Tips on landing in poor visibility weather without ILS
Succellus replied to exodus's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Excellent +1 rep. Anyway, if you can t see the strip your too high, if you crash your too low, there s always the in between as long you have a waypoint on the airport. Even if your retasked to snow plower on your next mission. -
Hard to get a job if he s 15 years old. Althoguht his well articulated and lack of rage answer make me think he is more than 15.

COnsidering for example that starcraft 2 lasted 1 week on my PC and now is idle. That it got a drop of 80% on subs, because in the end of the day its more of the same starcraft....and was 30bucks. Well 60 bucks for a game that you will probably not play well after 3 weeks, but when you master it after 2 month the playing will just have begun, 60 is quite low. EX: for WOW you pay 15 bucks a month (i don t play that kind of crap anymore) its mean after 4 month of wow, without the box that is payd... 60 bucks, you will have reached DCS price. My statement will be pricky but: Stop playing crappy MMO for 4 month. You ll have many benefits: 1) you ll buy DCS 2) You ll dexintoxicate from those craps and find them awesomely sille once back 3) You will save around 200 bucks a year, which is more than enought to upgrade your pc or make something diferent than mindless MMO. (So far they are all the same anyway)

How to safely engage T-72 tanks for a guns kill?
Succellus replied to -Ice's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That why i play label off, but its muchuchuch harder ... and nasty surprises are more comon and nasty. -
i would pay 1.5 the actuall price easely. And if crap stuff like COD can ask 60 for changes in some pixel you got to be kidding. These (DCS) will will last much more than the more of the same FPS average couple of month you ll get out there.

Looking for CH Product input...
Succellus replied to element1108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had issue with the FX, the throttle sticking and having to clean it several time, and had to change CH rudder pot once, on the positive factor is while i switched the pots i modded it for toe brake. As a side information none of them was USB, so you can guess how old this info is. As a side note, the throttle is uglyer than my butt not that confortable and now very underfunctional comparable to other top hotas. The rudders are cramped not being wide enought for someone above 1m70. I had to use the edge to push the pedals to be confortable. But in overall they are as reliable as the best sets if not more, and suppport is certainly more efficient than TM. -
Are you happy with your thrustmaster warthog
Succellus replied to con3para's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well so far i m unplugged it when not using (only the throttle). I have forgotten it plugged a couple of time with no issue. Mine also had a diference from most report my led never stayed light up. They only did it the first time i plugged it while windowswas seeking drivers and then when i upgraded the firmware it blinked couple of time, then always off, even when i plug it and unplug it it doesn t even blink. -
Afaik TM, although loving to realease faulty products and getting kicked in the teeth providing free replacement (go figure...) has an advantage for DCS A10 only. The cougar is discontinued and although i loved mine its not worth it anymore. With the X65, g940 and CH it had become an inferior product which is normal after 10 years (not counting the modded ones). CH seems to be taking a hell of a time to release theyr A10C replica. If they could take this change the space between their rudders and cut off the feet holders it would be a winner althoguh still uggly as hell. As for Rudders i got Saitek theyr are beautifull but ok only. They slide easely so i guess i will only enjoy them when i fix them. But th build could be a little better even if confortable. And dont fool yourself Saitek rudde system are all the same, pro or non pro. Just visuall change, confort and visuall are relative.

Lazaris. In most games the axis must be set ingame. If you can t setthe axis its a game limitation. In old games this is especially true as when they where built there was a much bigger axis and button limitation. There also the fact that a lot of game doesn t accept/recognize 2 game controlers. As for BS the throttle come with a pre-setting. If i would cousel you, i would say to you to not program ingame. If able print the ingame settings and in the warthog/cougar program like foxit/TARGET. It take times, its PITA but this way you can easely distribute the basic layers. In the warthog i would recomend the S4 for in out and the pinky as U,M,D. Dont be afraid to screw some presetting programing in favor to a more extensive, more intuitive programing to you. Its not like you gonna climb inside an A10, pilots have much more buttons availiable :) Another counsel. Set yourself a programing in a game you like and play/ will play much. Program so you feel confortable. Then, try to replicate the same mindset/button function distribution in each other game. This way you minimise the re-learn factor each time you fly another game. I am starting to do this myself with DCS A10 myself. This mean i will have to re-learn a new mindset and then adapt to the other games like BS, FC2 su33, ROF, IL2COD, Xterran, F4 and whatever comes around. Its time taking, its brain frying, but it pays a lot in the end.

