  1. Thanks, ED. You're basically saying that my next module or two are free! :D
  2. To me landings seem much easier now.
  3. Not saying it would be easy, but... F4F + A7M + 1 (existing?) aircraft carrier = a reasonably complete DCS Pacific Threatre! No terrain required, just an endless expanse of water for the initial product. Hopefully some minds over at RRG are already thinking in that direction. ;)
  4. Beautiful image, that is just inspiring! :D
  5. Great timing, The Mighty Eighth coming out around the same time as DCS WWII!
  6. Seriously guys, do you go back to Futureshop or Walmart to whine because a game you bought later went on sale? What ED/BST learned from the Huey "stunt" is they got some good sales from the initial pre-release, then exponentially more when they discounted later. Remember you are one of many customers, so all the whining in the world won't count for much against the bottom dollar value that results from these sales. I was happy to pay full price for the Huey on day one because I wanted it right away. I decided to wait for the Mi8 and as a result I can now take advantage of the sale. Grown-ups know that you can't have your cake and eat it too.
  7. So Dora and Mustang will also be available @ $40? I thought we were only getting them at $65+ since they are ED products, not RRG.
  8. I think this is incorrect. Wasn't it stated that: 1. We will receive keys for this aircraft for DCS World as well as DCS WWII 2. The Dora will be available to us as soon as it is released by ED, not when DCS WWII is finished Let's try not to spread disinformation, please. :book:
  9. Updated my pledge to $150 to get the Dora and Alpha access. I would have spent that money on DCS Fw190 anyway!
  10. How the heck are we supposed to pick from a list like that?! All drool-worthy aircraft but I'm most anxious for the Thunderbolt.
  11. As I've said, barn door. I don't give a hoot about others getting this for free after I have payed for it. I give a hoot about all the people who won't contribute because of this.
  12. It's a little late to close the barn door now, hopefully it doesn't cost them the project. It's shocking how few backers there are, and they are the few, enthusiastic, generous kind. If the average contribution was $40 or less, they wouldn't even have $35K by now!! I also don't get why they're not using DCS P-51 footage to promote the project. It's the perfect indicator for how good DCS:WWII could be.
  13. It looks like the pledges are starting to stall. It's very discouraging since there is no real incentive to contribute except to "be part of the project". If the game was not available for free to Johnny-come-lately next fall, I bet they would have hit $100K by now! Take note guys, the reason Free-to-Play worked for ED and RoF is because they started making money off their planes for a couple of years *BEFORE* giving it away.
  14. The P-51 is also a nice "Preview" of the quality and realism we can expect in this project. I think if more people actually tried the P-51 they would be much more excited about DCS WWII. The feeling of flying is incomparable to all other past and present prop sims I've played. You really have to try it!
  15. Very impressive, and quite beautiful Mnemonic. :D
  16. For me, learning the A-10C took going through all the available tutorials, getting some practice, and then moving on to something entirely different. Each time I come back to the A-10 I'm amazed at how much I remember and all the button actions I've retained in muscle memory. Now on a technical level I fully understand everything I need to know to carry out a successful JTAC driven mission, I just can't seem to do it in practice! ;) Whether it's poor assessment of the battlefield or just poor judgement, I can't seem to break through the first mission in a campaign.
  17. Yes, performance is the only customer-perceivable change when code is refactored.
  18. I never finished the Deployment campaign, look forward to doing so in BS2 after finishing the UN Huey campaign. :D
  19. How can I remove this text entirely from the screen?
  20. Thanks, guys. That's both interesting and nice to know that my controllers are set up properly. I've never notices this before in the Black Shark pedals, but my pedals are heavier and slower than the throttle wheel so makes sense.
  21. My joystick throttle axis is mapped to the P51's elevator trim wheel and it generally works correctly. However, when I move the physical wheel, the virtual trim wheel moves at a constant speed and thus lags behind my input. Why doesn't the trim wheel move at the same speed as my control inputs? Imagine if the stick and rudder controls behaved the same, we would never be able to fly. As it is, I have to make several attempts to set the trim as I want it.
  22. I just watched the old Viet Nam film "The Green Berets". All that UH-1 footage got me super excited for this sim!
  23. Has anyone resolved the response delay when mapping elevator trim to an axis? Like Azazel, I've mapped elevator trim to the throttle dial on my CH Fighter stick. If I roll this dial forward, it takes several seconds for the virtual trim dial to catch up because it turn so slowly! Imagine if stick inputs had this kind of delay, you'd never be able to control the plane. Has anyone been able to remedy this?
  24. I even do this often when watching movies!
  25. At this rate, I'll be picking up Skyrim in the $19.95 bin by the time I get enough of the DCS flood!
