  1. Yesterday ED announced that DCS: FC3 will be availible in the first quarter of 2014. But the changelog today state that: "With DCS version 1.2.7 an installation of Lock On: Modern Air Combat is no longer required for FC3 installation" Does this really mean, that I can buy FC3 now and it will be fully integrated into DCS: World?
  2. Some random screenies! By the way regarding the last pic. Scientists have just discovered that lack of sleep produces the same chemicals in the brain as if being braindamaged. And there is the proof gentlemen. Sleep IS important :)
  3. It´s a good thing to have some curvature on the axis to start with, mine are around 28, but I do not own a TM, so I can´t say if it´s needed on that. I don´t know how long you´ve been into flight sims, but most on these forums have been around for years. Myself since I was a kid in the Flanker 2,5 era. Study real world flight dynamics (such as that in the DCS manual) and then practice, practice and practice until you feel comfortable. :) I promise you that with some passion you will get there, and it will feel just as riding a bicycle. A little tip is to fly from your heart. :)
  4. Most of the Swedish arms producers are in-fact owned by over-seas Companys such as BAE-systems and ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. Which in turn makes you think how the deals are made behind closed doors on other defence related exports world wide. I´d hardly belive SAAB and other Swedish companys are the only ones with this shady activities.
  5. Hello Paulrkiii. Do the A-10 land in formation as well sometimes? Never seen it as far I can remember.
  6. Okey here it comes (sorry a bit delayed). A comprehensive flight training document based upon a real world flight training syllabus, but modified to fit a simulation community. This is the first official document I´ve made for the DCS community - so please give me feedback on the mather if you belive I should elaborate something, any feedback is great, as long as you don´t make me cry! ;) Now happy flying, and hope this document helps someone in their DCS learning experience. :) FT10C Stages.pdf
  7. Brazil seem to have choosen JAS 39 Gripen for it´s FX-2 contender. Only info on Portugese and Swedish so far. Estimated official statement at 20 CET.
  8. We eat Falcons for breakfast! :smilewink:
  9. I really can´t say I regret anything in my learning process. But I do have to say I´m quite proud of myself since I´ve been trying to follow the real world training syllabus. I studied the cockpit for a couple of days until I could start up the Hawg flawless. Then onto Taxi-training for a day or two - and later on to Take-Off & EFATO. You see where I´m getting at? I really learned to fly and operate the A-10C as it should be operated IRL. And it took me about 6-12 months before I got into pure tactical training. I know not many people have this much patience, since they seem to want to blow things up on the first day in cockpit. But if you truly want the most out of the A-10C - you should have patience! There is A LOT of charts and documents to your aid out there. Take your time and find them, study them - and fly according them! I really can recommend the 476th vFG documentation available on their website. :) EDIT: I can attach my IQT, MQT and WS syllabus later on this evening.
  10. Hmm there must be some colour codes, since a red scarf mean the pilot belongs to the first squadron at the wing. Or possibly it´s just something they brought with them back to Finland as a memory of what squadron they were at in Sweden when learning to fly the Draken. I have always thought Sweden was the only one having squadron scarfs, so I was a bit surprised to see them on Finnish pilots! :) You should definitely visit a larger airshow in Sweden sometime - since the historic birds are well represented! The Historic Flight Association (SwAFHF) operate every major SAAB-bird since the second World war (plus a few extra prop), and rumors speculate in another (second) flying Viggen! :)
  11. Noticed that the pilots had scarfs! Do the Finnish AF name their squadrons based on colour still? Sweden have almost quit doing so, except from more of traditionional meanings. Red = 1. div Blue = 2. div Yellow = 3. div Also, do you know where the Finnish AF Draken were based? :)
  12. If you ask me, I would choose a couple of dumb Mk-84 to pulverise the entire plant if there is no risk for collateral damage. But it may depend on political situations also. If it´s a pre-emptive surgical strike, PGM-munition would most certain be the choice to minimize casualties and to be able to pinpoint critical infrastructure within the plant. In the end, it all ends up inte the question of the value of the target, air-defence situation, collateral risk - and what type of industrial complex it is. You would most certinaly not want to bomb a nuclear plant or oil-raffinerie to the stone age. There it might be better to target specific installations and stop the production whitout exaggerating.
  13. Awesome flying for this years teams and solo displays! I´m already waiting for VFAT14! :)
  14. Worked like a charm Cibit! Rep inbound! EDIT: AFAC by the way...in FAC - Assign Group -> Designation -> WP/IP/Laser are all in orange colour saying (Problem no LOS, D > x NM) still though the A-10C AFAC with TGP are orbiting 3 NM from target at FL170. How come?
  15. Time do move slowly when waiting, but see it from the bright side, your holiday will feel much longer! ;)
  16. Hello fellow pilots! I´ve tried finding information how to set up JTAC / AFAC support for myself (A-10C) in the ME. With bad success - I have no problems contacting JTAC, but they just tell me they have no tasking availible for me...still they have LOS, in range etc on a MBT. Could someone please write down the basics of the Advanced Waypoint options, and save me from this never ending trial-and-error. :( (Sorry of there already is a thread on this subject - but I could not find it)
  17. Wow ED sure have put a lot of work into this patch! I´m very pleased to see they´ve edited the loadout profiles so it will match the real World a bit more! Also really happy to see AAR, ILS bars, VHF AM being fixed and the MQ-9 being introduced! Have a nice weekend ED (you´ve deserved it) and all you other pilots out there!
  18. SAAB 37 Viggen - Gone but not forgotten! (NOTAM: Horrible Sound Edit)
  19. Yes it´s a HUD-recorder. No idea why that tall tough. And the other gadget - no idea what it is! This individual is operated by SAAB, so it is not entirely corresponding on the production line birds. During this flight they also perfomed some flight tests, so it might have something to do with that.
  20. I had a girlfriend once who tested flying the Su-27 in FC2...and nope she didn´t stay in the seat long until she was bored. I´ve never played MP (almost embarrassed to admit it), but the female voice tends to be a lot smoother and just plain sweet to listen to over Teamspeak. Who doesn´t want more of that? :)
  21. If you mean that the correct situational awarness for players will be tougher to obtain I understand your point. But since this is a problem faced by real world fighter pilots - why should´nt we face the same problem they face? I am sure that mission designers on this level also have an understanding for this problem, that are very much realistic. But such a feature should not be forced on any one - it should rather be an option for those "hard core realistic" mission designers.
  22. It would be nice if ED could implement something like this in the future as Nevada are released, since almost every air-combat training are between the same fighter system and country. A such feature to choose RED and BLUE on a group level - and not entirely on a country level. This way we could have an american squadron acting as RED Force against another US squadron being BLUE Force. If ED want to produce a realistic simulator capable of simulating modern air combat and training - they should implement it (someday). But I´m no coder so I have no clue if it`s a huge task. But such a feature would sure make DCS a lot more realistic in terms of air training scenarios.
