  1. DCS Bumblebee! Good idea. Integrates with DCS A10C and Blackshark so players can annoy pilots by being stuck in the cockpit with them :D
  2. Hi I am looking for a squadron. I do have other real life commitments but I would easily be able to make a couple of 'official' flights per month plus other random fly-ins. I'm from the UK and have been playing flightsims for two decades (35 years old). :)
  3. Personally, I would love a 1980s Cold War carrier ops mod. F14s, Intruders and E3C :D
  4. Thanks for the response. It sounds awesome and I can't wait. I would even be interested in developing modules (im a software developer), but perhaps only asthetic ones rather than actual planes. Good job!
  5. Oh excellent. Bring it on!!!
  6. Thats cool. I'm wondering though, lets say that someone purchases an F18 module and joins a server that also knows about the F18 module, that person can then fly around in his F18. However, if someone who does not have the F18 module joins, would be possible for them to see, but not fly, the F18? I'm just wondering, because imagine if a server has multiple modules installed, it would be a bit of a nightmare for other players who do not have all the modules to have to go and purchase them all just to play. I'm worried that multiplayer could become a bit fractured because of all the different installations combinations possible. My solution would be the ability to download a 'free' version of the module that only contains the models so that other players can see them in game.
  7. Theres some interesting news there. But it does raise some more questions: I'll ask them anyway. 1. The core based system is a good move. But how will this affect multiplayer? Will players have to fork out for the module to play on a particular server or will there be 'world models' to allow folk who don't have the module to play, yet not be able to access said module? 2. Again on multiplayer, are we going to see something along the lines of a dedicated server? If the game is going to expand rapidly, it would make sense to see multiplayer expand too. For me, multiplayer makes the game so much more immersive and I beleive ED needs to promote this a bit more. Just my 2p.
  8. That would interesting. Would it be possbile for a pilot to toss bomb the GBU and then for another to lase the target for a precision strike? That would be a neat trick.
  9. Spark, I guess that would be a tactical decision. If you were engaging enemies that could shoot back or you need a precision strike to avoid collateral damage, a GBU-12 would be ideal since it can be laser guided. If you're just bombing a few trucks or light threats then MK-82s would do the job nicely, plus you would have the toss bombing option. Just my 2p
  10. Woop! It's here! I just have to wait till I get home now, working until 8 :(
  11. It's something I'll consider if I run into problems, which I hope I wont.
  12. Ok thanks. Im used to the reflective strips from when I used TIR2
  13. It comes with Track clip, but not Track Clip Pro. Whats the difference?
  14. I had a TrackIR2 but it doesnt work with A10C. So not a complete newb, but this 6DoF thing is new to me.
  15. Ordered from Flightstore.co.uk :) Any tips on set up or anything I should know to avoid any confusion? :)
  16. If it was a MiG-29 or other RU fighter, I would imagine it would have quite a lot of black engine smoke like they do.
  17. Cool. Thanks :)
  18. Hi guys I was flying a mission last night, which involved some high altitude flight. As I was climbing through 10,000ft I forgot to enable my pitot heat switch. As a result, when I was returning to base and reducing speed, my IAS indicator was all over the place causing a speed caution warning. It recovered eventually (I guess as I was at a lower altitude or something). I am right in thinking this is what happens if you neglect the pitot heat arent I? Also, is there a way of switching to an alternate speed indication system if this happens? Thanks.
  19. Hi It's been a fair while since I've been able to play A10C properly, so just wondering if anyone was around for some multiplayer tonight or sunday night? I'm happy to put up a small server if needs be. My steam name is [TGUK] Rossi (i think) or maybe tgukrossi
  20. Apache crash in Afghanistan No one killed or injured... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-17481023 Looks like extreme pilot error to me. Thoughts?
  21. You can't directly see the locations of enemy using the TAD, but what you can do is hook other flights SPIs in the TAD. For example, there might be a flight of F16 doing a SEAD mission. They will a appear in your TAD. When they designate a target as their sensor point of interest, it will appear in the TAD as a diamond. The Serpents Tail mission is a good example of this. It's the same for all flights really, other A10Cs will designate targets as SPI, which you can hook and set as your own. Simply set the TAD as SOI and move the cursor around. Then hook any particular desgination you want using TMS forward short, then TMS forward long to set as your SPI. A10 SPIs will appears as two-tier 'cake' symbol in the HUD, where as your own is a three tier 'cake' symbol. Other flights are diamons I beleive.
  22. It was so long ago, it's all just a vague memory.
  23. 2.8ghz isn't too slow at all. I'm running a 2.8Ghz Phenom II X6 1055T which is absolutely fine. But obviously faster is better.
  24. 35 here. Seems a bit daft that people are barking on about the specifics of the poll lol. ED is a shining light in the sim industry and I salute them for it. I am so pleased that they are the benchmark to follow. It's just a shame that not many are following suit. :( Keep going ED!
