Excellent answer, it seems plausible. I will test this the next time i fly! If we find some documentation for the "advanced" CDU functions it would be awesome, the manual is lacking this information.

Network speed what should I set it to?
Dejjvid replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Masterarms.se run all missions with the LAN setting. We experience warping if we run with lower. At least in Sweden it's common with fibre, I pay 38€/month for 100/100mbit. -
Is 1644 a valid laser code? Try lasing with default 1688 and see if it works.

I can't get the vertical steering bar to work in STPT mode, only show up in ANCHR mode. I set 3D, COMPUTED and it works fine with ANCHR. Working as intended, user error or bug?

Learn the different icons and things get easier. Things i use often is, changing/creating waypoints, offset waypoint, overhead mark, mark, divert, steer info, anchor point, fast align with BATH (for scramble) and various trouble shooting when i experience those FUBAR moments...

I disagree, adjusting your position during the takeoff run with brakes is a sign that you are a bad pilot and have misjudged your own speed in relation to lead. I've done hundred and hundred takeoffs as wingman, i've never been close to thinking about using the brakes.. Anti skid works fine, if you look in exterior view you clearly see the tires only lock up for a brief moment before it release brake pressure. Do a landing with anti skid off on a wet surface and use 100% brakes, then tell me it better with AS off. Brake efficiency is another matter, and have been discussed earlier..
-
I have no clue what some of you are doing while flying.. :P Brakes during takeoff run? Only used for aborting a takeoff. You use the throttle to keep your position as a wingman. And if the lead have any skills at all he will not use 100% for the takeoff. Brakes during landing. You can apply 100% brakes just after touchdown, anti skid will make sure your tire doesn't get flat and/or explode. But anti-skid won't keep your brakes temperature safe, therefore you use your huge air brakes to slow down, often you don't even need to brake at all, but if you do, brake at 60kn. Use NWS to control the aircraft. Using differential braking only do one thing, increasing your workload.

The standard procedure to open and save in the new patch isn't enough? -
They are trucking along again. :)

I don't think the funding is the issue since ED outsourced F-15C AFM to BST. I think the biggest hurdle is time. ED must prioritize government and business customers before us, because they have the big bag of money that's needed to keep the business running. Developers cost money, and highly skilled developers in this genre do not grow on trees.
-
ED must complete edge and the other related projects before they can push the F/A-18. I don't think the current engine supports a modelled ground radar. Doing it the easy way is not an option. And I'm pretty confident air-to-air radars are pretty far off from real world performance in the current engine.

Question regarding modules with two-seater aircraft
Dejjvid replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
They need to do serious work on the net code before they can implement multi crew. It can barely keep up with 25ish players now. Add multi crew with that performance and you've just created a disaster... Multiplayer need lots of love, the younger generations hardly play games without MP anymore. -
100% saturation, no deadzone and 30 curvature! Then practice, practice and practice some more.

Only way to remove the red triangle is to press CNC on TAD or reboot CDU...

Well, there is an issue where main landing gear tires get damaged without any apparent reason. Might be related to certain runways or a glitch in the AFM. Yesterday I landed with 25% and no weapons, only TGP and ALQ. I did the smoothest flare ever, but my left tire blew anyway. After watching the track I can't find any other reason then bug. But I'll try to reproduce in 1.2.7 and report if it happen again.

Here you go: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=318 And remember to report ONE bug per thread. :)

DCS 1.2.7 Open Beta - Preliminary Changelog
Dejjvid replied to Mike Busutil's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I will use this OB opportunity to address the 'Crazy Shkval' issue on the Ka-50 once and for all. It's the only game breaking bug that's left, and it's been ignored for several years. -

DCS 1.2.7 Open Beta - Preliminary Changelog

I hope we see the beta when the devs feel like its time to release it. Not when Internet trolls (oh I'm sorry, mostly grown up men moaning like school girls that dropped their ice creams) cry their eyes out. -
Using an old thread. I've forgot what the "T" on the right side of the "L" in the TGP is?

A-10C, much more vulnerable than it sounds to be ...
Dejjvid replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That helicopter would be FUBAR if it hovered anywhere close to my squad in the National Guard. I only need to say 8.4cm Carl Gustaf. And for the lulz we can send some At-4 and 40mm while we're at it. I don't think any helicopter think its funny to have armed enemies within 300m. But I've seen German pilots flying CH-53 and doing infil/exfil and providing suppressive fire from 200ft with smoke flares, signal flares and what not flying everywhere. Hardcore pilots, considering it was in peace time ;) -

This thread really show all the not-so-good things about mankind... On topic, will the OB users get any information regarding what to test and look out for? Or should we use it like the normal installer and do the things we normally (try to) do? -
How in the world can I get better at formation flying?
Dejjvid replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'm not evul towards my wingies as lead. It's not like I'm trucking along with 100% throttle while requesting a rejoin ;) When I fly as wingman and form up on lead I use my mk 1 eyeballs to estimate the speed, if I'm within 40 IAS I know I can slow down within 5 plane lengths. But often I gradually reduce power until I'm solid in position. The biggest beginner mistake is that pilots doesn't understand how fast the A-10C actually slow down. They exaggerate and cut throttles to 0% and apply speed brakes. In the same scenario I would throttle down 20% and slide in to position. I've already promised a dude on YouTube a formation flying vid, when I have time to record one ill post it here as well. -

I always know I have good wingman if they are silent during the approach. If they ask for my speed I get scared shitless and pray they don't crash into me.. :'( -

No need to use any rudder while flying in formation with the A-10C. I regularly fly formation in the A-10C and can hold my position within 2 inches when bank angle is around 30 degrees. I wobble a bit more when doing aerobatics in formation ;) I'd be very, very surprised if fast mowers use rudders in normal formation.
