I can't seem to bug a target that's jamming so I can shoot off a HOJ. Anyone else have that issue?

I assume it's because they're doing small batches, probably made when you order it, or in very small quantities. It takes scale to get the prices down that much.

[FIXED] WMD7 Pod location in Context menu
Napillo replied to skywalker22's topic in Bugs and Problems
I thought the Aselsan targeting pod was the one on the JF-17? https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/nigerian-air-force-using-targeting-pod-with-jf-17 -
You know, it would be possible to mount 3 more SD-10 if they delayed ignition of the rocket by 1.5 - 2 seconds. 9.8 m/sec/sec it should be about 7.5 - 9.8 meters away from the aircraft when ignited...

That one looks like an Iranian F-4 livery more than a Jeff livery.
-
It's worse than one of those FPV drones, which looking at the size of the DL pod, you should get a lot better picture.
-
lol ok then... If it was notched, the missile should just keep going where it was going, my guess is it was still receiving guidance from datalink, and the INS was off a bit. If the radar turns on, it shouldn't continue to receive from datalink.

there is no such thing

It's usually going to be someone's second or third aircraft purchase, if that, unless you grew up in Pakistan, you probably haven't heard of it until it was released in DCS. I fly it around 90% of the time. I've also bought the module several times as gifts. It's a great plane, and if your friends play DCS, gift it to them, and show them how it works. They'll appreciate it. The main complaints I saw was that it's not as fast as the F-16, and it can't carry a lot of missiles. I can't argue with that, they're different aircraft, so use them different and treat them different. The F-16 is great at engaging air targets, not so good at everything else, though it can do kinda everything. The Jeff is excellent at finding air targets, good at engaging them, and not great in a dogfight, but it's great at ground attack, and sead. Those three screens really help, especially since they're so large, you can really use them to your advantage. The MAWS has saved me countless times, and the fact that it's so easy to use, everything is integrated, the human machine interface is excellent. I also like the approach mode, and the DST system. I've had to use TA mode on the radar sometimes when flying in low clouds, something not many aircraft can do. The SPJ how you can pinpoint ground targets is great, and the GMTI is wonderful for finding those pesky tanks on the move. If you have your tpod slaved to the radar, you can even fire laser guided rockets at the GMTI tracked target. Plus, the IFF on the thing even will recognize ground targets if you have it in mode 3. The Betty isn't yelling at you, she's like a friend going 'might want to drop some flares here'. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Jeff.

That depends on how you fly it, I see people all the time carrying tanks and coming home with 3000lbs fuel. I run mine down to the fuel warning and then head back, 4000 lbs fuel is plenty enough, and bags add enough weight and drag I avoid using them except in the most extreme cases, like when I'm flying from Anapa to Sochi. Even then, if I keep my aoa around 3 and just cruise around 90% rpm I'll get there with enough fuel to stay on station for about 10 minutes.

JF-17 Won't rearm/refuel no matter what i do.

Try instant action cold and dark. If that works, it's the server, not the module. -
the exhaust would get ingested into the engine, which is bad.

ASM/NAM and DTT do not alert the other aircraft, other than they may be able to detect that they're being scanned faster than usual. RWS is great because you can see more targets (dont need to track them just see them), and because it doesn't need a track, you can lock quicker, and can get a higher range. TWS requires you to use either 'hi' or 'med' PRF not both, so it's a bit more limited, the maximum lock range is less. VS is velocity search, and going from that to a lock, it puts the target into STT, so they'll get notified by their RWR, someone is spiking you. It has the longest range out of all the modes, but since it goes directly into an STT, they'll know. However, you can switch the STT back into a TWS or ASM/NAM/SAM mode.

[FIXED] TDC cursor in DBS1/2 mode is too sensitive
Napillo replied to aerojet029's topic in Bugs and Problems
try DBS1 and DBS2, it is a lot worse there. You can't get any fine control in DBS2, DBS1 you have to nudge very slightly. -
I saw in a GR video that there is a mod to make it Block 3... I couldn't get the mod to work, and there's barely any installation instructions. Has anyone got this working? I don't care if it doesn't work online, I just want to try it out. Link to video:

[CHK] WMD7 Pod Looses Lock and Resets in MP only
Napillo replied to Pavlin_33's topic in Bugs and Problems
You can't point track a dead target. -
that doesn't seem to do anything. I think it should update the cueing, but it doesnt.
-
It's not though, the fact is, a larger antenna can pick up weaker signals - that's a fact.
-
Yea, the SD10 is only 9 years newer, so of course technology hasn't changed much in 9 years between 1996 and 2005, no nothing at all changed in that time. There's no way the SD-10 could have more advanced processors and power supplies, and antenna designs..
-
they need the track file without the mods.

The diameter of the AIM-120 (hence its radar sensor maximum area) is 7 inches. That equals about a 38.5 square inches sensor. The SD-10 / PL-12 on the other hand, diameter is 7.9 inches, which equals around 49 square inches. Theoretically, that gives the SD-10 / PL-12 about 27% more sensitivity than an AIM-120, and that's assuming the same radar emitter power.
