Hi all. Agreed, that cockpit locks AWESOME. I am very excited about getting a helo sim loaded back into my HD. Question: Will ED add other nations MBT's(Challenger2, LeClerc, Leopard2) and/or other vehicles to 1.2 Black Shark? -KILSEK

Hi all and Wags. May I ask you a favor? When you say cranks, chopping, throttles, A-pole, F-pole, E-pole, It all sounds like Latin. Do you have a doc that you could post describing these and any other terminology that a green guy like myself or others could d/l to use as a reference? Not to blow smoke, but you are the one who, I believe, we all would agree, when you say "this is this" we take it as an absolute. -KILSEK

Hi all and Asterix28573. In the config->view->snapviews and snapviewsdefault there is a listing like this: Snap[2][13] = {} Snap[2][13]["viewAngle"] = 75.0 Snap[2][13]["vAngle"] = -17.0 Snap[2][13]["hAngle"] = 0 The [2] represents the aircraft id number and the [13] represents the default view. if you have not modified it your the number will be different, but as you can see I have modified mine for what I wanted to see and what I am happy with. My suggestion is to goto the two snapview files and adjust the settings for what you are wanting. I adjusted the numbers in both file to be identical in case there is any conflicts, I suggest doing the same. It does take some time to get going the right direction, but it can be done. -KILSEK BTW, the aircraft id numbers are located at the top of the view.LUA. -

Hi all. I missed this sticky yesterday. All these feature are very impressive. One thought that went through my mind, not a big thought but it's still a thought. The humancockpit=yes option. Sure not all the helo's have the same flight model, but won't it work on the same principle as it does with jets. A default cockpit(the Ka-50) and then an external model swap(for example the Hind or Apache). I am not saying that the Ka-50 does'nt have more than enough to offer to keep me interested, just that here's a new weaps platform to be able to control. One other question. In v1.2 there is going to be a flyable Ka-50, are there going to be other A.I. helos? Like the Lynx, the Tigre, the MD-500 Defender, the Gazelle, or perhaps different weaps loadouts/variants of the Huey? Thanks, -KILSEK -
Hi all. Edited: You know, I have hear this just as much as the rest of you and I have to say this. A dynamic campaign is IMO just a little novelty(sorry, maybe I am being a little harsh). IIRC in F4 the briefing gave you all the info you needed(alt you needed to be at, speed, time on target, and what you were looking for) so was there really a surprise(the targets were/are there, so go get 'em) or anymore of a rush than LO/FC provides. If anything, hearing the other packages comms and wishing you had that one last missile to help, or seeing that your sides armor is taking a beating and wishing you had taken a couple of mavs to perhaps turn the tide, now that had a some more immersion. But can't you do that with LO/FC? I mean everything but the comms? Set up a couple of extra flights or armor columns slugging it out, and the when you're done with your primary goto those areas and see whats up. If you survive your engagement, you maybe able to turn the tide of battle that way, if not... -KILSEK

Hi all. Do you know what would be great? To set-up the A.I. to have the ability to follow the terrain and do NOE flights. I can see it now, grab a Tornado and the set it to fly at 100' off the ground through the valleys at high speed. Better yet, set up a group of A.I. fighters to come at you at NOE. Hi all. In 1996 I had a Playstation and a WebTv, so a computer to me then was like a caveman with a stick and fire. My point is, that screenshot struck me. What version of flanker is that? How was the gameplay? Could you taxi? Select payloads? Was there AWACS support? These questions ran through my head and I saw what ED had going on ~9 years ago. I too believe that ED is a great company producing a great sim and they have my full support. -KILSEK -
Hi all. Agreed. It will turn on a dime and give you nine cents change. Some of the best times I have had are starting out at 100nm, (try to) evade the MICA's, then get in there and goto gunz. Good times!!! -KILSEK

What is realistic missile effectiveness setting?

Hi all. No way, leave the slider. It's all about having the "choice to choose" (UH, UMM, yeah that what I meant). If anything have a detail next with each notch that says exactly what it is representing. For example, 10%= a misslefest, if you get hit it is because you flew into the missile, 50%=the most realistic for all missiles, 60%=?, 70%=?, 80%=? 90%=? 95.5%? 100%=all missiles behaving as though they are in a controlled live fire exercise with all conditions perfect. How ECM/flares/chaff affect missiles should not be a part of the slider equasion, but how they affect the missile slider. What would be interesting is if there was a formula that said if you have the missile slider at 100%-20%(someone using ECM) -5%(for each flare/chaff you launch)= ?. Alot of folks would have their doubts answered. Of course then maybe there are so many variables (just like in life) that such a formula is not possible. -KILSEK -
Hi all. Did you ever notice that in the F-15C and the Su-33, if you get into a dive and get betty to start screaming "maximum speed" your roll control do not respond properly? Pitch and yaw work, but roll control reverse themselves, L=R and R=L. Why is that? -KILSEK

Hi all. For me, it is work for the company(8 story addition to a local hospital), work for my Sister's/Bro-in Law's new house(2600 sq. ft. and a 30x40 pole barn), work for me(chores). Golf, bikes, and fishing???? HA- maybe next summer. I am not even close to losing interest in LO/FC. I am taking the day for me and playing all day. -KILSEK -

Hi all. kydius- Well, let me just say that my level of realism only needs to be so much. For me, I am happy "as a gopher in soft dirt" with accurately modeled weapon systems and physics. After that I want to mod things the way I choose. sunwolf- I backed up and then edited it the way I believe you are describing. No joy. I copied those entries and pasted them under the F-117 entry. The F-117 entry is followed by the B-52 entry so that should be the U.S.A. side and no luck. Would you, or anyone else who may have accomplished this, explain it it detail. Thanks, -KILSEK
