Hi all and Schintzel. That is real cool of you to post that. Thanks, I appreciate you doing this. -KILSEK

Hi all. LOL, Yep, that sounds like a the beginning of a campaign I am creating. I have been thinking about this subject when I am creating, and for me (easy radar user) they odds of me surviving that kind of engagment is probably slightly ;) better for me than it is for others (real radar users). I admit that going h2h against pilots w/excellent skills and missile effectiveness set to 100%, I still get my rear-end handed to me 80-90% of the time. I really do want to share my campaign with the community, but it going to be the way I want it. I was glad to see that if I make it my way and not classify it folks may take some time to edit it to suit their taste. I just like easy radar because I can create these incredibly "odds against me" missions where my skills and tactics can turn the tide of the battle and I feel like the hero. If I fail then those incredible odds against me will shoot my allies, my awacs, my tanker, steel my dog and blow up my house. @Dusty Rhodes: that is exactly what I am trying to create. Waves of enemies so that I have time to get back to my base, re-arm/re-fuel, and then get back into the action. Great topic. -KILSEK

Hi all and britgliderpilot. I must have deleted the 1.02 readme and although I still have the 1.0-1.02 d/l I cannot open it to get to the readme. Since shadows just control shadows no other visuals, I am going to test the settings for them and find a setting I like. Thanks for the reply. -KILSEK

Hi all. My intentions are to build this PC up as much as possible and then build a gaming PC. I know alot more about them now than I did so long ago(like using Intel and Rambus) and then have this one for as a secondary. Thanks all. -KILSEK -
Hi all. I finally enabled shadows and I do like the way the make LOMAC/1.1 look. I Have one problem with them though. When I view them from certain angles and whatever, they look like those pieces of paper they put on models in wind tunnels to look at airflow over an object. I am wanting to disable them, but before that I would like to know if they have an effect on any other visuals. I remember some time ago a topic about advanced haze had an effect on the runway lights at night. I am asking because I do not know if I would be missing out on an effect that I maybe able to finally see. Thanks, -KILSEK

Hi all. My apologies for bringing up and old topic. Thanks Han for the answer. I have seen that and always thought it was my system. Thanks for verifying and clarifying. -KILSEK

Hi all and Brit_Radar_Dude. Oh yeah, this is the first site I check whenever I logon. Yeah that 6800 is really showing me some jaw dropping graphics. If you don't mind me asking, did you get FC1.1? I am curious because I am working on a Su-33 campaign and I have been wanting to ask for some help with it. You know how I play, easy radar and destroying everything I see, and I would like to get some ideas of what I can add and where it would seem most likely to be placed. The number of missions in the campaign is ~20, 8-10 for the west penisula starting point(the ADM. KUZ off the coast of Sevatopol) and 10-12 to finish the campaign on the eastern penisula. I would like the missions to include many different types(a2a/a2g) of targets, require multiple takeoffs/landings and take 90-120 minutes to complete. It is a fictional campaign w/ Ru vs the rest of the world. There are some other things as far as the way I envision the campaign but that is the idea. If you have some freetime and are interested let me know. I am re-reading this before I post it and I am thinking that you would not need 1.1 to help, to play it yeah, but to help, no. BTW, When I was programming my x-45 I came across a command, the ctrl+f11 free camera mode or something like that. Now when I plow into the ground doing high-speed, low-level flight trying to check out the landscape, I hit my f2 key which cycles through the airfields for me, I can hit ctrl+f11 and then use my mouse and travel through the land site-seeing. It is just awesome to see the amount of detail ED put into it and I can stop right where I want and take the time to really soak up the landscape and its' details. Keep up the great, and I mean great work ED. I have not played one other game since I purchased FC1.1. I am finally able to appreciate the effort you all have put into LOMAC/FC1.1. You folks have your "stuff together". :icon_jook :icon_weed  :icon_pidu . -KILSEK -
Hi all. Thanks Force_Feedback. This helped and solved a little prob I was having with sensitivty. Thanks, -KILSEK

