Talking about field landings here and the use of DLC is very much the norm up until touchdown.
-
That's before ED planned the SC afaik.
-
Pitch for speed/AOA, power for descent rate. DLC for fine adustments. It's a constant dance of power, stick inputs and trimming to keep it on speed, on glidepath. Literally forget everything you know from the Hornet.
-
Sure. It's just that if you have it set to an axis you might be getting false input spikes interfering with it. I remember there being an odd bug like that with it in the past.
-
What is your DLC bound to? An axis or a buttons?
-
I honestly don't care as long as it's HB level of detail and the IFLOLS works for the Tomcat specifically.
-
Or a Phantom.

The only issue with DCS is though that you don't have depth perception and 3D view allowing your eyes to focus on something outside the glass. I think they are fine currently and they do vary from aircraft to aircraft depending on canopy geometry and glass. Much better than baked reflections.
-
Sure but all of that work is separate from livery corrections (like the rail hole on most of the HGU-33 helmets on the B or livery sepcific pilot textures for the A like we have on the B). Small details do matter. Hopefully once the early and IRIAF A come out we'll have a wide array of -A liveries by then.

I wouldn't expect anything in the next 2 years quite frankly (in terms of the FF one).

Too "glassy" and reflective water.
Skysurfer replied to Skysurfer's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
Again, there is no sense of structure and waves when flying above 1000 feet - it looks like a sea of stationary glue right now and you don't get a sense of speed or altitude. It's probably the new shaders in 2.7 but the sea did look much better in prior DCS iterations. -
reported earlier Weird looking ship wake/wave pattern in 2.7.
Skysurfer replied to Skysurfer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well, the issue I described is simply the flat, reflective look of water at anything above 200ft, you dont see any waves or sea structure like you could before 2.7. The ship wake and the linear 3d waves are also pretty immersion breaking - waves don't behave this way and if anything spread in width and decrease in amplitude the farther they separete from the ship. Hopefully this area gets improved sooner rather than later. -
The 24 autopilot and guidence are still very WIP.

Will current FC3 bugs be addressed in MAC?
Skysurfer replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
MAC won't have anything to do with DCS nor will it be FC3 level. -
Have to disagree here completely. You can do mostly the same speed with a full A2A loadout. The Mig-21 for example models these limitations - (your engine cuts out). Since the Viggen doesn't have variable intakes I assume the same would happen to it as well. It is simply a matter of choice not to model it than anything else since the data and limitations are clearly present in the manuals. But I would have to agree with that it's definitely top 3 or top 4 of all current DCS modules.

2.7 Viggen Patch 14-04-2021 Feedback Thread
Skysurfer replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
The legs on the pilot body still don't move with rudder or brake application as well as some clipping issues on the stick and the dude not being properly strapped in. -
It's a very unique aircraft compared to most western or eastern jets - given it's mostly analogue and works off of weapon mode rotary knobs and the CK37 computer with its codes it is rather easy to pick up (easier than a F-16 or Hornet with their numerous pages and settings). What the Viggen is really good at is pre-planned low level pop attacks, or anti-ship strikes, even in bad weather. It is also an excellent visual interceptor, being able to carry 4x AIM-9L's and 2x AIM-9 J's. Flying wise it is fairly easy to fly and it's pretty stable - one thing that can catch you off guard is the transsonic mach tuck requiring substantial amounts of trim. However, it is still in Early Access and has its isues like going to fast on the deck, taking absurd amounts of damage and flying without wings etc. As well as various other bugs with weapons and systems. The Viggen was my first full fidelity modules in DCS and I truly enjoyed my time with it until the Tomcat came along. Overall I'd really recommend it on a sale as you'll probably have a ton of fun with it and something new to leard. Who doesn't love Mach 1.45 tree skimming and valley flying?

Currently the water looks like a matt mirror at altitude giving one no perception of height or speed, only from like 10ft over the water one can make out waves. Clouds should also not be reflecting in salt water. Definitely a huge downgrade from 2.5.

Shouldn't it be based on AOA and not speed?
-
With radar on, heavy clouds and low level I maybe see like a 5fps drop at most, nothing compared to the frame-collapse we had in the past.

More light or reflexes on arms at night

Yes, nevermind, Jester didn't actually have the stores selected. No issues.
-
ACM jettison also doesn't seem to work.
-
Weird, I had the 7MH loft for a 5nm headon high closure shot. In multiplayer.
-
Source? I.e. where did you get these numbers from?
