  1. This is the answer. If you had any AP mode active and did not disable it with a short press of the Paddle (yanking the stick doesn't work either), then when you drop flaps and try to trim, this happens.
  2. Is the high altitude, high speed handling reported as well? When you yank the stick in those conditions, the FCS can't make up its mind on how many G's to allow, so there's a constant oscillation in pitch axis --------- Here's a TRK for the Topic Issue: Part 1 : Level flight with ATC and BALT engaged, and Speed Brake fully extended (WW F18 throttle, so the switch physically returns to the centre HOLD position) When I press the button aft (EXTEND), nothing happens as expected But when I release it, there's some pitch input from the FCS, which is wrong, since the board position hasn't changed at all Part 2 : I go into a left hand, level turn When I press the button aft (EXTEND), nothing happens - once again as expected But when I release it, there's some pitch input from the FCS, so the velocity vector leaves the artificial horizon line This issue is particularly problematic when doing Case 1. If you let go of the Extend button, the jet will want to depart from the level break F18 SPDBRK.trk
  3. Just ditch the in game kneeboard which doesn't even remember the last position and size, and switch to OpenKneeboard. It is 100x better. You even get additional "categories" for things like AI radio transcripts
  4. I did some testing and you are right, this is exactly what's happening. The pitch change is tied to the Speed Brake Extend button state instead of the actual "Speed Brakeextended state". After the board is fully extended, the FCLS waits until you let go off the EXTEND button to retrim the jet, instead of waiting for the board to close. So the net effect is you flight characteristic is a bit different depending on whether you're holding the Extend button or not.
  5. Could it be the FCLS compensating for the pitch up caused by the speedbrake, by trimming down? The FCS page should tell you The new flight model is definitely wonky: too much ballooning when dropping flaps and nerfing of pitch control.
  6. Text data is still text data no matter if the aircraft produced it, or SAP calculated it. The data source doesn't change the nature of the transmission. Stream is generally used in the context of videos. In this case it would imply the video of the ingame CDU is streamed to the WW CDU Whatever they meant to say certainly got lost in translation. If it has an internal USB hub, a single cable will suffice. For DCS, it's probably best to implement the text data interface since video export would trigger IC. Come on ED, please whitelist all the export files!
  7. Data Mode = export script based Streaming Display Mode = ?? If it can work as a monitor, can use it as a A10 CDU. Else someone will have to come up with an export script I'm checking with their support team. Will update with more info
  8. You know how NASA and SPACEX share so much telemetry and mission parameters/data LIVE? Even after filing RTI, all we got from ISRO was "undisclosed due to national security concerns". So you can forget about military jets. Be glad we have the M2k and Mig 21
  9. What makes you think India will give classified docs of their primary airframe to ED? During a Red Flag exercise, Su-30's were even ordered to NOT turn on their radars. You have a much better chance of Trump giving you current F35 docs.
  10. The trick to removing the MFDs is to explicitly export them at a 1x1 pixel size which makes it invisible Drop this file in your ...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\MonitorSetup\ folder Select NoMFD in DCS settings NoMFD.lua
  11. Moving out of beta status. You can get the latest release here: https://github.com/niru-27/DCS-Keybinds-Manager/releases Detailed usage instructions can be found in the github readme, but TLDR is: Install AutoHotKey v1.1 from the official site Download the latest Source code (zip) from above link Extract the zip Connect all your peripherals Run Niro's DCS Keybinds Manager.ahk Select your current ...\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input folder on the left Select your previously backed-up \Input folder on the right Hit Import Current binds are automatically saved before each import to allow reversion if needed.
  12. I wrote a script that restores not only restores the keybinds, but also the modifiers. More info in this thread
  13. A bit late, but this scenario is exactly why I wrote a script to do it automagically in a few clicks: more info in this thread Oooh since when? I remember having to restart DCS for the new images to be detected, so switched to OpenKneeboard
  14. nullLink: https://github.com/niru-27/DCS-Keybinds-Manager Backup & Import your keybinds even after UUID changes (different USB port/Windows reinstall) Share you keybinds with others who have the same device as you FC3 alone has 9 modules. If you have just a throttle + stick, that's 9 x 2 = 18 times you have to manually import the LUAs from Controls Menu. Then there's the other categories like UI Layer, Camera, Default, etc., that can have their own separate binds. Imagine if you have more devices & modules, especially if you're into DIY button boxes. They quickly add up, prompting me to come up with a way to handle the UUID changes seamlessly. Bonus: Handles your custom Modifiers assignment Handles the leading space in the filenames for VKB devices, which Windows removes any time you try to copy-paste the LUA files More info in the repo.
