  1. Indeed, please take this someplace else so we can get back to more productive discussions. :music_whistling:
  2. There still seems to be a strong impression among some people that ED is profiting greatly from this kickstarter debacle. It's already been said that ED is taking a financial hit in trying to honor the KS promises (and I damn well believe it given how much modules normally cost). Given the pittance collected from the KS campaign, ED has to complete 5 aircraft and 1 map at their own expense and then GIVE THEM AWAY TO ALL OF US! If you think that is profiteering, please consult your local dictionary. The list of KS campaigns that were abandoned after being funded is long, and I challenge anyone to find one other than DCS WWII that has been rescued by a third party.
  3. :megalol: +1
  4. Anyone who says ED doesn't listen need look no further than this thread! Special thanks to Sith for moderating this jungle and thanks to ED for coming up with I think the best possible solution for everyone. Now back to work! ;)
  5. Finally, a straightforward backer's reward statement. This looks great! Can't wait for those alpha's to start coming out.
  6. I always say I won't buy because I want time for other flight sims. Then the release date rolls around and I just.... can't.... RESIST!!
  7. Interesting information. I've recently read that the Stuka's were considered outdated even during the Battle of Britain. Mainly because they can't really operate without complete air superiority.
  8. After 10 pages of discussion, maybe it's time for that poll. ;)
  9. +1. Not really interested in flying Spitfires around the Black Sea shooting down Ka-50's. ;)
  10. Another point to consider is that printed manuals have permanent mistakes in them, while PDF's can be redistributed with corrections. I wonder if it would be practical to ship manuals only to the few who insist on getting them. The reward give-aways were ridiculous. A fair and practical reward system should be based simply on the number of aircraft you get, the rest seems trivial. i.e. Non backers - $50 / aircraft $20 1 aircraft $40 2 aircraft $60 3 aircraft $100 or more: all 6 aircraft
  11. Agree with Jaydee. Whatever Luthier's faults may be, he stepped up got DCS WWII rolling. He had the balls to initiate a high risk project and follow his passion. ED now has to bear the burden of that risk but we the customer will soon have yet another amazing WWII air combat sim! It may look bad on the surface, but remember without Oleg and Ilya there would be no Cliffs of Dover 3.12 and certainly no DCS Europe 1944! My sincere thanks to ED for deciding to see this project through. This really is the best outcome we could have hoped for!
  12. +1 That's the only thing that got me checked out on the A-10C! :smartass:
  13. I backed $250 but honestly I'm not very interested in the physical extras, especially if it puts additional strain on ED to get the product out. It's the software that matters!
  14. At least it's a reasonably hypothetical theatre for WWII. :)
  15. I'm getting the same issue as doveman and others here. 50-60 FPS with only a few objects, 2-5 FPS when engaging tanks in the Georgian Hammer campaign.
  16. +1
  17. Great tips, thanks guys!
  18. There are a couple of missions in Operation Medvedev where it's all out war, and in the chaos I've mistakenly targeted my own tanks. Other than their position and direction of travel, are there any clues that separate friendly tanks from enemy?
  19. Thanks for the clues, gentlemen!
  20. If I run the automatic start-up procedure in the Black Shark, I notice that there is a little rotating red beacon light under the fuselage that turns on. Where is the switch to turn this on and off?
  21. CH HOTAS, had them for the last 10 years and still love them! Was not so fond of the CH pedals, when they broke I replaced them with the awesome Saitek Combat pedals.
  22. Thanks, that did it. Mission success!
  23. Don't know if this is a bug or I'm just uneducated. At the beginning of a mission (i.e. Poke in the Eye) I can press the "\" key and it brings up the comm menu, where I can select "Flight" to communicate with my wingman. After flying toward the target for a little while, if I press the "\" key it does nothing. Why would it stop working?
  24. I noticed the same problem with the Mi-8 in mission 2 of the original Medvedev campaign so it's probably not because of Grimes' changes.
