Actually, i don't see your point ;) If ED have two devs focusing on AFM's. Both are busy on project A, i can't see how they can code on project B at the same time. And about the AFM's for the F-15C and Su-27, Wags stated it in his update:
-
Shrapnel is not simulated. 4 HE rockets detonating close to a soft skin will definitely damage it severely. I reckon the biggest issue is the damage model for the vehicles, now you can either destroy a vehicle or not. IRL tanks and trucks doesn't blow up when hit every time, especially trucks being hit with 7.62.

Hey if money is the issue ED can already take my money for the F/A-18C. I'd pay 70-90$ without hesitation for DCS:F/A-18C if that ensured they will release an early beta in December 2013. But I won't spend another cent on lo-fi modules.
-
The Huey is awesome, and i admire all 3rd party devs. What most people have been waiting for is a DCS:Fast mover. Not an FC3 fast mover, we already have that..
-
I'm well aware how software development work. According to ED the AFM is the hardest part, and if you think building 2 different AFM's is not gonna slow down the progress of the F/A-18C: a) The F/A-18C AFM is completed b) You are wrong. A possible cause for the delay is that the current engine can't handle radars in a realistic way and the engine need to be reworked. In either case, ED should tell us the real reasons, and not try to sneak around the issues.

And this medium fidelity talk is only marketing rubbish. No one consider the A-10A a medium fidelity product. A Good FSX product is medium fidelity. A dated cockpit, not clickable, barely no systems simulated is lo-fi. AFM does not change that fact. End of story.
-
Ok, let's say we have 10000 lo-fi customers. And 10000 Hi-fi customers. 10000 buy Ka-50 and A-10C 15000 buy FC3. (a higher sales number, but 5000 hi-fi customers only buy to support ED). Then someone at marketing believe "omigosh, FC3 sales are sky rocketing, we need to shift focus to lo-fi because we need the cash flow". I don't care if ED release 10 lo-fi modules between every hi-fi module. The problem is we have been waiting for the hi-fi fighter for ages! And now we see ED shifting focus to lo-fi modules instead of pushing out the hi-fi fighter. That's disappointing.

I bought it only because i want to support ED. I've tested the Su-27 and F-15 one evening since release, and i don't see any reason at all flying any of the FC3 aircrafts again. And i know a lot of people who only bought FC3 to support ED. So if ED notice a lot of people buy FC3 they have to ask themselves, have we found new players, or is the increase High fidelity players supporting us. I will not buy more low fidelity products, ever.
-
I smell a Hitler rant incoming. This is insane...... Number 1 priority for sales should be F-18C. ED need to release a HIGH FIDELITY FIGHTER. Not an FC3 aircraft with AFM... Hell, we even have the Su-25 with AFM (woah, huge sales on that one.....) 50% (at least) of the BMS users base will buy it. 80% of the DCS: Ka-50/A-10C users will buy it. A lot of my friends are waiting to buy a high fidelity fighter. I know people with brand new HOTAS's in boxes waiting for a DCS fighter.. My estimates is as good as everyones until someone show proper statistics. I've always supported ED/TFC but not focusing on F-18C make me regret buying FC2, FC3, P-51D and CA. The only thank is more lo fi aircrafts because "they sell more" when we buy them only for the support. I cannot express with words how disappointed i am..
-
If they are DCS:Su-27 and DCS:F-15C they will be high fidelity. And honestly I don't believe ED are so ignorant they will invest time and money in low fi modules when they already have FC3.

If you can't save up to 49$ in a few months I guess you have to find a cheaper hobby or a better income. Quality always come with a price tag, but no one is forcing you to buy it :)

The problem is people with "not-so-awesome" uploads clogging the main servers. Everyone will benefit from people with 100/100mbit+ connections if they get a decent download speed in the beginning, or 10 min head start, that's all.

Sharing Target data with friends - Multiplayer
Dejjvid replied to Digital Aura's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You can share your SPI with DMS LEFT LONG, you see in your top right corner on our TAD when you are sending. If you want to move your SPI to a wingmans SPI slew your cursor to the wingmans' SPI and press TMS UP SHORT followed by a TMS UP LONG. Your SPI will now be on top of your wingmans. The other thing you talk about is sending attack orders, it's a little more complicated, but you got the sending part. When you receive an attack order press OSB WILCO on TAD then slew over the red triangle and do TMS UP SHORT followed by TMS UP LONG. -
Yea, torrents are nice, but if you want them awesome I reckon you need 25 seeders from the start, else the torrent won't distribute fast enough when you have crazy amounts of peers.
-
Well, the problem with torrents is that the people with good upload still have to struggle to download the content. It took me 4 hours for 1.2.3 to download 100%, but I seeded over 300GB in 24hrs.
-
c0ff, do you have several mirrors with the updater or just one? Perhaps you could add more repositories, and let users with 100mbit+ upload help you spread the load. I know quite a few people with 100-250mbit+ connections that would help for free.
-
They are ready for an open beta, not release. Don't expect a finished product.

Tech reason for engines shudown after being upside-down?
Dejjvid replied to eFirehawk's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
It's definitely not always 4.0 0.8, when you do an in flight alignment it's actually ~5.5 0.8. -
If they get the auto updater running from the start the patch shouldn't be that huge. Huey module is probably weighing in at around 3-400MB.

This is the only place on the internetz where grown ups go ballistic and act like eager 8yr olds.

I'm not even from the UK but it would be awesome with the HMS Ark Royal.

230IAS is with 100% fuel and a shitload of weapons (MTOW). Add this: 100% fuel 2x Aim9 1x TGP 2x AGM-65D 1x GBU-12 1x GBU-12 2x AGM-65D 1x ALQ-131 (JAMMER) This is a "full" combat load. Putting on more weight is in most cases bad.
