KILSEK replied to Chizh's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Hi all and Chizh. Will this help? http://tri.army.mil/LC/CS/csa/kpdesc.htm I will try to find more. -KILSEK Here's another. http://win.www.airwar.ru/other/draw/oh58d.html -KILSEK Looking at the specs here: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/oh-58.htm They seem real close to the specs here. -KILSEK BTW, and I bet you already know this, the Kiowa Warrior is the Bell helo 406. The specs I posted are for the Bell helo 407. -KILSEK Here is the source: 4th row 2nd pic http://images.google.com/images?q=BELL+407&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=40&sa=N -KILSEK -
Lock On FC 1.1 FPS tweak compatible with ED new Su-25T skin
KILSEK replied to a topic in DCS Modding
This is great stuff here. Hi all and ThomasDWeiss. Thanks for taking the time and effort to create the 1.11 Version of your FPS Tweak. It Doubled+ my FPS all the while allowing me to keep all the trees and structures. Thanks BIGTIME. -KILSEK -
So far, So Great!!! Hi all. The release of 1.11 gave me the reason I needed to uninstall LO/FC and re-install everything without any modded files to see the pure final product. So far everything is AWESOME!!! Thanks for the Flaming Cliffs Activation Store Utility, it came in handy to save my reg key and not waste a activation. I have not played online yet, but I have been playing SP tonight. I may be incorrect in this statement but it seems I cannot shoot the Eagle down as easily as I could before(in SP mode). I will be playing til dawn in SP mode to check out all the new features. Thanks to Alexander "Redline" Solovkov, George "GYS71" Sinitso, Dmitry Kirichinsky, Marat "Aim" Zeinetdinov, Marс Marbot, Peter "Peter Pan" Ruzanov, Yury "SuperVasia" Bratukhin, & Mig-Mag for creating these new beautiful models. They are nothing short of AWESOME. I am looking forward to flying all the jets in SP tonight and playing MP tomorrow. Thanks again Team ED. -KILSEK

<S!> Hi all. Yes, Thanks bigtime to the Eagle Dynamics team. I am very appreciative of the time and effort you folks put into developing this patch. The readme shows that you not only fixed problems, but added features and newer models which are just beautiful. Thank you very much. -KILSEK

Thanks for the heads up. Hi all. I tried them and they did not benefit me. The 77.72's have worked the best for me so far. Using 3DMark05, my scores are as follows: 77.72's w/ 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image=3766 77.72's w/ everything off=4822 81.85's w/ 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image=3454 81.85's w/ everything off=4774 I play LO/FC with 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image, 1024x768, 32 bit color, and when I flew my Sevastopol rooftop flight using the 77's I get 17 fps solid. Using the 81's I noticed a few dips to 16. My system specs: Intel P-4 2.8GHz 400MHz FSB Intel Mobo DM850MV RDRAM 1280MB NVidia GeFORCE 6800 GT Creative Audigy Gamer 24-BIT WD 60 Gig HD 7200RPM Memorex CDROM 52X Sony R/RW/CDROM 24X10X40X Antec Neo 480 Watt PS Samsung 955DF Monitor M$ Win XP Home SP2 M$ Keyboard & Mouse Saitek X52 I will probably go back to the 77's, but I just finished d/l 1.11 so I am going to test the 81's one more time in game. Thanks again 3DFlyer for the heads up about the new drivers. -KILSEK

YEAH YEAH congratulations Hi all. AWWWW SHADDUP!!! ;) Seriously, congratulations and good luck in the series. :icon_jook -KILSEK

Hi all. Edited: It has to be a human. The scene at 1:12 shows it "rotating?". If the A.I. is doing that, I'll, I'll, I'll, well, I won't do anything, :icon_redf but I would surely be shocked. -KILSEK

Hi all and Olgerd. Would Janes have the useful information? http://catalog.janes.com/catalog/public/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.ProductInfoBrief&product_id=73970 -KILSEK

