super-7 was a Chinese project with some assistance from the US, which they didn't do much beyond the design of the wing root extension. The project was choosen to be an export only project only because the introduction of J-10 and J-11B, which proven to be vastly superior. Pakistan firmware??? hahaha. It is an export plane, of course it uses the firmware from the customer. And that's very much on every weapon exported by China as China doesn't want others to connect into their system. Exactly what you are doing. As far as I know, Pakistan can't produce the jet independently. 42% of its components are beyond Pakistan's understanding and production. Yet China can produce them and export them independently. Of course, recently Chinese decided to up the ante with their assistance to Pakistan, teach them how to produce the jet and ceased JF-17 's production in China. But that's another matter entirely. By the way, if you want to discuss this issue, you should go to the JF-17 section, not here. This is completely off the typic.

Model Viewer Crashing when trying to generate Livery files and Dot files
PLAAF replied to Wyvern's topic in Liveries/Skinning
Also he doesn't seem to be able to make changes on the pilot liveries. It seems that the model viewer won't let him save. -
If we are going to get a trainer, I rather have one with more capability, like L-15.
-
Totally agree. Do the same for the JF-17 and other planes as well. Best if we can choose pilot liveries for every plane just like plane liveries.

Just to want to clear things up here for everybody. SqnLdr_chuishan here used Chinese classification of generations and so does the Deka in their JF-17 missions. China has a different way to define "generation" in fighter aircrafts. Correct me if I am wrong, in the west, the aircrafts are classified as follow: 1st gen: Back swept wing fighters like MiG-15, 17 and F-86 2nd gen: Supersonic fighters like MiG-19 and F-100 3rd gen: Fighters with BVR missiles like MiG-23 and F-4 4th gen: Unstable fighters with doppler pulse radars 5th gen: Stealth fighters In Chinese classification there are only 4 generation of fighters. The 2nd and 3rd were combined by into 1 because there is no significate breakthrough in terms of plane design. Yes, a 3rd gen fighter can launch BVR missiles, but that's because the breakthrough in radar, not in plane. So when Deka say things like "3rd gen fighter" in their mission, what they really meant was a 4th gen fighter in western definition.

A listing of all variants of J-7 and J-8.
PLAAF replied to PLAAF's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Here is Silver Dragon's J-8II post. I will put here for easier access for you guys. -
Want to know more about this awesome plane? You can take a look at my old thread. Just scroll down to the J-8 section.
-
So, it is as I suspected. Only the J-8F's inner pylon can carry PL-8.

Good News, this prove we may one day get J-10 in DCS.
PLAAF replied to PLAAF's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
You mean that black and white partial picture of a J-10A cockpit? That's no secret. It had been posted nearly 2 decades ago. I had the full picture. But it is saved in one of those USB disk which I don't know which box did I put in during the moving of my house 5 years ago. So, just relax. Nobody is doing illegal thing here. -

Wait??? Did anyone post a manual???!! How did I miss this??!! Whoever did this, can you please PM me? Thanks -
Wait, where is the control for chaff and flare? They are not located on the throttle?
-
I too prefer to pay extra to get it.

Deka Simulations announces the DCS: J-8II for DCS World!
PLAAF replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in DCS: J-8II
Yep, only from the G variant, J-8II became a true multirole fighter. But then again, I could be wrong since I know little about the Peace Pearl project. -
This list is way too long and will take a long time to complete. So I will shrink it down a bit. We just need a few essential ones which allow us to get a believable mission going. There are only a few types of mission or pilot-mission interaction. 1: Fighter-to-fighter action (this won't be a problem once the La-7 is out. People can fly it against players who pilot BF-109s or FW-190s) 2: Ground attack (We already have German vehicles, so we need some Soviet ones to form the basic transports) 3: Anti-air weapons (Use them to protect the transport and other installations. Allow players who fly in opposition force to have more believable and challenging mission settings.) 4: Ground assault vehicles for Close Air Support Missions. 5: Some long-range artillery can be used as targets for elimination or protection. The best if such artillery can seem clearly from the sky when firing. Katyusha would be the best. Just imagine you are tasked with protecting the arty. After some tough fighting, you don't even know if you have done the job, and all of a sudden, every rocket from the ground starts to fire. That would be a sight to behold. So my suggestion is as follows: The first patch containing: 1: T-34-85 (main tank) 2: Su-100 (main AT gun that can deal with the Zoo series) 3: ZiS-5 or GAZ-MM truck (main transport which forms the convoys in missions) 4: Katyusha rocket artillery with Zis or GAZ chassis (Main long range arty that makes pretty pictures in mission) 5: 25mm AAA on GAZ-MM or Zis trunk (main AAA for people who pilot opposition to be shot at) 6: 85mm M39 52K flak gun (for high altitude flak effects) The Second patch should expand to the navy. Giving us a few basic ones to simulate the naval battle. 1: Kirov class Cruiser Molotov 2: Gnevny destroyer (Can be used for earlier Cold War Chinese navy, too) 3: S-class (Srednyaya, IX-bis series) submarine. (Once again, it can be used for earlier Cold War Chinese Navy, too) 4: Tu-2 bomber (this enables the escort mission. Tu-2 is better than IL-2 or IL-10. Because ILs are best in low altitude, but Tu-2 can be used in all altitude.) 5: Gangut class battleship Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya The patches afterwards: Then we can gradually fill that long list of yours.

this can't be serious. Who is piloting the other plane?

Deka Simulations announces the DCS: J-8II for DCS World!
PLAAF replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in DCS: J-8II
Not really, the older model you are referring to shares the same flight character with J-8BF and DF which are still in service. BF and DF were B and D variants upgraded into the F standards. As I mentioned before in my J-8 variants thread, those older ones have structure difference and they can't just be turned into a J-8F. That's why they are called BF and DF. -
I see, I didn't know much about the US assistance projects to China. So thanks for correcting me.
-
Chinese ones please
-
I see, no harm in asking. Later variants are going to make J-8II OP against other 3rd gen fighters in DCS like the F-4 anyway. Just one last question, can you show us a cockpit picture of this module please? Thanks. A cockpit picture of your module, not the real thing. Thanks.
