  1. In my experience with this, it just "might" be caused by the fact that the engines are fed by fuel that work with the help of gravity. So there is a special pump that activates to pump fuel if gravity is no longer doing the job for about 10 seconds. Try flying upside down for that long, you will experience engine loss. Anywho, I figured this was the problem when i tried to fly upside down, and immediately pushed my stick forward to keep the nose level with horizon, so in about 3 seconds of inverted flight, my engines cut off due to the excessive negative Gs i was putting my aircraft through where the pumps could no longer pump fuel to the engines. My suspicion is that it is the same culprit. Did you dive on your target by simply pushing the nose of the plane down, or did you roll the aircraft inverted, push back on the stick, and roll back when you were close to your dive angle? That's the way it's supposed to be.
  2. You're right about that one. There is a point where it's just too late to apply yaw trim and you just spin out of control, only option left is to eject. Pretty sure I experienced this on both engine failures. Today I played on a server that a guy was testing. Extremely terrible conditions. Took 4 tries to start the aircraft, as the engine would cut off every single goddamn time on the runway. Manually restarted the engine and got to the runway, started rolling, then 3/4th of the way there, my right engine goes out... :( I struggle to pull up, now my left gear wont come up... now Im frantically trying to turn right around to land, and its already too late, as the plane just yaws to far to the right no matter how much rudder I use, that it just rolls over as it's yawing and blamo... into the ground. PS: Are lightning strikes modeled in DCS? As we were trying to start up our planes, at some point my friend said he just got hit by lightning. Lost power, had a lot of master cautions, but engines were still ok. I never heard the lighting strike, but he said for him he heard it. Wanted to make sure if it's the wind that's causing these problems or it was really a lightning strike.
  3. The airforce doesnt think it would be a good idea to mount a TGP as an internal instrument on the belly when not carrying a middle pylon? Just a little bulge on the understide, where it would not be masked half the time as much in flight as when having it on the wing. Plus no more losing your target because the TGP cannot see behind itself...
  4. Is there any way to stop the aircraft from rolling by itself on ramp start? It has been happening on multiple servers with many friends online in random areas and spots. It has nothing to do with our throttle... I know the A10 does not have a parking break, and IRL they put the slippers on the wheels, but I also heard a rumor that there is a parking break at the foot pedals somewhere, might not be true. Usually when I engage the nose wheel steering on start up, it stops it from rolling, but that doesnt always work. I find myself in the field quite a lot.... Im pretty sure it's the wind but... Any plans on a work around for this?

  6. The what and what now? Please... tell us more! (No, seriously...) PS, I went to the IFFCC and played around with some options like turning on the Tapes in the display, where it makes it look like an F15 HUD, pretty cool, then there was one option I cannot remember, that each time I would press the weapons release on a bomb or maverick, the hud would flash twice with weird writing for under a second, and then go back to normal. LOL, what the hell??
  7. If you are going to change the interface a tad bit, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD INCLUDE THE VERSION OF DCS YOU HAVE RUNNING IN A CORNER SOMEWHERE!!!!!!!! I hate starting the SP, editor, credits and finding it out there. WAYYyyyyy too time consuming for something that should be right effin there... Especially when trying to connect to a MP server, you can sort of figure, Uh oh... wrong version. Download patch!
  8. Actually change those buttons onthe track IR program. F8 f7 f10 f12 most of those are buttons used for the track ir. Make a new profile, change what those buttons will be, and presto! Use that profile when playing.

