Most nights I host the squad missions for the 159th. My connnection is ~13Mbit down / 1 Mbit up. What connection settings would you guys recommend for lets say 10 clients? Both for the server, and for the clients. How much bandwidth does LO require per client? Does the complexity of the mission and/or the amount of stuff going on make a diffrence? If so, any idea how much? Are there known things a mission builder should avoid when creating a MP mission? The server uses a Max FPS cap which works great and keeps the % of CPU use in the 30's. So in theory our problems shouldn't be hardware related should they? Are there any other squadrons out there, and I'm not talking about the ones that have a 24/7 Hyperlobby server up and use a big fat business-type internet connection (which is unafforable for us hobbyists), with more then 10 members, who often fly online together? If so I wonder if and how you manage.... These multiplayer issues are really holding us back at the moment. Any tips and suggestions are more then welcome. A bottle of our squadrons drink (Yak Piss Vodka) for who-ever comes up with a working sollution! :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TkTbSDy_CY&mode=related&search= Check this out. According to the titel it should be a Su27 HUD cam, however if is an SU27 it is moving at rediculously slow speeds. I hear a constant whining noise while it's flying up high. My guess is that is a stall-whistle? Am I correct? Anyway, the video does not make much sence to me. I'm hoping one of you who speaks russian can translate some of the comms and can make sence of it all.

Who plays online and who does not.
Invicta replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I'd say 80% online, and of that, 80% training with my squad. -
You're most welcome :)

I chose flight. If you've ever flown in the 25T then you know that flying the fighters is very much arcade compared to the 25T with it's AFM. I like a challenge when I'm flying and right now this game has, from my point of view, 2 challenges: combat and flying the Rook. However, since I'm flying the SU33 almost exclusively, the flying part provides little challenge to me whatsoever. It's easy to land this bird in almost every condition, with loads of damage, in any weather. So no challenges there. In combat there are still challenges left. Combat is never the same. It's all about challenges. Hardly anyone here can say much about the accuracy of weapons and avionics in lockon, not one of us here has flown all the jets and not one of us knows the specs of all the weapon systems. And the weapon handling like it is now is challenging, and as far as I know, accurate enough. It's playable, it's fun, and it provides a challenge. The flight model however is not. Flying a SU33 is a piece of cake! Landing in 0 visibilty with a 20 m/s crosswind is easy. With an AFM this sim would instantly double the challenges for me as a fighter driver. Not only would I be tested in combat, but also in controling this enormous beauty of an aircraft. In my opion its all about adding stuff. Add an AFM to other aircraft and the sim grows. Changing avionics and weapons handling does just that, it changes the game.

Mods after Blackshark 1.2 installed
Invicta replied to deathcoffin's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It's probably wise to uninstall all mods before installing BS. After that I guess trial and error will teach us which mods still work and which won't. -
Can any body explain me this video?!?!?!
Invicta replied to volk-19's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Omg.. Now that is an impressive landing :D -
One other small bug I discovered just now... the nosewheel seems to turn the wrong way when applying rudder. :P *edit* Sorry Kuky, didn't see your earlier post.

Why hasn't this topic recieved any replies yet? By far the most original movie out there :D I think it would be impossible to recreate this movie with only one human pilot and rest AI pilots today. Great stuff. We've come a long way since then.

Dos Gringos are hilarious! A must have for every wannabe fighterpilot!

Sorry, didn't know Loman could handle rar as well as zip :P

How do I install this without risk of overwriting stuff? Is it safe to do it the way the readme.txt says? Can I uninstall it once installed?

I'm gonna upgrade soon. How old is windows XP anyway? 5 years??? Time to try something new if you ask me. Don't be afraid of the unknown guys ;)

Does this fix the dual core stuttering in Lockon? I now have to alt-tab out of the game, and manually set the Lockon.exe process to use only one core when I fly. I'm not really interested in a 3rd party program, but if AMD has a patch for this then I might give that a try. Sorry for this -for you useless- reply Graywo1fg :)

NEW WF-33 model (project) video!
Invicta replied to SVK_Fox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Nice movie, although it could be much better if you had come up with a storyline. 2 Other small things that bothered me were the 'bruce willis' pilotname on the cockpit, and overkill of smoke (which was generated somewhere halfway the fusalage). -
Anyone got the urge to do a couple before-after comparison shots?

Wow, having seen the real Blue Angels no more then 2 weeks ago, I must say that your show is really close to the real thing! Excellent flying. -
