F2 external view too much bass for Buttkicker
Terrorvogel replied to Terrorvogel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Devrim! I have Diveplanes´s latest soundmod installed but this bass "issue" has already been before since years without any mod. Do you use a Buttkicker too? Because i think it is hard to explain, what i exactly mean, if not using one. When inside the cockpit everything is fine with my actual sound settings (soundcard hardware side) which is matching now, after long try and error, for nearly all of my different planes at the same time. It is hard to set this up because Buttkicker has to be set very sensitive if you like to feel everything from small events like low starting vibrations of the wings when plane is beginning to stall up to heavy explosions near your aircraft. Same "issue" i have when turning my head to full left or right with TrackIr. Then all sounds (engines, releasing flares etc.) are some kind of bass amplified and muffled so my Buttkicker starts clipping, which is really unnatural, loud and annoying. If lowering now the overall bass-input level at soundcard and/or Buttkicker, there is not coming enough bass-signal through and Buttkicker makes no fun anymore or rather useless. I hope there is some secret hidden switch in the deepest abyss of DCS, which can alter this strange bass-amplifying (probably some hardcoded part of sound engine itself - kind of wanted doppler effect?) when turning head in cockpit or in F2 external view. Best regards, Terrorvogel -
Hi all! Is there a way to edit the EngineTF34GE100*******.sdef´s somehow so that my buttkicker stops exploding under my butt due to suddenly additional extremely bass input which is coming from switching to external view mode? Or what would be much better, ist there a switch in "somewhere .lua file" to decrease the external view´s bass output in general? It is really no fun with that device when looking planes from the outside! Hope someone has a solution for this out there in the wide wide world:( Best regards, Terrorvogel

Fiddling around finding .sdef stall-sound-files for each plane to customize the bass-frequenzies and loudness for better buttkicker response. The file i need ist that one which is making the plane rattling due to turbulences when airspeed is too low. I´d like to raise the sensitivity inside this .sdef file of the matching .wav file so buttkicker starts to work earlier and stronger so you can feel better airflow. Is it a common file for all planes or is it separately for each plane? Whats the exact location(s)? There are some but they doesn´t sound like the tinny stall-rattle sound in game and changes in matching .sdef doesn´t affect what i´d like to change for example under: C:\DCS World\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\PlaneWingTurbulence.wav Best regards Terrorvogel

4k Philips Monitor 40" at 60hz
Terrorvogel replied to rajdary's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@Boris Yes, at the moment it's important for me due to lack of GPU power. Waiting for next GPU gen but this will take some time until good performance/price ratio. Planning triple BDM4065UC in far future when displays and GPU were lots cheaper. You could really help me with your subjective opinion of displaying in interpolated Full HD only. So no really need of screenshots. Important is how pixels behave. Is it blurry and how good to recognise enemy targets. I do hope that the picture is much better than at my standard Samsung 40" Full-HD-TV in my bedroom due to higher pixel density so i can give a go to my first BDM4065UC. Thx in advance! @Boris Could you do me a favour please and let the monitor run in 1920x1080 with DCS to verify the interpolation skills of this screen? I'd like to buy the Philips BDM4065UC too in near future, and it would be very important for me how the picture quality looks like in Full HD instead of 4k. Screenies would be vers nice if possible... best regards, Terrorvogel -

Hi PeterP! Due to having problems with my G940, i have bought a second MS FFB2 to recunstruct this amazing unit with the help of your plans. Thx for this!!! I have a question about the suggested the Motor-Mountings: http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/2...SHLESS-MOTOREN How many sets of this do i have to order? I can´t clearly see at your photos how many of what kind of theese i will need. And maybe you can me tell too, what kind of grease (this sticky white stuff) i can use/buy for the plastic-gears etc. I believe it is a kind of teflon-paste? But where to buy? Best Regards Terrorvogel