Hi all. Thanks for the replies and advice. My intentions are to use and improve this PC for as long as I can and then build a new gaming PC knowing alot more now than I did 3 years ago. I want to say that I am having a great day playing LOMAC/FC1.1. I am seeing some of the best and most awesome images while I am playing. The lighting effects from an Eagle trying to evade my missiles at 10 miles out, pumping out flares, and seeing the light reflect off the aircraft from that distance was nothing less than jaw-dropping. The explosions no longer cause a stutter. I have enabled the heat blur and that is just so awesome to see that. I am sure many of you have been seeing these effects for a long time, but for me, it is brand new experience. I have cranked this card to: 8x-aa 16x-af high quality image settings Vsync-on Trilinear-Mipmaps conformant texture clamp-on negative LOD bias-allow FWIW, I always ctrl+alt+delete at the end of a seesion just to see how much memory was used and GGTharos is absolutely correct. Most of the time LOMAC/FC1.1 maxes out at ~800mb of memory, there have been a few occasions where it has used more, and when it does you folks know how your rig starts acting. So 1 gig will work well, and 2 even though it won't improve performance, would be for future considerations. Well, I am going to get back to playing. -KILSEK -
More Wild Weaselling - vs Patriot/Vulcan combo
KILSEK replied to britgliderpilot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all. YES SIR, I gained a appreciation for the 33 and have been flying it alot here lately. A2A, A2G, great maneuvering, speed, and carrier ops, I truely do enjoy flying that bird. I have been working on a campaign with the 33 and it is great to be able to set up air and ground threats, and be able to engage both. It is so cool to go and engage the enemy then fly back to the carrier that is 100nm off the coast, and get that catch that 3rd wire trap. :D -KILSEK -

Hi all and GGTharos. The words, "no $#!@" and "seriously" came right to mind when I read your post. I do believe you so that should save some bucks. Thanks for the reply and advice. -KILSEK -
Hi all. Well, I did it, I upgraded my, don't snicker now, GF4 TI 4600 to a BFG 6800 GT OC and the difference is of course like night and day. I had a little prob with the 71.89's causing a system reboot, so I removed them and installed the 71.84's and the prob is gone. LOMAC/FC1.1 is so much more fluid now and I believe I am seeing some lighting effects that the old card just could not show. I know I have the fastest processor (P-4 2.8 ghz) my FSB (400mhz) will allow, so the next thing will be more RAM. I have 512 mb of RDRAM (4 sticks of 128) and my plan is to get 4 sticks of 512, but that is not going to be cheap, probably around a grand. I am going to be testing different settings to find that max sweet spot I can run at. Right now the card is at: 2xQ-aa 2x-af high performance image settings Vsync-on Trilinear-Mipmaps conformant texture clamp-on extension limit-off trilinear optimization-on anisoscopic mip filter optimization-on anisoscopic sample optimization-on negative LOD bias-clamp The reason I mention this is that maybe some of you folks may know better than I what works well with LOMAC/FC1.1 and I would truely appreciate any suggestions you all may have. Thanks all, I going to go fix a bite to eat and get ready for one of the marathon gaming sessions. -KILSEK

Hi all. You have to love that search function. This exact problem is causing me all kinds of heartache and grief LOL. Well, I have never been one to use anything other than official stuff, so I guess to get some joy joy from my BRAND SPANKING NEW BFG 6800 GT OC I will remove the 71.89's and go to the 71.84's. I just upgraded from a GF4 TI 4600 and upped my 350w power supply to a 480w. So enough talk, time to remove and try the 71.84's, and you just know I'll be back to post some screens let you folks know how its' going. Gotta love that search function!!! -KILSEK

Hi all. Yes, I use the run->msconfig everytime I play LOMAC/FC1.1. I was using enditall2, but to have a program running in the background that killed programs running in the background, it did not seem to make much sense. FWIW, when I do run->msconfig, in the services tab I uncheck all(it leaves the neccessary one running) and I check two more, plug and pray and window audio. In the startup I uncheck all and only use the ltcycfg, profiler, and the saismart. I found out about this 6 months ago by calling M$ and using one of my per incidences. It works well and like you are saying, I just go back to run->msconfig and under the general tab check normal startup and reboot, everything loads and I am good to go. OH yeah BTW, when you first uncheck all the services and startup items and reboot, it will be a little longer for your system to reboot and get to you login/password screen, this is normal. -KILSEK

