  1. The patch apparently needs 1.0 installed at this point, so Uninstall 1.02 patch (or uninstall everything and reinstall 1.0) to get back to BS 1.0. Then install BS 2.0 patch. You'll now have 1.0 and 2.0 installed. Repatch your 1.0 back to 1.02 for FC2 compatibility or delete it if you don't need it. Or skip all the trouble, give up on FC2 and buy the $40 version to be ready for DCS and help out ED! :) No, but 1.02 will retain it. So if you "patch" BS1.02 you'll end up with two games installed. BS 1.02 for FC2 flights and BS2 for DCS flights.
  2. I don't know anyone that still flies FC2, so just going to stick with the BS2 install for now.

    Default I think?
  5. Wags already posted new screenshots.
  6. Wow, test failed! :) Great video, but I'd suggest getting a headset instead of making YouTube videos through a surplus drive through speaker. heh
  7. I'm so proud that a few times I've reached to turn off autopilot and instead turned it on - I'd trimmed my Hawg so well I thought it was on autopilot!
  8. Yeah, he left the trailing ) from the URL, just add that back and you'll see the charts. :)
  9. What Speed said. :) For the Georgia area map we play on it'll always be 37T or 38T and that line is around <insert proper grid line here>. For many missions it won't be a problem, but sometimes it will if you start in one and attack targets in the other. I'll try to find the post that tells exactly where the line is. Found the link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1246067&postcount=7
  10. Ahh, that's probably why this mission has never worked for me! :) I'll try it again via keyboard.
  11. The missing 0 from UTM coords was a rare bug correct, but it has nothing to do with knowing which spheroid you're in, 37T or 38T, which is what cichlidfan and I were talking about. So even after the next patch you're still going to have to know that the spheroid changed as described in this post. If you get that wrong, even with the missing 0's your targets will still be off.
  12. There needs to be An App for That™! :)
  13. I love and I hate that game. Like I played a level or two at work and came up with elegant and beautiful quick solutions. Tried it at home and was like an infant banging a shoe and a pot together trying to get the TV to turn on. You're not getting bad information, you're assumed as a pilot to know that a grid with MM is in one spheroid while a grid with LL is in another. It's not missing, it's assumed core knowledge. Now, getting you that information so that it's core knowledge for you is missing, but that's not the JTAC's fault! heh
  14. In a single player mission an hour long ingress might be somewhat OK, but even some MP missions out now with 50 mile ingress take too long to get back into the action. One guy dies and instead of a team game now you have a bunch of guys all playing single player since they can't work as a team anymore due to being split up and running out of fuel. Downtime in games, even sims, isn't a good thing. :)
  15. Actually, no. :) That's how deep this sim goes. Much of what's in this change log I'd never even heard of till I saw it here! heh
  16. Tell these guys that, heh: :music_whistling: I'm guessing F-14 pilots had less helmet paint regulations? Can't find any painted F-16 helmets, but tons of F-14 ones.
  17. Totally want this helmet!
  18. Just noticed I have enough points for $15 off certificate from BB, so maybe I'll pick up a copy tomorrow. :)
  19. Whatever for? Older software or something? Even then just run a 32bit virtual machine. I've been running 64bit since Win 7 came out and have never had a problem with compatibility or anything (outside of betas that is). 64bit runs so much better than 32bit ever did.
  20. In a real world setting I imaging not, but as a computer game the full screen "straight down" snapview of the CDU is a LOT easier to use than switching between UFC/MFD snapviews or leaning forward to try to use them both in cockpit. Than again my eyes suck. :joystick:
  21. CDU is vital at all stages of a mission. I'm constantly putting in new waypoints when new coordinates are given by ground forces. The Multiple JDAM flight plan trick. Marking something on the TAD then making a waypoint to it. The DIVERT page for finding the nearest airport. The STEERPOINT page for checking if I'm on target with my next waypoint. Checking for ILS/TCAN/AM frequencies for airports. There's a ton of post takeoff use for the CDU. But don't NOT play the game because you haven't read most of the manual. You'll learn a lot of stuff as you play or as other pilots tell you tricks. Just fly what you know now and addon to that knowledge later. Study as you sim, not in preparation for it. :)
  22. Good document, but I prefer this more simple diagram than a full page table I need to read: Bold = long Taken from toby23's document pack.
  23. Permissions and the silly shadow folder things mostly. Any game where you're going to mod it simply doesn't need to deal with all those things. Running the game as administrator just to get it to work, having files appear in some strange roaming hidden folder but acting like they are in Program Files, not being able to change files easily. It's much easier to just install somewhere where you'll have full control over the game files instead of having to work around and fight the OS to make changes. :joystick:
  24. Your sarcasm meter seems to be misaligned. Have your crew chief inspect it when you land.
  25. I think it's that it works either just for the host or just for the first pilot to contact it? My group has taken to using player AFACs when we need some guidance.
