  1. Stall speed depends on configuration, weight and bank angle. Clean, at 35k weight, 0 bank angle its about 120 kts Landing gear and flaps 20 degrees, 25k weight, 0 bank angle its about 90 kts
  2. She's broke. Snag it and get a new one.
  3. That would be appreciated boarder2! Thank you. :)
  4. Wish I had caught it before I spent the $.
  5. Does this work in DCS 2.0 alpha/beta?
  6. There are times your body will sense a motion before your eyes will detect it. I use the example of a tail dragger such as a Beech 18. On the ground you would feel it starting to yaw before you saw it. I would not have wanted to fly (take-off and landing) that airplane without having had the real physical sensations.
  7. Wish it said this on the app store page... Here are the listed requirements: System Requirements: - DCS World with A-10C Addon - Microsoft Windows - iControl DCS Server available at http://www.bit-shift.com/ - Due to limitations in the simulator, live MFCDs must be repeated on your monitor. - Due to limitations in the simulator, the sim will be forced to run in full screen windowed mode Probably should add a note in here that it wont work with 2.0 alpha/beta.
  8. Just bought the app. Can't get it to work. I only have DCS 2.0. I see here: http://bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html Attention - DCS World alpha and beta releases are not supported at this time. When new stable versions are released, the server software will be updated as soon as possible to support the new stable version if necesary. Any idea when will 2.0 be supported? Would love to use the app...
  9. The DCS A-10C is imo the definition of a study sim. You know the saying: How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I think you could change that saying to read: How do you eat a Hawg? One bite at a time. :book:
  10. Also if you want DirectX12 it is exclusive to W10.
  11. Happy with W10 here.
  12. Don't come in too fast. Read up on the "angle of attack indexer" page 130 of the manual. As shown in Flamin_Squirrel's post above ^ (ON SPEED). Also remember to turn on nose wheel steering after decelerating through 70kts.
  13. Technically the speed brakes according to the manual should extended to 40% in the landing configuration and then select speed brakes 100% immediately after touchdown. In flight a limit switch limits the speed brakes to 80%. A squat switch on the left main gear allows 100% deployment on the ground. So it should be 40% speed brake on approach and then on touchdown you thumb the speed brakes to the fully open 100% position to help slow down.
  14. I put together a simple AAR mission for use in 2.0. Nevada. Want to just hop in and practice connecting to the tanker? Airborne start. Daytime. Tanker is 1/2 nm in front of you. No wasted time trying to locate and intercept the tanker, No surprises. Just a straight forward practice mission to hone your AAR skills. A beautiful early morning mission with the sun just rising over the Arizona sky. The tanker is established at your A-10's optimum speed and altitude for AAR. 220 KIAS and 15,000'. On an extended 400 nm track. You will have 1 hour and 25 minutes with the tanker in straight and level flight before it turns onto its southbound leg near Fallon NV, and RTB's to Nellis AFB. Labels are on. Includes PDF document with AAR tips and suggestions. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1795805/
  15. Completely agree with you Jughedjones. The vids linked in the above post ^ are excellent. Lots of good info. Well done Kmbtkrl!
  16. ~S~
  17. Very true. But also what WelshZeCorgi said a few posts ago^. He hit the nail bang dead center on the head. I am hopeful that the Oculus Rift will go a little ways towards making AAR somewhat easier in our simulated world vs the 2d window of our flat monitor. Me doing AAR--> :joystick::yes::eek::badmood::pilotfly::doh::thumbup::poster_oops::censored::notworthy:
  18. How many pause TIR when refueling from the tanker?
  19. AIM-9 To lock the seeker on to a target, you have several options: a) Boresight: Uncage seeker with china hat fwd short b) Target set as SPI, Slave all to SPI with China Hat Fwd Long c) Initiate a seeker conical scan with TMS Fwd Short Notes: 2. When the missile has acquired a target, the tone changes to a higher pitched 'growl'. The pitch will vary according to the quality of the IR lock. 3. Boresight mode: (default) Seeker fixed to boresight line. When attacking a target in boresight mode, uncage seeker prior to launch to confirm seeker has a good lock. Seeker will track if IR intensity is strong enough; otherwise seeker will start to drift and will need to be recaged. Manoeuvre aircraft to place reticle over target for a valid lock prior to launch. 4. Uncaged mode: Seeker no longer bound to boresight line and floating around the scan zone. 5. Conical scan mode: Seeker performs a conical scan pattern around boresight line to cover a greater volume of airspace ahead of aircraft. 6. HOTAS commands, Track =TMS fwd , Break Lock =TMS aft , Missile Reject =China Hat aft , Uncage Seeker = China Hat fwd.
  20. This is nice! Mounted on the front of Rift makes sense. Looks VERY promising. In fact wouldn't it make sense if Leap Motion was bought by Zuckerburg and Co. and Oculus Rift 2.0 included this technology as a built in feature of the headset?
  21. Did I miss it again?? Do svidaniya! ;)
  22. Have you looked at this thread for multiplayer? http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=93 :harhar:
  23. Nice idea. I would go for the generic small airport islands. (sinkable carriers would be nice one day) Oh and Ginger btw. ;)
  24. Sweet!
  25. Thanks for setting this up dabomb!
