Hey man, WRT spring tension I've used both the X45 and the X52, like you allude to the 45 is quite stiff, however the 52 is its polar opposite. I actually can't stand the 52 myself as it is so limp in comparison to others, however it might be just what the doctor ordered for yourself. Other than the limp springs it's great, I'd definately recommend it for you.

250 ping is fine for lomac, you shouldn't be seeing someone warp like this if you both had ~250. If one of you was +500 or 600 I'd expect to see what you were seeing, however 250 is usually silky smooth, as opposed to first person shooters, for which it is high.

I don't know how you do it but you raise the bar with each movie you make. Another classic, your cinematography continues to improve. The sound effects were superb, nice job.

As high as you can go and 90% throttle. 90% rpm is best range setting for gas turbine engines, seems to be modelled pretty well.

Has anyone covered the fact that in 1.02 SARH missiles were much less effective than they are in 1.12, and AMRAAM was much MORE effective than it is in 1.12? That was a great deal of the reason why for most of 2004 the 169th Server did not allow Aim-120, so that there was more close in fighting. AMRAAM was just too good and F-15's rightly owned the Flankers. Now days a typical 169th A2A loadout includes Aim7's. You wouldnt have heard of that in the 1.02 days when people had the choice (in other servers). It use to be the big challange that the better pilots would fly the russian jets against the F-15. Now F-15 radar has been made less effective than iin 1.02 (eg TWS scan elevation no longer following target) and the Aim-120 is pretty average. This returns a "game" balance to Lock On, for whatever reason. The person that started this thread is quite simply a noob. If they had been around in the days of 1.02, they wouldn't be complaining.

It would be interesting if the various squads, S77th, IA, 504, 44th, JaBog, RVE and anyone I've forgotten made a push for just one whole weekend to really hammer each other in that mini war. For instance, half the squads go blue the other half red, and over the course of the weekend just fly as many sorties as people can. Would be a great community squadmatch. Wouldn't take much organising, if we just specified a date and squads showed up whenever they could, no particular time. Is there much interest in this from other squads? BTW Downloading video now. Why the hell is this thread still active? No one here has access to any classified data and almost no one here has ever flown a jet fighter... They're both really cool jets lets leave it at that! Why debate it? Will any fighterpilot or test pilot EVER qualify to fly both and know for sure...unlikely. Every person on this forum is basing their arguments on their own perception of video footage of each jet and/or the articles and commentary of self proclaimed aviation "experts" (who also don't have access to classified data). Anyone who thinks they know more is either full of crap or shouldn't be posting it! Seeing as no one is qualified to declare which one is better, why argue it? So many pages of heated to-and-froe arguments...just go play lock on online!

I spose someone COULD use it as a cheat...but who wants to sit there being an awacs for their side? F that I say. The only people organised enough to do that are squads, and squads are the least likely to cheat IMO. I think it's unlikely to be exploited effectively, and at the end of the day it's up to the person footing the bill for the server right? I actually wish I could see something different in the Air-Air servers from time to time, ie night missions, limited loadout missions (SARH only) poor weather (don't winge about FPS just get the fast overcast mod or dont join the server). But everyone is entitled to their opinion... ...as invalid as they may be... :-D

I'd definately like to see map view as long as I didn't see anyone else on it, just myself. When I fly IRL my map is the top sheet on my kneepad and I'm always referencing it. Map view isn't entirely realistic however it almost makes up for not being able to look at a knee map.

Need a volunteer to redo R77 so it doesnt smash your frame rate.

Track IR hands down, then rudder pedals, voice rec a distant 3rd. I use to use it for Janes F-15 for the WSO controls and wingmen/awacs which was great. I wouldn't use it much for Lomac as I only play online.
