  1. Looks good man. For RVE and Jabog_32, I'll be the co-ordinator from 3sqn, who should I be speaking to from your squads? It would be good to get together soon and work on some stuff.
  2. Haha, didnt see the little "z" at the end there. Nice save. But yeah, still ignorant of the aussies.
  3. For some reason I do not have the aircraft number displaying on the tail after installing this mod. Only realised it yesterday. Anyone know why this might be?
  4. "The Recordist" is awesome, really good quality sounds there, the Hornet ones sound right on. Something I've never heard in a recording is the really deep bass of the jet start up. When a Hornet or Hawk starts, there is the most incredible bass sound. You can hear it but the best bit is that you can FEEL it, even inside a building a few hundred meters away. Quite a low frequency. GA or anyone have this sound effect? Kind of sounds like a massive vacuum cleaner being turned on.
  5. I'm pretty sure we've all THOUGHT about purchasing 1 x Standard Issue imperial star destroyer too... Gees I'd REALLY be in the Red after that!
  6. Hey man sounds good. And just because they are available doesn't mean the blue team will actually want to fly them, they may prefer to just go with Hog's on the day...who knows? Keep us posted. Also, have you given thought to what era you want this set in? As per GG's comment about Mig29A's being quite numerous, you could decree that its pre-1990's, therefore semi-actives only. Or cira 1992, F-15's have amraam but only 2 per jet. Or you could say to hell with making it difficult, and just leave it the way it is lol
  7. HERE HERE!! 3Sqn would back that...sick of 5G grey out! But whatever. 3Sqn will get back to you shortly with names/numbers. We are relatively flexible on the times as stated previously and would make an effort to stay up quite late if it meant a whole extra squad could be included (ie Jabog32). We have no limitation on aircraft type to fly, or what type of role, although we specialise in Air-Air, but would run a training package to get up to speed on A-G/SEAD if assigned that role. For 3sqn, the rules/fairness/kudos of the excercise are less important than just getting out there and flying it. We will endevour not to make special requests/ultimatums, we'll just be there. Fudd, again, let us know what we can do to help. Get back to you with approximate numbers soon.
  8. I know what you mean with regards to the image chop top and bottom, however I reakon you won't be disappointed. I was setting up lock on on my mates new PC with 22'' widescreen and I was annoyed at first by the chop, however you soon come to love the extra viewable side distance. When I came home back to my 19'' 4:3, I immediately decided on an upgrade. I'm yet to get it but can't wait!
  9. Looking for a lineup/formation card, in particular the Falcon 4 one. If anyone has an electronic copy please post here.
  10. Mate that's awesome, looking forward to your next work!
  11. 3Sqn is in, great idea! We're in a good position at the moment with squad activity, and would be able to contribute up to a dozen members to flying and planning. Our primary time zones are Australia and US, so on average from 0000Zulu on Saturday mornings we'd be able to present a minimum of 8 guys. Generally 0000Z-1400Zulu Saturday and Sunday is the time we could give max attendance, however we can flex on that a bit. We have a server that I think can handle 16-20, which might be a bit small. GG Tharos, I like your thinking. 159th Fudd, just let us know, either in this thread or via our forums, what you need us to do, and we'll get on it. Mission building, organising rosters etc assisting in any way to get this going, let us know and we'll do it. 504th and 44th are very experienced in this sort of match up, for ease of invention you might want to consider just expanding on the format they've already got going.
  12. This vid doesn't show anything different to what was on CNN on the day it happened, and you can't see him "pulling too hard on the stick".
  13. I suppose if you were able to work the logistics of it out, you could have a campaign being run on a server, and make it US vs Europe. A certain number of objectives need to be taken out, you have a certain number of aircraft to start with, have a massive campaign running for 48 hours. Ofcourse you'd need to reset the PC every few hours, with all the wreckage!
  14. Thanks TuKewl, I've borrow a cougar and am quite liking it. Thanks for the link!
  15. FYI The 52 Pro feels exaclty the same as the 52 WRT springs. I tried them both out next to each other last week, there has been no change in the spring tension department.
  16. Don't change a thing GA, your movies are awesome. Your way of doing business is what makes it original.
  17. Cheers for the advice but after 4 years of use I've been really happy with my ABII, I definately prefer it to the X52. I downgraded from an early batch cougar. It's either ABII or I go CH/Cougar in a few weeks.
  18. I'm looking to get a new Thrustmaster Afterburner II Hotas. They use to retail for about 90 bucks at Harvey Norman and you could often get them off the net. I can't find any, they seem to be discontinued. Has anyone else seen them around recently?
  19. http://hirevsims.com/ Has anyone done business with these guys or called and asked how much they charge for a HOTAS?
  20. The X52 is unrealistically sloppy, while the X45 is a bit too stiff. The cougar stick doesn't feel anything like a real controller because of its dual springs however the throttle is quite nice. I haven't tried a logitech. Generally the control feel will stiffen with increasing speed, and because you can't simulate this is why its so easy to over G at high speeds in lomac. In reality the stick would be so heavy that you could move it quite small amounts very precisely. But I just can't use the X52, it's just so sloppy. I think if I mounted it lower and centered it between my legs I could use it.
  21. I've sent emails to him, his blog providor, and left a message on his blog. Prick
  22. I'm looking at getting a new HOTAS. I have a Top Gun afterburner II which I really like, mainly for its simplicity and the rudder padels mounted on the throttle. I can't find any more of these sticks (the pots on mine are getting pretty crap) and am considering a second hand CH setup or an X52. Is the pro stiffer than the original? I'd need to mod the original if I was to get that, its too loose for my liking. Also, has it got rudder padels like the Top Gun and the X45? Anyone got any suggestions.
  23. http://www.mibglobal.com.au/category35_1.htm These guys are awesome. I got a RAAF F/A-18B from them a few years ago. I'm keen to get a Tomcat next...maybe a few of them!
