  1. Like I said in my post, a lot of work for a "secondary" aircraft.
  2. Yes I was noticing this myself.... hmmmm This may lend something to what I've been noticing since I first started the Beta. Switching through all of the aircraft models while in game, F-18, 16,15, etc. The F-15E is the most detailed aircraft model, next to the A-10. A lot of work for a "secondary" aircraft.
  3. Well thanks alot ED, you guys have pretty much destroyed my gaming budget for the next 3 years!!! Oh well bring it on!!!
  4. Serial #09713 Location Arizona, US
  5. Ok, I just got ahold of a Suncom SFS throttle for about $30 US. Got a cheap sb gameport soundcard to run it. No dice. It's as if I've got some bad components on the main board. Instead of trying to fix them, I'm opting for a complete rebuild. Now I would like to get a Bodnar board for this, but I'm not sure I'm ready to drop almost a $100 US yet. So I was thinking about using this board, but am not sure about the axis setup.... http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=235 If that works then cool, next I need to replace the old slide pots. Now I would like to do hall sensors, but would be happy with just plain old rotary pots, but am not real sure how to mount them on this thing. Any input would be awesome guys. Thanks in advance.
  6. That's actually a good question. I don't have anything beyond 20 to test it with. The program is set to handle 16 devices all together, and acts as a keyboard emulator, so it should detect your inputs assuming you have them programed in. Just kinda guessing here though.
  7. You could cheat, and use a program like xpadder to program each input to a key command. bypassing the need to worry about in game limitations.
  8. danke Peter, wow, I must be really tired tonight..lol
  9. Alright, I've just got to ask. What are you guys using to get all these camera angles? Is it something in game that I haven't discovered, or a third party program?
  10. I would say if you are looking for a not-so-expensive, but sturdy HOTAS system, I would have to recommend CH. The fighterstick USB and pro-throttle USB give you most of the HOTAS controls you need, and are tough as hell. The two, shouldn't set you back more than $250 US. With the programming software and very active community, you can set them up to do anything you need. I've had CH products for a while, starting with a combatstick USB. I stowed it in a box that kept getting beat around for close to six months. Pulled it out one day, hooked it up, did a quick calibration, and I was good to go. No jumpy axis, or malfunctioning buttons, like I've had with some saitek and logitech sticks I've owned in the past.
  11. Ok she's no where near as pretty, but she's still a WIP......
  12. Here's my question, you have auto lase set to 10 seconds, what's your weapon's flight time to target? If it's more than 10 seconds, then the laser shuts off before the bomb even gets close and it just starts to wobble. Try setting auto lase to 20 or 25 seconds and repeat the attack run. Just a thought.
  13. I just had a question for you fael, how did you successfully set up the release zones in xpadder? If I you could show me how you set it upI might be able to figure it out.... By the way awesome work. Trying to do something similar, but much more generic. Edit, please disregard, wow no wonder I couldn't figure it out, it was way too simple...lol
  14. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75635 post #4 from lucky bob, a really good shot of the ADI, I don't see that arrow there, but the image is a little small to be sure.
  15. Well I guess if ED wanted to do it right, they wouldn't waste the time and effort to produce such a high quality sim for us, and focus mainly on their military contracts. There are plenty of dedicated game companies out there, who do have full support teams, that take even longer to respond to support tickets, and are even less helpful. cough UBI cough. Here we actually get to speak with some of the testers, and even dev team members when they get an opportunity. I haven't seen that anywhere else.
  16. It's all about the chuckdar baby!!!
  17. Just bloody classic...
  18. Meanwhile the guy in the Ural is going... "Holy bleep, did you see that? That was the craziest bleep I have ever seen, oh my god!!!" He gets over it and continues on into town.
  19. Well in all fairness Arc I'm used to Lock On and Falcon where I'm flying aircraft that can at least skirt mach one, if not blow right past it. When I stepped into KA-50 for the first time, I felt like a slug. She is fast and nimble, it just takes time to get used to flying it to even be able to see those abilities. I am finding, however, that I am much better suited for fixed wing aircraft, but I will not give up.. Yet.... :)
  20. I always thought of the KA-50 as a slow lumbering decoy meant to draw fire away from the targets. At least that's how I felt every time I went up in the thing.
  21. If memory serves the MFD don't have a screen at all. they are just an MFD "picture frame" I believe is a good description, with functioning buttons for the MFCD commands. They have printable panels that you can put in them to mimic the actual screens. Or you could do what this guy has and purchase two small LCD monitors and fix the MFD panels to them.
  22. You build weapons to fight the big boys, and spend the rest of the time hoping to hell you never have to use them. The A-10C is a testament to twentieth century aviation. It, like the F-16, and F-15, were designed for a battle that thankfully never happened. Now we have seen that these aircraft, with relatively simple overall modifications, can still command the battlefield in ways no aircraft have ever really been able to do before. Some call it overkill, well, that is war. The victor is the one who can deploy more firepower, more accurately, more effectively, and with fewer losses than his enemy. They don't call it Shock and Awe for nothing.
  23. Not to worry, your crew chief will have a new wing on her in about three hours. Then he'll patch the shrapnel holes with duct tape and repaint. She'll look good as new for your next sortie, that will happen about seven hours after this one. It's amazing what these birds can take.
  24. I think an F-15 study would be nice. Either C or E, even though both would be even better. If no F-15 then I definitely have to go with the F/A18. There hasn't been a decent sim on that bird since Jane's F/A18.. She could definitely use some more PC time.
