  1. for fuel, you should never have to take the big bags. If I'm trying to conserve fuel, I fly between 24k - 27k altitude and 4 degrees aoa.
  2. It doesn't work right, it's supposed to add an additional display, so like you always have that sight on, but devs didn't implement it correctly. I filed an issue with it a while back.
  3. Not a bug, it's in the manual. Feel free to read it once.
  4. It also helps to study the map first, use the satellite view and pay attention to landmarks around your target. Video is worse than an FPV drone.
  5. Well don't tell anyone, I want it that way.
  6. It might also be your hotas setup. Make sure your switches for the engine are turned to the operating state.
  7. Yea, I think its because you can't set the north/south. I recommend a workaround, which is copy/paste a different one (say 58) and then adjust.
  8. I just used them a couple days ago, everything worked fine.
  9. It was useful for me, roland was attacking and I flipped to SP and took it out.
  10. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do that. That's the intake for the jet engine, the thing runs on liquid jet fuel, so it definitely wouldn't be getting up to those speeds. The missile can achieve speeds of Mach 0.9 in cruise and Mach 1.4 during its terminal phase. I've only ever seen it go around 0.9 in DCS though.
  11. That's interesting. I used to be able to designate further than that with the HUD, but recently tried it again and it didn't work, so I assumed it was broken. If it only works within 10nm that would make sense, but yes you used to be able to designate further than that.
  12. It would, in fact, I believe some of the leaked manuals for the S300 mention that it can't track those things, but yet here we are, they increase the RCS of these things in game so they can be tracked. Also the new "evade harms" thing - there's no evidence that's even happening IRL.
  13. It's a new photo of a RAAD on a Block II JF-17 (#211).
  14. if you have a mission with multiple ships, you can actually see the RCS sizes are different, the bricks will be either larger or smaller.
  15. now we need the RAAD
  16. It should be slaved to the radar at first without a lock, but once launched it will try to keep that IR lock.
  17. I just press 'D' on the keyboard, and use it that way. I'm sure you could bind that to something. Just look out for which one is selected, as when you switch modes, it seems to prefer the leftmost pylon, which could leave you with two missiles on the right and none on the left, so your aircraft would be unbalanced (could be useful if you are in a right hand turn?) Use the NWS button to switch the active pylon.
  18. It's not made to lock onto ships, and probably won't do much damage, but I believe it should be set to more than 15m.
  19. I've seen it get about 70nm range, for a target that large.
  20. just use wpt1-18 for plan A, and wpt19-36 as B. In F10, just use the timestamps, and anything entered after FP-B gets to be part of FP-B.
  21. One thing I noticed, is that the tgp aligns for a while if you leave the radar off after takeoff, not sure if this is intended. The laser rockets should be beam riding, so you're likely not going to be targeting something behind you while firing rockets, they can't pull that many Gs.
  22. It uses the radar to stabilize, so if you point your radar away from the locked point, it will destabilize.
  23. Try 'instant action'. Once you know the basics, you can get training that way.
  24. You don't even have to open the cockpit, just push in the data cartridge. It'll already be loaded. It's not put in, probably because you might want to change your loadout before you load the DTC. Even then you don't need to open the cockpit and have them update the DTC, it'll already be updated.
