Is there any reason to fire the PH in PD-STT?
Ddg1500 replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
PD STT and STT are different modes, me personally would use PD STT more for just IFF only, STT for locking targets ranged below 20 miles, and TWS AUTO for bvr, PD STT could said is only design for iff only based off my experience as rio, and it's biggest advantage is it could ensure the enemy's rwr to not recognize as STT aka spike, as if you STT that target , the target's rwr could find the source the lock and do a evade, PD STT could make sure that is not going to happen as it doesn't present an fixed lock on than target, it's an more narrow search wave than an fixed line, which is shown in Tid, by way if your can't see anything on the DDD, that means the radar haven't see any target, then you certainly can't radar lock anything -
hello, i would like to ask serval qustion about the f14's flight model from heatblur, here as flollows 1 How exactly acccurate is the flight model with respect to reality? 2 Is pitch up effect of the front pheonix plyon simulated?(picture) 3 Is the fligh model after deploy of DLC realisticly simulated? As it make nose feels weighless when deployed or full extented. 4 Is the sweep wing really would wiggle that much like jelly when conducting carrier landing? (video at 4:18)

true experience: you could , but it would lost lock more easily than STT, so better switch back to the almighty and easily TWS AUTO -
good day, i was thinking if ED could make an app on Anriod or ios device to link up the MFD or control panel on the flying aircraft ,so we could press it on cell phone instead of doing in the game, or show certain gagues like VDI, this could greatly reduce the inconvinenice of virtual simulation. for sometimes I can't hold stable when truning certain switches in the cockpit( like the radio panel in tomcat) or the CAP in Rio,if those could be done thorgh the cell phone, that could be very wonderful.

Greetings, after a nice meal and a good shower, I lied on my bed for another fantasy, i was dreaming if one day in the distant but foreseenable future, Northrop grumman could be generous enough to cooperate with Heatblur, with their advance compter, to bring a full fedility Asf14 into dcs as an moudel, with all those glass cockpit and IRST, and a stronger radar than f22, further range, super cruise, newer long range missle like aim54d, harpoon, maverick etc, oh i can't dream that much, that's too wonderful, could heatblur just go to northrop grumman to sign some future contract or something......., i know it could be dreamming but someday the heatblur may call Grumman Heatblur or something.

It’s doesn’t work, there is a defected file but it isn’t about the sound, it’s something unknown, the issue still there -

Yes, #2, and I presume that sound is actually from the rear nozzle, not the internal whining sound -

This issue doesn’t exist in B version, but do in A -
I found F14a cockpit whining sound of tf30 disappeared, which sound truly weird, I can’t judge my thrust condition through sound when I am doing carrier landing, and idea why? And yes it’s 100% reproducible

i might try their, thanks

I found out the internal cockpit whining sound of tf30 disappeared in A version, which sound truly wired, things already existed in previous beta version, any idea why?

Been doing carrier landing 300h+,here is my highly detailed tips for f14 carrier landing 1 with ONLY stick and throttle, the f14 have extremely slow and vague on rink rate changes, it either sink too slow or inadequately , making landing more unpredictable and dangerous, you need to frequently move the throttle, like if you want to do a 5 sink rate, then you should firstly loss power from 85% rpm to 80%, after confirming the changes, compensate the power back to 87% and return back to 85%, usually, the sink rate wouldn’t reach at the number you except, the reason is above, so please to ensure that you engaged DLC during landing. 2* The explain in the manual is a little inappropriate. the DLC is actually designed to help induce changes of lift faster, like when you loss the power but the aircraft don’t goes down, then you should consider instantly extent or retract dlc to promote the changes of lift faster, it is NOT some hands free height elevator that doesn’t require any throttle changes at all. 3 By this reason, the best way to control this aircraft is by using throttle, stick and dlc in conjunction, rather than simply stick and throttle. Coordinate those 3 factors together could considerably make landing easier and more professional, but beforehand, you need to make sure you know the cause by the changes of throttle & stick with respect to sink rate and speed(important) 4* On final approach, you should be at 500 feet at around 120-130knots while on speed , with 80-82% rpm and 8 aoa, dlc extended also. don’t worry about the excessive sink rate by low rpm, retract or extent dlc decently could resolve this issue well, when retracted, it should feels like there is an invisible string over the aircraft that’s pulling the aircraft up, like a doll, and that’s exactly how DLC is used for. 5 For me, personally, the max total weight for carrier landing is 9000lb, please be aware that if the total weight is TOO HIGH, the aircraft would have uncontrollable pitch as well as sink rate( usually happens together), making landing impossible.

Tips about f14 carrier landing from pro
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in Heatblur F-14 A&B Tutorials
Well that’s because you engine rpm is too high like 85%( or higher?), that will cause lift to regenerate, and induce wave off, like I said in the tip, try to stay around 80-82%rpm is right -

I could say no one have say that details about tomcat even with true pilots.

Good day, me again, I was thinking someday Ed could bring some antique carrier jet into the game like Fj3 fury—a carrier version of f86, to make carrier aircraft more diverse, you are more than welcome to engage in polite discussion

https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/ We're super excited for the A-6E and KA-6 being added to DCS World as AI units in the near future as part of the development cycle of the F-14! We will be developing the A-6 as a fully flyable module together with our partners at Eagle Dynamics, as part of a broad and ambitious DCS roadmap for a growing and hungry Heatblur team! Stay tuned for more information as we forge ahead through 2021. let's by some f14 or ajs37 to support heatblur
