Does DEKA have to just do Chinese Aircraft?
PLAAF replied to Hodo's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Here, this is what my friend wrote a while back. Please have a look. I will ask him to write a more detailed thread once he is free. -
Does DEKA have to just do Chinese Aircraft?
PLAAF replied to Hodo's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
You probably don't know this. But J-7G is basically a J-7E with a doppler pulse search radar. J-7E itself only has a ranging radar. Therefore, it's better if we lobby for J-7G. It is better all around. -

I agree, please prioritise Chinese like you guys always do. J-7G will be a lovely addition for DCS. -

Really? You changed your MO? That's interesting. I still prefer a Chinese plane. There is way too many western aircrafts in DCS already, but not enough Chinese or Russian ones. But if you are going to make a western plane, any chance to make F-86K? Since someone is making MiG-17F. -
Does DEKA have to just do Chinese Aircraft?

In short, yes, they have said this many times. They only do Chinese designed or operated aircrafts. Also, please stop making new thread to ask the same question that had been asked so many times in the past. You may get banned for this. Just a suggestion. -
I agree with TLTeo. There are way to many variables for a single exercise to prove a point. There could be issues such as pilot skill, commander's tactics, luck, etc.....

That's true.

CATOBAR? You mean Catapult launchable? It's out. J-15T I think that's what it's called. https://mil.news.sina.com.cn/china/2020-11-21/doc-iiznezxs2998837.shtml

how many AA missiles can it carry.

Kerbo, That's some awesome work you got there. where can we download it?

Chinese Central government have decided to phase out all J-7s along with all other 2nd gen fighter and replace them with J-16. The last few J-7 squadrons are flying their last sorties and the pilots are spending their time with their planes. This means that Deka won't be invited to drink afternoon tea if they decide to make J-7G module or J-8E. This is certainly great news.

New Chinese revolutionary 40mm "buried-head" shell can go through 140mm sloped armor with ease. Please add this into the pack so we can play in the Combined Arms Just imagine, except 3rd generation main battle tanks, how many other vehicles can protect you from this? On top of that, it can be used as an AAA. The best part, this video also showed the control interface of the vehicle, which can be integrated into the game.

I see. Feel free to get it try though. We have faith in you.

awesome. Can you give us a Jeff pilot paintkit too, please? Thanks.

The first thing we need to have is A4M or A5M to match the I-16. Otherwise, I-16 owners never have a proper opponent.

这有什么好心酸的?JF-17本来就是个拿来给第三世界国家用的廉价机。说得不好听一点,就是专门拿来对付F-20虎鲨和印度飞机的。

I see. It worked. Thanks. This is the first time I installed a WW2 map, that's probably why the watch got activated. Feel free to delete this thread. Thanks again.
-
No, I don't even know there is such a filter. Even if I did, I assume this historical filter should allow me to play WW2 fighters and filter out those jets, not other way around.
-
I just purchased this map yesterday and I couldn't get it work. Because every time when I go to the mission editor, there are so many countries missing, and so many planes are missing. Virtually no WW2 planes are available in the editor. The worst part is if you go to the mission editor for this map, it will mess up all other map. When you go to other maps, all countries and units missing in the channel map will remain missing in all other maps. This map is unplayable.

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?

good to know Su-30 is still on the table Is that Deka's discord? Does anyone have a link? -
Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Canards aren't the problem. Australia did run a test on a J-20 model to see how much radar signal it reflects. The front angle where canards are located was quite good. The problem is on the side, and they can certainly improve the rear aspect by making a square-shaped exhaustion port and trapezoid vertical rudder fin. The rumor was that the trapezoid fin is more stealthy but decreases stability, while China is yet to design an FBW system to compensate for this decrease stability. This is why J-20 doesn't have a trapezoid rudder. If you take a look at the 2nd prototype of FC-31, they also gave up the trapezoid rudder. Here is the report from Australia's test on J-20 I mentioned earlier. Have a look. http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-2011-03.html -
if it doesn't have Russian DL, does it have support for Chinese DL?

Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Yes, I know. I am not studying aerodynamic for a living either. I was just stating what I saw from the documentary. I heard that long fuselage area ruled design increase high altitude high speed performance or something like that. That's why J-8 has this very slender body. I think it actually decrease performance at lower speed, maybe. I did a search online and maybe have something to do with this. I am not sure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_rule -
Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
PLAAF replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
This is interesting. I once watch a documentary on TV about J-20. During one of the airshow, many foreign spectators believe J-20 is an high altitude interceptor due to its elongated body. When J-20 showed its maneuverability later, people had hard time believe how could a fighter with elongated body can achieve such maneuverability. The military spokesman mentions the reason why J-20 could achieve its high maneuverability. During the designing stage of J-10, the designer team argued about the configuration of J-10. After some research, it was understood that the reason for the high maneuverability of a 4th gen fighter is because they usually have 1 of the 2 configurations. They either have canard or wing root extension. Canard configuration was chosen for J-10. During the designing of J-20, they wanted to have an elongated body for high supersonic performance (which explained how did J-20 become so long), but at the same time they want high maneuverability too. One of the designer said, why not to have both canard and root extension. That how J-20 ended up have both canard and root extension. Also explained how it achieve its maneuverability. But when looking at the wind tunnel model of the J-9, you can see it already had both canard and wing root extension. No wonder J-9 was cancelled. I think it was just way too ambitious for Chengdu at the time. -
J-8F was a modified MiG-21? Just ignore them. Remember the election between the Labour and Liberal?? When one party got ahead, the other would bicker them at anything and everything, and talk down on them. Just because they like to bicker that doesn't mean what they said were true. The lies can only show their own inner insecurity that is they are losing the election. I remember I once had a friend came to me with this other guy. They wanted me to be their judge. After I heard their story I realised that they were arguing about Zhuge Liang. That guy was saying that Kong Ming and Zhuge Liang were different person and my friend was trying to correct him. They even betted on $20. So I told them, my friend was wrong, Zhuge Liang and Kong Ming were indead 2 different person. After losing $20, my friend was furious. He demanded to know how could I do that to him. Anyone should know Zhuge Liang and Kong Ming were the same person. So I told him, by spending this $20, you ensured that he will have this wrong info for the rest of his life. Whenever he brought this up, he will be laughed at by everybody. So it is worth it. So if next time somebody tells you that J-8F is a modified MiG-21, you should tell him, NO, J-8F is actually a modified MiG-15.