Warthog owner Eng Oper switch
Succellus replied to Succellus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
ok thanks only a doubt -
Here a question. Does your left and right Eng. oper switches stay on IGN position ? Or do they fall back to Norm when you realease them ? When you put them to IGN do you hear a "clic" or not ? Thank you

nice this could be interesting if coupled with the right instrument and if simulation efectively give a signal to be read

Well althought english have many similarities you don t have the exact same pronouciation meaning 5 diferent things just by inflection, which is scary to me, and most have kind of fun relation (like mother and cow)as it has been said. Also any kind of scripting in represenation, like Japonese, Chinese and so many others asiatic languages is only subjective after some point. Thats why nobody know all Chinese Character and if any know all japonese characters. The latin alfabet (and some others) try to avoid this rationalizing the scripting to a combination of a few characters.(Which come to the extreme and funny German championship of the longest word) Looking at those 2 aspects occidental is easyer than oriental, but oriental has a broader range of detailing even if a lot of the scripting fall in "obsolescence" due to no use. There only one way to really learn any language: a passion linked to it. If you don t connect something you really need /like to the language your trying to learn, you ll never pass good, if that much. And there s worst... most languages requires diferent uses of the same muscles (which get used in our childhood to operate in usually one or 2 forms connected to language learning) thats why people from some languages are utterly challenged to correctly reproduce sounds and words from some foreign languages. which can lead to dramatic mistakes in languages leaded by inflection. There also the mindset behind the language that affect much of the language structure, learning a gramatically foreign language is a good way to avoid alzheimer, but men, you gonna sufferrrrr.

Um static world non interactive (blowable) i bet. Just a layer of picture from medium to high alt. i guess. When you get down its the same of A10 but more colorfull.

Back on Map topic. AFAIR A10C playground has been expanded from BS. Is there any plan to realease an updated map in big size ? And is the actuall PDF manual of the release the final or will it suffer adjustment. I don t want to print now then have to reprint unassemble and reassemble. I can wait, so no trouble. there s already so much information in the beta manual i can handle in my spare time. But learning from PDF is PITA.

Well for me what killed Empire for me was the settings. I m not too found of people stupidly ranking one on front of each others and shooting, i mean, spray and praying without cover nor going prone. it goes beyond my intelect.... Second point is ... a country is basicly the same as the other which is the same as the other and so on. I bought Empire total war (goty or the like) and installed the darthmode. Well after a week i was feed up. Ai wasn t that bright, basicly same as Rome. Take a cavalry flank lure into your infantry, rince and repeat. Well i didn t bought napoleon for the same reason. I much prefer clash caos. My favorite is Rome, second Medieval 2. I loved Shogun fo the cenário, i really hope Shogun2 will shine. Assault on castle and many other features give it the potential to be the best. But is long gone the age i fall for any hype. Especially CA that promises each time a revolution and hardly deliver. (exept Rome). AI is ever the same since rome Naval battle where a sad joke, better block up and leave it to auto battle It seems Napoleon had some advance but i m not in the mood too waste my time seeing people line up like dummies and shoot at each others like someone shooting plastics ducks in a fair while praying not to be hit like a plastic duck in a fair.

Are you happy with your thrustmaster warthog
Succellus replied to con3para's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, so far i m very happe with my pig. Althought i have some obs. that are probably dhu! First thing its the fact the stick is projected to be really fixed, if not it tend to slide a little. This mean its uncomfortable in my almost desktop setting, and i am really happy only with him beetween the legs making pressure on the plate again the chair cushion. (try to picture that ;) ) Other thing is that mine came with some tension almost Cougar like. It may be a grease issue like other got...so i should look into it. The second is that the friction wheel of the throttle (the real one not the mock up) gos from suck to blow...it does nothing and i am not the only one to have observed this Apart from those tiny things i find the T.A.R.G.E.T is a real hit and miss, some part of it like presentation can be vastly improved. The greater shame thought is the fact TM has no Rudder system and TARGET won t integrate any system so in some games its a PITA. Apart from that i m still programing it and learning to use, and its great, quite superior to my modded cougar. I was surprised how bad was my cougar stick (floppy center probably by overuse and material wear) after i handled it to a friend and showing some stuff to it.
