I've never had a rolling scissors fight that was that close to me before. It was intense, like pucker factor 10.

Interactive Introduction to A-10C Training
ralfidude replied to AFAlinebacker42's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I will be an instructor on this as well, but instead of just telling you what button to press, I will be explaining to you exactly what that button is, and what it does. Pushing buttons is easy, but it's understanding your systems that is harder. Besides, should you screw up your startup procedure, you wouldn't know how to troubleshoot around it otherwise. It's fairly simple, but a pen and paper won't hurt. -

I can concurr that since two patches ago, the 38's have somehow decreased in accuracy. I'm able to get 8/10 spot on, but then there are the odd 2/10 hits that are just a few feet off, and we all know that a bomb landing next to a tank means it's still fine. Obviously I know how to deploy JDAMs, so I can say without a shadow of a doubt that something changed not too long ago. I started to designate my SPIs just before drop point to maximize the SPI accuracy, and it's worked out the same exact way. There are still misses, they are seldom, but they do happen. I just took it as GBU 38 inaccuracy that got implemented. I mean I have been dropping GBUs since the beta without any problems, I don't see how I would start doing something wrong now.

We all know the track play back is absolutely terrible and it accumulates errors in the thousands fairly quickly, however does anybody have any tips or tricks to get a track working more or less as it should for as long as possible? For instance I have seen that a track will play back more correctly if you do NOT take over the camera, and just let it play out as it did originally. Also excessive speeding up will also cause the track to go off track quicker. As well as disabling mods will help. There is a particular shot I want of something that happened which was just too cool to pass on on a track that is no longer than 8 minutes, but the track screws up half way through RIGHT at the moment that awesome shot took place by making it seem like my plane crashed into the ground. This is annoying and I am looking for any more tips that you guys might have that makes your tracks play back correctly (or AS correctly as possible) that I might not know.

You do not use breaks for landing until the last very bit. If you landed in the right speed then you might not even need breaks for landing at all. As for take off with someone else, no need for breaks if you do it right. Now if you STILL need to use breaks then do what I do, put an equal amount of breaking pressure in, and then just use the rudder pedals to get rid of any side slippage. Perhaps ease off one of the breaks if it's really too much. In the end, what you are doing here is this business: Tapping your head and making circles on your stomach with the other hand.

It's just a shame you had to use that ridiculously overused song. Other than that, good job!

Operation Piercing Fury - MP Campaign
ralfidude replied to Ranger79's topic in User Created Missions General
Hey Ranger, sorry about the no updates, but we are having some issues gathering people on a particular time to play so we still have not been able to record anything. I am reading some issues with 1.2.7 so I guess it's a good thing we held off, is it playable or are there any adjustments that need to be done? -
Fighter pilots, what is your general tactic?
ralfidude replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
120s are still a joke and need work. In anycase, I don't really fly the flankers much, but I have noticed and seen that the goddamn missiles fired at relatively low altitude tend to lose track for no reason. Are the ERs just THAT bad at tracking a target? I was told that backscatter in the background causes the missiles to lose lock and you are better off firing from down low UP on your target. Reference this little part in the video at 6:25 where it's not even a nose down aspect, and the ER just doesn't even bother: But at 2:20 it tracks JUST FINE in a pretty nose down scenario... -

Ok, this is good! I was afraid it was that flaming cliffs 3 promo video that made a lot of peoples eyes twitch. That one was a no no. -
Ricardo, share a link here when it's up.

What he said. This isn't for you. I love it when people get this 'realistic simulator' and expect to hop in and play it like it's "Battlesh*t" or S"h*t Thunder". At that point you have completely missed the point of a simulator. So if you don't like it, go elsewhere as this isn't for you. Not trying to be a dick, but it's just the truth. Some people love this, others hate it. It's not mainstream for a reason.

Lol there was no flare for that landing. Looks like they land it like F-18s on a carrier. -
We don't usually fly Russian aircraft, but when we do, it's a good damn time! I know that we aren't the best at this, but given that this was the first time Linebacker was flying the Russian beast I'd say he's a fast learner, and I'm a good goddamn teacher. Enjoy!

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration

It worked for a split second when I hosted my own server, but I have no idea how I got it to work, or how to do it again... This is annoying. -

Gotcha, was missing that first part. Still, however, not working. I have tried hosting my own server as well. We are also suffering the same thing. Uninstalled Nvidia Experience, changed port to 48102, and still same problem. We have a major recording coming up on Saturday but we just can't seem to get this to work.