NO no, since the patch I crash about 50% more of the time, random drop outs, and last night I learned that if you watch your CBUs, you risk CTD, which happened to me twice, if you drop 2 CBUs at the same time (105s) it crashes the server (8 people disconnected at the same time), etc and so forth. By far, this was the buggiest patch ever. The only two good things I can say are the TGP fix and the CBU animation... not that I can watch it from the F6 view, since I risk crashing lol. Not to mention the SEVERE master server problem with servers not being shown up, and the fact that the UP TIME clock on those servers that is listed (how long its been up) is also screwed up. Says its been up for 5 minutes, refresh, and it says its been up for 14 hours, refesh, and its been up for 5 hours, lol. Im not writing these things down because I want to shame you, but just to say prove that this is NOT a stable patch and that hot fix couldnt be coming sooner lol. I still love the game and play it as much as possible... in between the crashes... and bugs... and... yeah.. you get the point. +1 for patch release!!!
  10. I have a curvature of about 30ish, for pitch and roll, but almost 40 for rudders to get my gunning accuracy perfect.
  11. ugh... such an amazing game... such a crappy multiplayer interface.... Just like it takes Indiana Jones to find out what version you have running, by starting up mission editor, then help credits, then its displayed in the fine print. Why not have it on the bottom somewhere in the main menu??? Is it supposed to be a secret from yourself? :)
  12. Hey, love when your server is up, its one of the very few unlocked ones. Dont worry about the crashes. Its the patches fault. One request though, MOAR NIGHT MISSIONS!!! Lol. I have downloaded the huge map pack by DRAGON in the missions section, and he does have some interesting maps there, but rarely do we see bad weather, or night missions... Would love to see that more often. Makes for some interesting laser night shows (feels like a rave party in the air) and it makes for some interesting landings in bad weather hahaha
  13. Lots of servers still not showing up on list... ehh.... You cannot join by direct IP either. Those IPs listed on the server titles, dont work.
  14. You are not the only ones. Every so often ALL of my friends including myself get it too.... Unfortunately, this game is not very well optimized for multiplayer...

  16. Yeah, but that's still not right... It shouldn't be this hard... Sadly some of these missions just aren't really made that well. You sure you read the mission briefing right? If there is a JTAC that can help, or look at the F10 map to spot remaining armor or what not?
  17. I use HOF 1500 instead of 1800. 1800 seems to drift off like a bitch. I also noticed that let's say you do a run south to north on a scatter of metal. Instead of putting the SPI on the middle of the scatter, you would need to put the SPI a tad bit SOUTH of where you are intending. You will see the CBU then drops the munitions DEAD ON. I suppose it depends on the direction of the wind as well. I played Rookie terrorist with a bunch of friends, and needless to say, it was a MASSACRE with one CBU with that technique just DEMOLISHING like 9 pieces of armor in one run. It made me tear up.
  18. That might be it. I have it down below 50 so I can hear my friends on vent while flying. Thank you sir. I ran into a problem/bug/observation lately. As of this patch release, the game is the MOST UNSTABLE I have EVER seen. I have 6 people playign with me and one by one in various moments, everybody gets disconnected from different servers due to different reasons. Crashes and system failures, etc and so forth. Not to mention the lack of servers popping up on the server list, that I KNOW are there. For example, they show up in my HISTORY, but not in the actual master server list. Direct IP input also fails, by trying to put the IP listed on the title of the server to connect to it. Is this a known issue? I knew it was bad before this 1.1.1 release, but now it seems atrocious. Additionally, I have found a thing that happens in the DSMS. When changing the HOF on the CBUs in the INVENTORY page, you go back to DSMS after setting the HOF up, and then you select the 4 CBUs, and go for your attack run. You will note that the CCIP/CCRP line is missing. You actually need to go back to the DSMS, and deselect the bombs, and REselect the again. Is this just a systems thing? Additionally, more of a question here, when in the DSMS setting up your weapons, you can only set up one set of weapons and then you have to use them before moving on to the next set of profile changes because the second you profile change, lets say, CBUs, and then go and Profile change GBUs, the CBUs reset to default settings. Is there a way to make the changes stay the way they are so you are able to set up multiple profile changes at the same time?
  19. Yep, something close to him, on the DAM mission. First time I played it through I got killed at various altitudes, so I just went as high as my engines would take me. Needless to say it took a good 2 minutes to turn around 180 degrees at that altitude. Any sudden movement causes you to roll inverted and start falling. But you can go to the bathroom and be back in time to watch the bomb hit from that high. :) Took long, but it also helped find targets at that height, not too close.

  23. i have never to date had a problem dropping bombs on moving targets using auto laze as long as you lase for the correct amount of time. I have dropped from 10k and then 25k and same thing, I just adjust the laze time according to my altitude. I see it as your altitude minus 2 to 5, and thats your laze time. So at 18000 i laze for 15, and for 20000 i laze for 15-18, etc and so forth.
  24. By the way MOA, looks like the JTAC was bugged that entire round. Nobody could get in touch with it, we had a bunch of people come and go in the server, and nobody was able to get a handle on it at any point throughout the mission.