Files in Structures\High Folder?!?
KILSEK replied to hreich's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
One other thing. Hi all and hreich. BTW, I forgot to mention this. You need to adjust your graphics file and graphicssd file (both current setting) to this: structures = {100, 10000}; for it to work properly. If you leave it, it will just use the buildings left over and over to fill that number. Let me know what you think. -KILSEK -
Files in Structures\High Folder?!?
KILSEK replied to hreich's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all and hreich. Goto->Lock on program->bazar->structure table.sht file. You will see entries like this: name = "bak_water"; file = "bak"; life = 80; fire = { 300, 5}; classname = "lOilTank"; username = "tank"; positioning = "ADD_HEIGTH"; That should help you figure it out. Here is my current structure file. You can see that it is quite smaller than the original. Create a folder named "High" then extract to there. http://rapidshare.de/files/6069128/High.zip.html -KILSEK -
Hi all. Yeah, I was sweating as much as the AC was straining to get that load up. So do you think there are many folks who know that they too can put on a heavy load and sacrifice the fuel until they get ingame? -KILSEK I was just thinking :icon_roll . There are folks who don't know about alot of things with what they can do in LO/FC, so it's not too much of a big deal. Folks will figure it out as they go along, just like everything else. Anyway, the word is out. -KILSEK
-
Hi all. I see it as a bug. If overloading in the load-out screen says it won't allow it, but start the mission and you can, it seems like a bug. I was thinking about it and there is 2 ways to look at it. 1) It may be a unrepairable bug. There may be no way to stop folks from adding in so much fuel once they are ingame. There really is not much the sim can do once you are in and top off your tanks. 2) It may be a repairable bug. At the loadout screen, if you overloaded, it issues a warning. -KILSEK

Someone remind me which folders to save . .
KILSEK replied to britgliderpilot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all and britgliderpilot. You probably want your MISSIONS & ME folder too. -KILSEK -
Hi all. Yeah, that is exactly what I saw in that mission. The A-10A helped to amplify(by using a heavy load-out & minimal fuel load) and confirm that effect. Oh yeah, it handled like it was over-loaded. It sure seems like a bug though. Not being able to configure it that way on the load-out screen but to do that in game. Getting some feedback from the Dev's & testers would be a good thing. -KILSEK
-
Hi all. Man, this one is tough to report. It's definitly a bug and worse, a cheat. OK, here's the deal. I took a A-10A and loped it so that it had 9 Mk-84's and 2 rack's of 3 mavericks. This load on the load-out screen allows me to only take 34% of a fuel load. Now, enter a mission and hit refuel. You can top-off the fuel tanks on your AC and now you are over-loaded. I noticed it a couple of nights ago doing a anti ship strike in a 33 with a Kh-41 Moskit and 4 missiles. That was the most I could take and still have enough fuel(I think it was around 92-94%) to do the mission. I powered up, taxied to the runway, and refueled before take-off. I was able to top off, and at that point something seemed wrong. Here is the pics of the A-10A. -KILSEK

New movie: Black Sea Operations Teaser trailer
KILSEK replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all and Glowing_Amraam. Man that is a great teaser. ED needs to grab you and your talents to help market all future products. The scene @ 40 seconds is just AWESOME. It's kind of WW3/Apocolypse style/Hell on Earth $#!*. Good stuff. <S!> -KILSEK -
Hi all. Out of 15 activations, I have used 1 originally and may be using another one a little after the release of 1.11. This does not effect me right now, but does have my attention. My question: How difficult is it to get another 15 activations? Is it a matter of physically doing this? Or, is it more of a generosity issue? Is it a matter of generating another key and emailing it to BuzzU? Maybe this professional business representative was/is having a bad day, and felt like being "rammy". Maybe another ED Rep. who is feeling alittle more generous and does not not mind taking the time to help, could accomplish this for BuzzU? -KILSEK

Interesting Info on Migs vs. AMRAAMs
KILSEK replied to GGTharos's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all. Now when I read this I first think it takes technology from the AIM-54 Phoenix. The problem there is that the Phoenix was not very effective for engaging fighters. Later in the article it mentions using RAMJET. I mention this for the following reasons. We are discussing this in the context of a "perfect A2A missile". It will be fast, have active radar for accuracy, and be small enough so that it can be used on many platforms. The problems. I am not sure of missile sizes, but the AIM-54 is probably the largest A2A missile in service, correct? The F-14 is probably the largest fighter in service, correct? Now they are going to add RAMJET tech to something like that? IIRC, NASA tested a RAMJET last year. IIRC that thing was strapped to the wing of a B-52. So how can a missile that holds all that capability, engineneered down to a size of what, say the size of a AIM-7, be cost effective? How much did an AIM-54 cost? How much will the system that launches that thing cost? Now mutiply that by what, say 6-8 of those babies to the jet that can use them. Orao is right, they are going to want that missile inside the F-22. I have no idea what a F-22 cost, but if it gets shot down or crashes(which does/will happen) you can just watch you national dept shoot through the roof. I agree with B_R_D & Pilotasso. There is probably a limit to A2A missiles. You may be able to improve on a current system, like they did for the AIM-9x. Will there ever be the perfect missile? Maybe it's time to start arming jets with LASERS. :icon_roll . You won't be able to spoof it. All you will need is positive ID from an AWACS/JSTAR. -KILSEK
