  1. Well i sure hope someone steps up for FC2. I don't think I can wait any longer, so I think I just might as well purchase from UK online. More expensive but at least I will have it. Don't have any idea when it will be available here in U.S. or Canada. How long has BS been out. LOL. Can't wait that long.:D
  2. Does anyone know who will be the Distributor for FC2 in North America and when will it be available. Thanks for any info.

    pilot salary

Hi E. We are just saying the same thing but in different terms. LOL. I agree with you. Just one note for this side(North America). The conflicts that have been on going around the world and then once things settle down, we end up with a surplus of pilots. In the U.S. I would assume as some of the best pilots come from the Reserve Units(go figure)., that they would return to their previous civilian vocations. Not all would be in Aviation. We have a lot of Private pilots here and some aspire to become more involved in the civilian industry, thus we have a surplus of pilots. Some even leave to take pilot positions in other Countries. Although this is rare but does happen. These are strange times my friend. Cheers.

I have relatives that would like to find those High paying jobs.;)Yes they are ex-military. I also have a brother-in-law who teaches Helio. a/c machanics and works in the summer for the Chopper Company he worked for before he took the teaching position. Their pilots fly all over the world on contract and would love to know where those jobs are also.;) I think IMHO of course that your reference is the exception rather than the rule. My Father,Myself and my extended married family are and were in the aviation industry. Both Military and Civilian. Those jobs you speak of are as rare as hens teeth. Now lets not get this to far out of perspective. My reference is what is in Canada only. I do know of the Civilian Pilots salaries and to get top salary that you mention you would have to be an International Pilot(first seat). Yes they would make the salary you have mentioned. Those jobs today are very hard to achieve. You would not jump from the military to one of those Pilot Positions under any conditions. If you would like I can tell you exactly what the average Chopper pilot makes. I just need to make a phone call to my brother-in-law. Yes they pay well I just don't know how much in order to answer your question correctly. I do know they are away from home most of the time on contract. Lets just say that we each experience some what similar views and no one is wrong in the info in these posts. Yes pilot positions could and are at times very well paying jobs. I think you would agree with me that their salaries are well earned. As in ,time spent away from family, risk etc.Cheers E.:) Oh, E. Not trying to negate your thoughts by the way, I just have a different but similar point of view.:)

Not quite the same in Canada. You give 5 years of service after Education, also spend Summers with Military and if in a conflict situation which we find ourselves in then posssibly longer. If you opt out and that is not easy then you pay back what the MIlitary has invested. Not as free a ride as you may think. Now try and find a job in the Civilian world of today with many pilots out of work, now what do you do. Also not many Private business vocations available and seeing as you have no experience other than being a Military Pilot, your education is not going to help a great deal. While you were flying others were busy getting experience in civilian market. Not as black and white as one would think.

Only if they are ROT program. Most pay for their own education. Even ROT have to give at least 5 years to the Military Sevice or pay back ALL education fees.

I don't think you would get a Canadian Pilot to think that. They are a close group as in F-18 pilots, Search and Rescue etc. but I don't think any would deem themselves Elite. They have different roles to play and that's the way they look at it, based on my close contact with them. They are a great bunch of people but I don't think they feel they are Elite in any way. Not in Canada. Are we as Canadians Proud of them, Yes, as we are with each and everyone who serves.............Not just in Canada. We owe them all a great debt.

Well I can't quote Canadian Salaries as at this point I am not sure. I could give a real good guess but like you say , It also varies here as well. I do know that for the Education Required to become a Pilot in the Canadian Armed Forces, that the salaries would be low considering this point alone. I do know for the most part our Canadian F-18 pilots are young overall and I do know for a fact that our Search and Rescue helio pilots get burnt out, due to the stress of very intense flying conditions. Unfortunately all the glory seems to go to the Civilian Pilots and their salaries are reflected in what they fly and whether they fly International or Domestic. In North America Civilian Pilots are really subject to the Economy and we have a lot of out of work pilots.Cheers.

This is a link for Canada and its military pilots. http://www.forces.ca/html/pilot_reg_en.aspx The only thing I can say is, the hours of work are not quite what they say. Sometimes it is and well to be honest more times it is not. You are a military man, so you understand , training etc. takes up a lot of time, plus deployment in todays enviroment eats away at your personal life. Hope this info is helpful to you. Cheers.
  12. At the present ,No. I do not have Fc2 till july when I get the DVD version. This is an Fc1.12b using the mig29g. I have one on lockonfiles.com but this is a newer version. I an not a really good texture artist and would love for someone to take the files for this and an F22 I have done and do their magic. If someone could tell me how to insert textures into FC2, I would try and make a file for it. I would not be able to test it but I should be able to make it.
  13. How about this?
  14. What cockpit are you using?
  15. Thanks, I will take a look. thanks for the link. cheers.
  16. I have 2 cockpits retextured but I am no artist and I don't have Paint Shop to give those special effects. Would anyone be interested in taking the files and adding their touch to these cockpits. One is for the F-16 modded on the Mig-29G and the other is the F-22 modded on the F-15. Give me a shout if anyone has any interest in doing these retextures. I have all the basics done and night and day gauges but needs little more finer work which I can't do.(no proper PS program). Thanks for any interest. cheers.:)
  17. I have a question, Nice mods by the way. In the pic, it looks like you got rid of that terrible orange glow of the cockpit itself,(seems more gray). Question, how did you achieve this?:)
  18. I don't know why but I have this (don't trust Microsoft) frame of mind. Lets wait and see if they re-enter the Combat Flight Sim. community again. Will be interesting to watch what unfolds.:music_whistling:
  19. You got to love microsoft, I would love to know where they get those drivers from. Seeing as they are always broken, I would assume they do them their selves.:D
  20. For those that still have Fc1.12b. Post no. 11 has the brightlightfc1.12 rar file for the Fc1.12 version. Works great in SP could a coupe of people try this in MP and please advise Diveplane of the result. Should work just fine. brightlights2 is working for Fc2 and fc1.12. don't miss this script change. Looks and works great. Have fun in the skies. If anyone thinks that fc1.12 version is not working please give me a shout. Note: you will have lights airborne but to turn them off, change from Nav mode to any combat mode and use ctl-l to turn them off, when back in nav mode just turn nav lights on again and they will flash. Any problems please let me or diveplane know. Thanks guy's.
  21. I have FSX acceleration and was not impressed at all. Removed. Sorry just didn't do it for me. Not knocking it, just did not suit me. I think the new virtual f18 might be more to my liking so may try that later.:)
  22. Can we get an Fc1.12 version pleaseeee.:)
  23. Ok, spill how you set it up. He he.:D
  24. I have been involved with computers all my adult career and you can not believe some of the stupid stuff that happens to cause endless hours of grief before one looks at the most simple causes. From the vic20 onwords and that goes well back. Now you can figure out my age,LOL.:D
  25. Sometimes it's the simple things that get us. glad you are up an running again. Hopefully that's the end of the problem.
