How are you going to implement the air to ground stuff alongside I assume F-15 avionics?
-
In that case perhaps the default release order makes sense now. always left-right-left-right
-
for flight model reference the CFTs have a drag index of about 21 total, the wing bags about 5.5 each and the centerline tank about 12
-
if you've already made up your mind don't sweat it I don't want to clog up the thread with this
-
you are of course free to do what you want with the mod but this bit is not true for the "bomber" CFTs
-
a pipe dream i'm sure but can we take the cfts off
-
F-15 flight model seems to be missing some low weight, high altitude, high speed turn performance. For simplicity's sake I'll just say the Eagle at 33.5k lbs and ~36k feet should be able to hold 5gs from m1.6 to redline
-
ah the EF2000 acceleration, truly she is a mighty jet. various figures abound on the internet, brakes off to 36k and m1.6 in 150s, or m0.9 to m2.0 in 2min at 36k feet. Quicker than the bird from 1972 for sure, only the -229 F-15E without CFTs that we won't be getting, could hang with that. Aside from the Raptor of course. I did see something earlier that was inaccurate; the APG-70 does start building track files in the background, on hits in RWS

F-15EX Mod
henshao replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
gbu-28 is close, israel uses F-15D wing station to haul their 3.5t silver sparrow BMD target missiles -
The tomcat will usually show up on RWR at ~55 miles, at which point the missile has been in flight for a while although it is not my intention to put a ton of effort into bug documentation ITT I will provide a track for this one f15cf14RWRdistancebug.trk

The F-14 is able to take long range AIM-54 shots at the F-15, before it even appears on RWR

You could argue gulf war '91 was the greatest projection of power in the history of man; one of the most heavily fortified countries on earth at the time was successfully overthrown by another country 7000 miles away. There is another conflict going on currently between bordering countries that isn't nearly so one-sided. In combination with other assets, the F-15's perfect game in the air established complete air dominance. "Not a pound for air to ground" honestly applies more to the pilot than the machine, as McDonnell basically built in a mach 2 A-7 into the F-15A as mentioned. It's a lot easier to make fighter into a bomber than the other way around. But USAF has 50 different ways to put warheads on foreheads, they could afford to reserve one platform in particular to be completely unencumbered mentally by anything besides its primary mission. The F-15's combination of attributes, including the eye of sauron radar, kinematic performance, maneuvering ability, and profuse payload proved to be the right call. If you examine what a kill chain requires in air to air combat you will see the Eagle is top tier at every step. It finds them, identifies them as hostile, intercepts them, successfully attacks them and avoids harm to itself in the process.

the Rmax1, Rmax2, Range turn and run, and Rmin envelopes for the selected weapon should be displayed whenever radar track exists but I guess you think this is a feature only of Russian aircraft
-
STT is not required for dynamic launch zone calculation.
-
No launch range information being given for AIM-7 when in track while scan, AIM-9 and AIM-120 work fine
-
the APG-63v1 should be "superior" to the APG-70
-
When firing missiles, radar in track while scan is no longer stepping through targets on the radar display. HUD is target stepping is fine. this must have been broken sometime in the past year
-
hopefully the radar pass over the f-18 and f-16 also affects all ED modules in terms of lookdown performance and track ranges
-
hy if they make a change and inexplicably don't put it in the changelog that's not on you bruv from left to right we have an A-50, F-18, F-16, F-16CM, and Su-25
-
Uh, I got that from the F-15?
-
Think they'll let you install CFTs on the light grey eagle?
-
great so now the AIM-54C is more advanced than the AIM-120

a workaround I found when carrying 3+ missile types and unable to select sidewinder: with AMRAAM selected, select mode (6) "longitudinal aiming" and sidewinder is automatically selected, though you will lose radar search. Similarly, AMRAAM is automatically selected when pressing mode (2) beyond visual range bugs: HUD should display aircraft mach in all modes (currently missing in Nav mode) engines sometimes do not start or restart when commanded, though the JFS can be heard running There should be an indication for which of the two available modes RWR is in There should be a way to silence/deselect sidewinders when they are the only type remaining VSD missing several things, some are: shoot cues for AIM-9/AIM-7/AIM-120, display of programmed steerpoints, cursor/target bearing range and dashed line from selected steerpoint (bullseye), numeric altitude coverage above 60k or below 0 feet (display can go into negatives), TWS high or medium prf, STT high or medium PRF (if modeled), rough target altitude in RWS/actual altitude in TWS mode when cursor place over a target (radar remembers on which scan bar the hit was made), and probably target hot/cold symbols (we have APG-63v1), azimuth symbols for targets 10nm beyond selected search distance or 5nm beyond guns auto distance (so 10-15nm)

flight performance data for clean -220 and -229 F-15E can be found in, amazingly, flight manual fighter CFTs have drag index of ~4, -4 CFTs have drag index of ~20, -5 CFTs ~21. 3.3 each wing pylon which are I guess are technically optional 2 wing tanks drag index ~5.5 each on otherwise clean airplane but 3.3 for each obviously mandatory pylon

An F-15E without the CFTs would require Razbam to develop, when they are primarily an advertising company. Let the companies stay what they are intended for.
