It resets as soon as you touch zoom function and it doesn´t save per plane so as good as useless. EDIT:It doesn´t save at all.. just tested.

Yeah, for external fov.. not cockpit.
-
When even a thing as basic as adjusting cockpit FOV requires script editing.. yeah..

There are loads of FM related stuff in the "Ongoing tasks for later updates" section of the latest changelog, and they have mentioned it earlier aswell so known issues.

Ouch.. that's bad.

Not broken here. Secondary shadows apply only to supercarrier. PG looks damn good, and runs super smooth aswell. Night lights are stunning!

That's literally how it works currently though, obviously quite succesfully aswell. -

I'd imagine that the over 1000€ i have put in this game would justify expecting a few "free" updates, especially since some of the modules aren't in finished state years after release. DCS seems to be doing something right though, looks to be running strong and it's propably the second biggest sim out there. -
It propably was a bad idea. I don´t know if many people actually use it regularily? Although, i suppose answer to "how many bought it" determines if it was a good or a bad idea. I´ve found it a fun occational pastime, while waiting for other aircraft to finish their stuff in a Liberation campaign, but that´s about it. It´s just too barebones to justify spending time with it instead of flying, as one would expect. I´d love some real improvements for ground AI though, especially to make chopper stuff more fun. Arma is a bad comparison btw. It´s a great, fun game, but it´s not superb in anything.. and they have been at it for 20 years. Arma is one of those games, where everything is more or less a compromise to make it work as a whole (and some things are a compromise because ancient game engine, but you know..).

I used to have all kinds of issues with combining monitors (with different refresh rates), but not with Win11. I have a vertical 1080p, 60hz freesync monitor combined with 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor and they work fine with DCS. I do have the mfd screens set on my second monitor and it's as smooth as ever. So maybe win 11 is the answer. It's quite good really. I recommend using "god mode" like in earlier windows. https://appuals.com/activate-god-mode-windows-11/

Throttle levers imo are the worst "feature" in the TM Hotas Warthog. I don´t think there´s a massive epidemy with them breaking though. I was bit surprised that i couldn´t find any 3d-print replacement models for the actual levers, or even something that bolts into the detent slot for the purpose of extra support to make them more solid. The throttle feels really plasticky in use and it´s something i´m hoping to resolve myself one way or another. You could try to lube yours, i´ve had issue with another TM product before, that apparently it had sat in storage forever and i had to relube it straight out of the box.

Ability to use the comms menu like Jester menu
Tenebrae Aeternae replied to Atom1285's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes! This is a brilliant way to do a menu and i can´t imagine why it haven´t been copied to other stuff sooner. The ability to just look at what you want is super convenient. -
It´s really a matter of personal preference. Some people are more than happy with 30fps, some people can´t live with anything below 60. The best way is to experiment and make up your own mind. When you ask, you will no doubt get all sorts of various answers based on peoples personal comfort choices. It´s also best to try not to stare the fps counter religiously, instead of focusing how the game feels to play. I fail at this miserably. Personally.. I try to keep things running above 60fps, i couldn´t enjoy VR and the one thing i can´t live without is g-sync..

Got interested enough to find some benchmarks, and indeed at least with MFS, DLSS in Quality mode, flat screen 4k was around 13% performance boost and in VR 25% performance boost. Having used DLSS quite a bit, i doubt many people would want to steer away from the "quality" mode, especially in VR. I use sometimes "Balanced", but it gets quite noticeable at that point, no doubt doubly annoying in VR. -

Yeah talking about 2d, but thinking it logically, it will downscale it and upscale it in proportion.. so also the downscaled resolution in VR is much higher than in 2d. Otherwise it would look horrible. -

It´s brilliant technology getting better and better, i´ve used it in a wide range of games and it´s really really good. The gains however won´t be quite as massive without noticeable loss in quality, but still it´s not a horrible tradeoff for the boost you get. Using ie. "quality" setting will give a very nice boost with minimal image loss, but certainly not doubling the fps. The AMD equivalent isn´t quite as good unfortunately. -
Tenebrae text color edit 0.01
Tenebrae Aeternae replied to Tenebrae Aeternae's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Figured how to do it. Bit messy how it´s done seems to me, because half of the menu worked different from half of it. Had to learn a bit about the relationships of the scripts, then create my color to a script that can then be called by other scripts.. anyway, uploaded the tweak and will post a link when it´s online. -
They constantly add support to new titles though.

Hey. I decided to change the font size and color in the comms menu (and some other in-game text) to something that´s much easier for my eyes to read. However, i just can´t figure out how to edit the rest of the comms menu, anyone have a clue? It´s the text that´s still white that´s the issue. EDIT:Figured it out eventually, here´s the linky. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326493/

Better ground troop behaviour and damage model would make the world of difference for Huey stuff.