  15. No fps drops in map/exterior views in a couple of sessions so far. Will test over the next few days and update, since this happens to me randomly
  16. That's right. F1 view = normal 60+ fps I press F10 = fps drops to <20, sometimes <10 I press F1 = normal 60+ fps, as though nothing happened at all. Happens even with Low preset + 1280x720 resolution, and my VRAM no where close to 8 or 6 GB whichever is the usable limit
  17. @BIGNEWY @desolunatic In 2d, the the problem is triggered in the exact opposite way: I made a macro that sends Alt+Tab whenever is switch to/fro any external view. The moment I get Alt-Tab'd to another application, that's when my GPU goes to 100% and fps drops. As soon as I return to F1, fps returns to normal. Only difference is I'm on Low preset and MSI Afterburner shows my VRAM in 2k range, so my graph doesn't exceed the max VRAM. Bignewy, should I open a separate thread and post a video there, or wait until the VR issue is investigated as that might offer some insight to this problem? Edit: forgot to add screenshot Does anyone know what PRESENT indicates in the graph?
  18. Issue still exists on 2.9 MT. Guess the only thing to do is give up all views other than F1
  19. I'm so sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, my Saved Games and temp folders are indeed on HDD. Will move the Saved Games folder to SSD if it helps DCS. Since it's happening with NVMe drives as well, I will try clearing my system drive and see if that makes any difference I don't even have NVIDIA Experience installed, just the driver. Also there seems to be 2 different issues being described on this thread: For me using monitor, the fps drop occurs when I leave F1 view, for e.g. to view F10 map. Becomes normal if I press F1 For others in VR, the fps drop occurs not when they go to F10 map, but when they press F1 to return
  20. Can confirm this works for both C and C II. Thanks a lot for sharing
  21. And here is a log from a clean DCS install + fresh Saved Games folder, to rule out problematic mods/scripts. dcs.log
  22. I've been facing this issue since Feb 2023. Sometimes after flying for a few minutes, when I press F2, my FPS drastically drops. Seems the CPU frame time for "Present" is spiking in F2 and GPU usage spikes to 100%. If I switch to F1 view, I get normal, stable FPS. A few observations: The issue occurs in both ST and MT FPS drops + 100% GPU usage whenever I switch to F2/F6/F10 views AFTER a random duration. Initially there is no issue switching views Normal FPS + normal GPU usage when returning to F1 view Happens no matter the graphic settings. Have tried with Low/Med/High presets, always occurs Not a VRAM issue: tried with low textures and monitored VRAM usage in MSI Afterburner, happens even with VRAM <90% full Not a e-core issue: I have a 12400 with no e-cores I've tried with a clean copy of DCS with no mods/scripts. Still occurs. The moment it starts to occur is random: I've tested with the same mission/campaign. Sometimes the issue occurs, sometimes it doesn't Attached below is the ST log from today. dcs.log DxDiag.txt
  23. Well, well, well...seems like you're the only one being obnoxiously loud now.
  24. But...but...that is not realistic - you can't respawn in real life with your previous life's memories, why should you be allowed here. Totally ruins muh immersion /s Precisely. This is about Combat simulation. Not audio simulation. If you want to destroy your hearing and end up with Tinnitus, crank all the volumes all the way up. ECS sound adds nothing to the combat aspect, but has a proven detrimental effect on hearing. Also, from a more "realistic" PoV: sound loudness does not scale linearly with distance. While having the vent sound play from a speaker far away would be ideal and allow radio comms to be heard better via the headset. But when both are played via headset, the ECS will sound much louder.
  25. Do you want hearing damage? That's realistic too How about every time the plane is destoyed, you have to re-buy the module? You know just like IRL How about every time you eject someone comes and compresses your spine? Makes you think twice about pulling risky manoeuvres. You know just like IRL While it may be realistic to replicate the same sounds heard in the cockpit, it needs to be balanced with the bad effects it will have on your health IRL. We're here for the aircrafts, not a fricking HVAC simulation.
