Thanks for replying. It's good to know that you're working on it. So far, the campaign is very interesting and I really enjoyed it. -
Mission 13 AA over Pshada
Joe1978 replied to VsetciPokapu's topic in MiG-21bis Battle of Krasnodar Campaign
I have progressed through the entire campaign up to this mission. The issue persists here: four manpads with superhuman abilities, along with extremely precise AAA fire. Additionally, F4 and F5 effortlessly outmaneuver the Mig 23 and exclusively target you. Our Mig21, equipped solely with rockets and lacking an AI as advanced as the enemy's, becomes an easy target. The manpads seem to be the major issue; even set to a low skill level, they are exceedingly precise in DCS. Probably in this mision they are surely experts. -
I forgot to mention some details: To successfully attack the refinery (09N): At least two bombs must hit the refinery, causing more than 20% damage (the building damage model appears to be broken so you only need to do a >20% damage to destroy this) and at least half of the transport vehicles must be destroyed. I've incorporated an "easter egg" to add complexity to the refinery search, which simply requires attentiveness. The ECM mission (03) was less damaged. You just have to fly correctly between the different WPs and connect the ECMs at the right time as indicated in the mission. I have flown the fourth mission against the KA-50. It seems that there is also a problem. I will try to rewrite it in the next few days. It´s OK but unlike the enemy IA, some time our alied IA is like.

MiG-23ML & MiG-23-98 Mod Updates
Joe1978 replied to CivorodoM's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Correct, Yefim Gordon's book on the Mig23/27 details that the pilot was limited to three settings and the mechanism, which was quite basic (compared to the Tomcat/Tornado), could only be operated within a limited G-force, specifically a maximum of 4 G's if my memory serves correctly. Should you have a keen interest, I can provide all the details regarding the mechanism here. -
It has been some time since I last flew the MiG-19. Today, I observed that once airborne, the engine's ignition sequence sound repeats continuously in approximately 20-second loops (throttle at full). @BIGNEWY I'm uncertain about the current support for RZ modules, (they previously lacked substantial backing to be honets...). Could you report this issue to the ED team please? It seems like it's not a difficult bug to resolve. Thanks

The VRAM "correction" (in my case) has not corrected anything.
-
Yes, the same for me. I thought that VRAM optimization would positively affect performance, in fact Bignewy announced this as a radical improvement for VR (or so I understood it)... but no, in my case it has not been like that either. Essentially, I must maintain the same low settings for two or three updates. I can maintain 45-80 FPS on land and at a very low altitude but I suffer constant stuttering, FPS drops, etc. with textures at medium. I would like for an explanation to be provided to the community regarding the nature of this VRAM optimization and the reason why DCS still utilizes the full 10GB of VRAM on my card without any noticeable improvement. Additionally, I have observed multiple videos from users that display the VRAM usage before and after the update, which appears to be unchanged.
-
Yes, yes, but normally it would work without a restarting.
-
In my case, it works and with different settings than yours. Then it's about the textures. Sure Just down the textures to medium and most of the problem disappears. I believe the mod is excellent; however, it should be the developer's or ED's responsibility to address the issue but If after two years there has been no action taken (not even an approach to the thread)...

100% MAXSenna As I said with my 3080,+64g Ram. Usually DCS uses 10g Vram and around 24 to 30 g Ram all time and I have seen until 40g. Enviado desde mi SM-S901B mediante Tapatalk

In VR and below 800/900 f., it still has abrupt drops in FPS and jerks that other maps do not have, reaching 20fps in some airfields. My guess is that the map below that altitude loads a lot of textures, thus saturating the Vram/Ram. If we add ground units, etc... and with Helos it's a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, the map has a lot of potential (although 80% of it is ocean). It's just that RZ's attitude after two years and the updates, in my case, have not left the performance at the level of other DSC maps (always speaking in VR).
-
Kola has a performance more similar to the rest of the maps in DCS. Even Marianas has improved its performance over time. It turns out that this map has gotten worse with each update. In fact, most of the work has been focused on art instead of fixing this, and the more details at ground level, the worsens the effect we are discussing since the data load increases. IMHO This proves two things:; 1. The developers never bothered to investigate the problem 2. Spectre's response only shows a lack of interest in their product and little respect for those who paid for what was at the time the most expensive map in DCS. PD Excuse my tone, but after two years I have the right to be very angry with RZ
-
Obviously there is nothing wrong with lowering the textures, but I meant that the real solution lies on the developer side. About the problem report: It is reported in this thread and as you can see, only the computers with a huge amount of vram/ram available are the ones that have improved their performance. 8/jun/22

Thanks for the report Holbeach but IMHO, lowering the textures is just a "warm cloth", a bad arrangement... Two years have passed and to this day it is still the worst performing map in all DCS and it remains unfixed.
-
The problem when using F10 affects all maps in general. It is a known problem for ED and has to do with the use of RAM.
-
Thanks for you time DSplayer. Seems like my OvGME is not loading some mods. I have installed the mods directly in the DCS root directory and they work perfectly there.

It's been over a year and the bug is still there.... ok I know, I know ,two weeks™

Ummm I have never had this problem in 2D environment. It only happens when I use VR. In 2D, Vram/RAM usage is almost halved.
