  1. Risk, do you fly online? If not, do it, that is a challenge right there. Nothing is always the same, it's much better to with with and against human players then the AI.
  2. There are plenty of other buttons to press when I'm flying and fighting. Not a big deal for me to do a cold start every time I fly the bird, that's just how I see it.
  3. No to both of your questions. You need your radar on to see if someone is using their jammer. The AIM-7 is a sarh guided missile, meaning it needs the aircrafts radar to guide it to it's target. Without the aircrafts radar, the AIM-7 is blind.
  4. Our jets in Guam had 5 minutes to be airborne. The pilots stayed at the alert facility which was about 100 yards from the alert jets. That siren would go off and they'd bust out that door, still putting their flight suit on :megalol: fun times. You forgot about the people that wear helmets and gloves. I can cold start the BS, but I never do, why when I can press 2 buttons and it starts automatically, while I go get a snack and a drink. I'll learn how to cold start every DCS jet I buy, but not sure how many times I'll actually do it.
  5. Why is that, the base in Arizona is the A-10 training base.
  6. I agree with you hajduk, there are lots of things that can be made. The F-35 program is already cost a ton of money.
  7. Guess I'll be seeing a lot of people disconnecting when I start flying :D
  8. You can feel that way all you want, but that doesn't mean you are right. There are a lot of calculations that go into being able to glide. You have airspeed, thrust, fuel weight and munitions weight. You would be surprised at some things that happen when they aren't suppose to.
  9. You got the same thing huh.
  10. Won't know how the monitor does until out try it out. I have a 26 inch monitor and it sits about 3 feet away from me. It works really well, but may be upgrading to a 36+ inch TV when I get back home. My pit is looking like it's gonna be in my bedroom and the wife wants a TV in there.
  11. So, you are scared? Can't wait to get back and join in on the mp player fun. You guys are gonna have to take it easy on me, haven't played in over a year.
  12. Looking good so far. What gear do you have....HOTAS, monitor...etc...?
  13. That's the thing, do you know what the glide ratio is for it?
  14. Marcos, I'm sure the F-35 can glide just fine. Depending on altitude and your speed, will determine how far you can glide. The F-16 glides like a brick, but it can still deadstick a landing if need be. I'm sure the F-35 is no different. Now I see why that guy was upset with you in the other thread.
  15. Great movie, worth the wait!
  16. The only way is to select the wp you want to go to and go straight at it. There is no enroute or return mode, your landing mode is ILS, once you are within a certain distance from the base.
  17. It took me years to get where I'm at and I still suck! :megalol:
  18. Look at the mission briefing and see what the waypoints/steerpoints are. You may need to write this info down somewhere or if you can remember it, that is better. Most mission briefings are pretty easy to remember stuff, as there isn't too many wp's. If wp 4 and 7 are airfields, just select them in NAV mode to see what direction they are and how far away you re from them. The NAV mod in NATO aircraft is pretty simple.
  19. That's a short time, keep at it and things will slowly come together.
  20. I watched a show on netflix the other night talking about UAV's and other robotic military machines. From the Predator to the Global Hawk, they have come a long way. I remember when I first saw the Predator, it was back in 2001 at a live fire near Nellis AFB. It was flying at around 15,000-20,000 feet and it was recording the crowd. It displayed the image on a big screen TV they had out there and it was pretty amazing the resolution it had from that height.
  21. Nope, I haven't seen the compressor. I think we are still a long way off from having a star wars take off jet. I was just saying that I'm sure the engineers thought of all sorts of things trying to make this work better. Those have got to be some of the smartest dumb people on earth.
  22. http://www.aviano.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123334173
  23. We are losing all sorts of people also, but expected to do the same...if not more.
  24. Certain aircraft will not be available to other countries because of the advanced options they have or there mission. Bombers come to mind the most, B-1, B2, B-52 and F-117's.
