The problem with Outerra, is that its procedurally generated. Which makes multiplayer a bit of a headache to say the least.

This has probably been asked for before. It would be neat if we could have civilian AI aircraft we can place on the map. There a few commercial airports dotted around the map so it would be quite cool to add aircraft parked at the gates. And there could be some cool ideas for missions involving civilian traffic, ranging from long haul jets to perhaps even microlights. :)

Ok I have a question. I no longer have lock on, so how much is this going to cost me to get up to speed? Lockon+fc1+fc2+fc3?

Well depends on your budget. ST290 looks ok to me. But to get the most you should consider a HOTAS. The Saitek X52 is a good stick which I use. The more commands you can bind to the stick the better.

F4 Phantom II but only if we can dual cockpit in multiplayer :D -
This isn't a fighter. More a flying weapons delivery platform. Yanking back on the stick is just not the done thing and typical airspeeds are about half that a Falcon or other fast jet. You're just not going to get the performance statistics you're talking about.

On the retail version you can edit the shortcut to run as administrator then the message doesn't appear.

I heard back from Tim Stone and he plans to make the P51D beta the lead article in his next column tomorrow. I could never get TARS to work. Perhaps complicated is the wrong word. Integrating something more seamless would be beneficial to all though. And yes 8, 11 optional. Options are always good!

Just thought I would collate some of thoughts that would be a welcome addition to the multiplayer side of DCS World. 1. Dedicated server software 2. A lobby system. Much like Hyperlobby where squads can talk and organise before playing 3. A mission rotation system. Servers should load the next mission if the objectives are completed or a time out is reached 4. 'World Model' downloads for Third party add ons. If a player joins the server but does not have a specific aircraft, the model downloads to the client allowing them to see the aircraft in game but not fly it. 5. Integrated voice communication. This could be very cool, no need for complicated TARS setup. 6. Skin download. Automatically download the custom skins pilots are using 7. 'Off server' resource download. For the aforementioned downloads, the client is redirected to a HTTP location and the download comes from there. This happens within the client, much like Valves HLDS does. This elimiates download lag on the server. 8. When radio calls are made by clients, the text in the top left shows who is making that call by name. 9. When clicking on a server in the lobby, list who is on the server. 10. Timeout for idle clients 11. Sync server to real world time :) Like I said, its a wish list. :D

Yes. All thats required is the MD5 hash of the mission file to be sent first to the client. If the client sees the same hash on the mission file in his mission folder, then it's good to go. Otherwise, download the file (or deny, according to server settings). Alternatively, redirect and allow an automatic HTTP download. Much like the HLDS resource system in Half Life. -

Gentleman Flyers... I would like to invite you to a session of A10C/Blackshark on the night of Sunday 6th May. We will be playing the excellent Operation Pilot Search mission. I shall be hosting and playing the mission. :) I'm specifically looking at Pewbeef and members of the SHREK flyers here :) But all are welcome. Due to the limits of my internet connection I think I can host a maximum of 6 players without too much trouble. If ED want to preserve multiplayer, I think a dedicated server is the only way to go.