Hi all. That reminds me, I believe it was a United Airlines flight, that the stewardess gave the most hilarious pre-flight speech I have ever heard. I do not remember the whole speech, but she mentioned the buttertubs dropping from the ceiling w/ complimentary oxygen and that in case of a water landing we could keep the seat cushion as a souvenir, even folks whose eyes had already glazed over from hearing that for the thousinth time were laughing. She received a round of applause at the end. -KILSEK

Hi all. Thanks for sharing. I always liked it when the flights I was booked on had headphones for you so you could listen to your departure, getting handed off fromm tower to tower in flight, and then your arrival. One thing I was impressed with was that the ATC's always had a good attitude and even light-hearted moments while "Pushing Tin". Thanks again, -KILSEK

Hi all. It is great that ED is starting to "test" adding 3rd party models. :icon_supe My question is what altitude will this be operating at? It should fill the gap of reconnaissance, and will definitely be a true observation aircraft for NATO. :icon_jook Thanks for the great news ED. -KILSEK

Flying other aircrafts after SU-25t
KILSEK replied to airea's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all. :) Tank my ass, a tank moves, it's a brick....no it's a cinderblock. Take a cinderblock and throw it 15 feet and thats the 25t. Now take that block and go throw it in the air and make it do a loop, you will have just as much luck getting the 25t to do a loop. I have been flying the Su's lately and I have really enjoying LOMAC/FC1.1 more than ever. Learning to control the 25 and 25t are going to be very much a challenge, and if that's how it really flies IRL, you have got to truely admire that pilot. I was going NOE with it last night and that was getting to be a whole lot of fun, trying to keep the block in the air, find my targets, attack, and evade the AA and SAMs. You have got to admire that pilot :icon_jook . -KILSEK -
Any chance of revising pilot stats/status?
KILSEK replied to KILSEK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hey all. Yeah, I do try to accomplish missions w/o dying, but it does happen, sometimes :p . So what I am saying is that when I do get into a marathon session of LOMAC/FC1.1 and I am dying every 5-10-20 minutes because I'm testing me against 2-3-4 enemy AC or doing low level missions in the Hog, and the enemy get extremly lucky and kills me ;) , I would like to be able to continue playing w/o having to exit and edit the pilot status=1. I like the fact that my pilot can die, but I would much rather see it go into a stat column and continue playing and stats adjusting without having to exit the game to bring him back. What do you think and can this be done? -KILSEK -
Hi all. I would like to have the pilot stats/status screen changed. It is great that pilots die in LOMAC, not just by crashing, but also from combat hits. The problem I have is that if i want to continue with that pilot and his stats, I have to exit then change the "status=1" line to reactivate him. I would like to have it so that my default pilot still dies but does not lose the ability to keep tracking and updating his stats until I reactivate him. Could ED add a new stat, how many times he has died. Let me know what you folks think. Thanks, -KILSEK

NEW MISSION - Crimea Tour (updated)
KILSEK replied to Brit_Radar_Dude's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all and B_R_D. So what do you got going :icon_wink on here? A tour af the map? Alright, I'm interested. There probably is massive details to the map that I have never seen as I'm flying over at 40k, for instance, I know I have never seen that castle on the cliff before. D/l now and rating soon. -KILSEK -
Hi all. Has any noticed the when using easy radar on the A-10, the Mav's do not constantly update the distance to target? I usually see a 0.0 distance or a constant (for example) 4.7 Mi that stays that way even as I approach. I usually switch weaps, modes and targets (switching back to the original) to get a updated distance to target. I want to report it so that if it is a bug a fix may make it into the patch. -KILSEK

Hi all. So I was playing today and decided to give the Ru jets a spin. That is some fun flying there. I realized that I do not need to understand Russian to fly them, just remember my key assignments. Awhile back I posted how I had limited myself to just the nato birds and now realize that I was stupid for limiting myself to the fun this game has to offer. I am leaving town again for 17-20 days this time, but am taking my PC with me and am looking forward to spending my freetime flying the other jets. I am still going to stay with the easy radar, as I like jumping and just getting right to the action. Maybe, eventually, I will go back to real radar but for now I really do enjoy the total situational awareness and setting up my attacks to wipe the enemy entirely off the map. Damn this is one fine game!!! -KILSEK

Help with key command descriptions.
KILSEK replied to KILSEK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi all. Thanks. Yep you're right, I completely forgot all about that manual. I moved it out of the LOMAC/FC 1.1 program and put it in my adobe pdf's folder. -KILSEK
