SU-57 Felon EFM Build
1MajorKoenig replied to cubanace's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hi all, thanks for the answers and great help! I am now on Beta and indeed the plane shows up now. Another question: I am able to use the DCS weapons R-77 and R-73 but the “custom” ones such as K-77M, R-37M etc. won’t launch. I don’t see a “LA” or the shooting range calculation either - only the min range in the HUD. Are these not fully modeled or am I missing something? -
Thanks all for the good explanations and advice! I am now testing with different zoom/FoV and I think I will find a good compromise. Finally I understand why some people use multiple monitors…

What do you want to see most in DCS World?

A playable MiG-25 And proper ground control / IAD and vectoring of interceptors by AI potentially linked to an auto pilot even -
Thanks all for the help - I will work a bit on the zoom which I currently have on one of the hotas wheels. What I find counterintuitive though is that moving your head forward with the Track IR seems like the same as zoom except from the symbology on the HUD (which is only affected by the zoom indeed). Btw. as you are mentioning specific FoV angles - is there an easy way to see which angle you currently have? EDIT: oh and putting zoom on Track IR axis may be interesting as well draconus… maybe I try that out as well - thank you for the idea

SU-57 Felon EFM Build

Hi, thanks! Although I am indeed on the stable build - so that would mean I need the Beta version….? Any chance to get a build for the stable version…? EDIT: looked for „switch to Open Beta“ - maybe I try that… -
SU-57 Felon EFM Build
1MajorKoenig replied to cubanace's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hi I downloaded the latest version from a couple of posts above this one but the exterior model won't load (cockpit does) - anyone else with such problem? Or any idea what could be wrong? This is how it looks like (missiles load and you can even the exaust but the plane model isn't there): -
-
A Tu-22M would be nice
-
Thanks - the HUD isn’t out of position it is just too small. I am currently experimenting with different zoom levels but I am not really happy with it so far. Hope to find a good setting for the zoom and still have a good overview. Ideally I would just make the HUD a bit larger and keep the rest of the zoom a bit lower to keep a better field of view
-
Not sure how exactly this would look like but it would add a lot of done properly
-
Ok thanks for the explanation. I was hoping for a setting which would fit the HUD size to your seating position but than I need to see if the zoom function covers what I need. Thanks anyway
-
Yes sure but what do you doing it is too small to read? Basically the HUD only covers half of the glass in the current setting Also if you use the zoom axis the HUD appears larger on screen?
-
Hmm.. sorry but I am afraid I cannot follow. If I move closer to HUD information stays for your impression the same size? If that is he case you would certainly need to scale that size to make it fit your view or not? Is there a HUD-size button?

Hi, I found this 3D model of the MiG-29SMT Cockpit: https://www.turbosquid.com/de/3d-models/3d-cockpit-mig-smt-1669964 Is anyone here knowledgeable and interested in making a MiG-29SMT mod with this? The S-Version we have looks like a good basis? Is this even possible? Thanks all
-
Hi, I am having trouble with the zoom function. I use Track IR to control the view but when I lean forward, the HUD stays the same size (and looks tiny compared to the glass). Now I am aware we can configure zoom an a Hotas axis but that isn’t really what I am looking for. Shouldn’t the HUD appear larger if you lean forward? Thanks for the support! Module is FC3/MiG-29S (but it behaves similar on other modules)
-
Yes I heard about that and think it is a good idea. However it looks like they simply „recycle“ DCS modules (eg. MiG 21) into a simpler FC style product. Instead of enriching DCS with more variety in 1990s planes
-
I am aware of the current situation but I don’t appreciate this. Hence why I would like to see more modern (at least 1990s style) Russian fighters in low fidelity as we all know they full fidelity is not going to happen and the selection of planes will stay insufficient
-
Some red planes would be good but apparently we are getting all sorts of other stuff. Personally I would prefer if ED + partners would flesh out their main era with an appropriate amount of planes and a dynamic campaign first before divesting into other eras which feel somewhat unpopulated (Korea and WW2 for the most part). At the moment is seems that DCS can do reasonably well in a 1990s scenario but is missing out variety there. For red planes we are mostly limited to Flaming Cliffs and even theses are more 1980s. I was more hoping for some content for this scenario, such as: - FF MiG-25PD - FF MiG-23 (I know in the works but not even mentioned in the trailer so probably far far away) - plus: another Flaming Cliffs with reasonably up to date Russian aircraft (which won’t come as FF) such as MiG-29SMT, Su-35S and eg. Su-30MKI or so. Maybe even a MiG-21-93/Bison and a MiG-23-98
-
Plus the MiG-23MLA is in the works - although not exactly multi role In my opinion an extension of Flaming Cliffs for more up to date Russian Planes would be amazing such as the Su-35S and MiG-29SMT - as those won’t come as full fidelity. EDIT: what would be extremely amazing would be a full fidelity MiG-31M though - you know the 1990s prototype of the next generation MiG-31 which got canceled

Help - 2.7.7 - mods stopped working? Did I miss a memo?
1MajorKoenig replied to 1MajorKoenig's topic in DCS Modding
Hmm found a comment by @cubanace on his latest video concerning the new Su-57 flight model that the current build doesn’t work anymore. That is probably the answer to my Su57 problem Cubanace - are you releasing a new build for 2.7.7 anytime soon? That would be awesome! Plus I need to find out what the problem with my other mods is EDIT: the su-35 seems to work as well - maybe the crashes were only caused by the outdated Su57 mod. Hope we we get a new version soon! -

Help - 2.7.7 - mods stopped working? Did I miss a memo?
1MajorKoenig replied to 1MajorKoenig's topic in DCS Modding
EDIT: i think I found the log. And I found two lines: Couldn’t load entry.lua and couldn’t load views.lua for this mod. When I look at the mod folder it certainly contains an entry.lua file. And I used this mod for quite a while - not sure where it stopped working. Anyone having an idea? -
Help - 2.7.7 - mods stopped working? Did I miss a memo?
1MajorKoenig replied to 1MajorKoenig's topic in DCS Modding
Thanks. It looks though as it it unchecked already. If I press it it gets highlighted in light blue. Hm yes I expect something goes wrong with the mod. Even the armament preview won’t load. And if I select the Su-57 the mission won’t load anymore. Even if I switch the plane back to some vanilla plane. Stupid question: where can I find these logs? -
Hi all, I absolutely LOVE Cubanace’s Su-57 Mod, the SU-35S Mod and the F-22A Mod! However I have trouble with missions not loading on the current release - am I doing it wrong? Was anything changed? Any advice greatly appreciated!
-
Thanks - yes that is where I found them and that is where my questions are coming from Ah, didn’t know these are ex-Ukrainian. Thanks! Do you know if they did anything with ECM, the Radar, etc.? Do these have an IRST?
