  1. Well I did have a nice wind speed direction cue from all the smoke billowing from the wreckage of an earlier A-10... clipped the tower with wingtip... ;) It would be nice to see the dirt and dust blowing across the ramp along with the trees and bushes bent over. Windsocks would also be nice close to runway!
  2. Part 1: Part 2: Cheers :)
  3. :)
  4. Another video with the wind. This time hovering and backwards flight.
  5. Thanks guys Batumi is perfect.
  6. Can you guys help me out? Which airport in the DCS A-10C world has the tallest control tower? Thanks!
  7. Absolutely! If (as in this flight) you have no turbulence. In r/l with 100kts of wind you are going to get significant mechanical turbulence as the wind is disturbed by the terrain, buildings, trees, etc etc. In this demo flight I set it with 100kts of wind and no turbulence. As Yo-Yo suggests setting a realistic turbulence which would be associated with such strong winds would be VERY exciting. (read suicidal)
  8. I was surprised by the physics (shame on me) which allowed for the aircraft to be sailed backwards as long as I hung enough stuff out in the breeze. Flaps had to be fully extended and full airbrakes deployed. The backwards motion could be controlled by manipulating the airbrake! Tring to turn and taxi back to takeoff position resulted in the wind blowing the aircraft over and crash/burn. Having been flying in r/l for nearly 30 years, I have to say the more time I spend with it the more I find this sim simply amazing. DCS A-10C is a true masterpiece.
  9. Emerg Floodlights. They are powered off the batt bus.
  10. Pushing the limits with the amazing DCS A-10C Warthog. The question: With the wind blowing 100 knots directly across the runway can the A-10C make a safe landing and takeoff with out suffering any damage? Cheers! :pilotfly: Lobo
  11. Just flew a 2 hour 32 min flight. Checking out the AoA indicator and the max range, max endurance and landing markings. Very kewl. Tried it low tried it high. Did some basic navigation HUD work and and fiddling with the CDU. Displaying winds aloft, ground speed, did some diverts, approaches, and NOE flight. Burned 10,300 lbs of fuel, landed with 800lbs remaining and both fuel low level caution lights on. Taxied to the ramp and shut down with a big smile on my face. Awesome SIM! Had a great flight and I never even turned the master arm on!
  12. When finished using external ground power, I request ground man to disconnect which he does. I request and get taxi clearance from ATC and ground man freaks out. "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" What am I doing? whats it look like Im doing? I am taxiing fer the runway, ya better unplug! ;)
  13. Hi I want to mount the warthog stick with a 15 degree offset to the left to accommodate center mounting. I do not want to lose the plug and play profile capability that comes with the TMWH and DCS A10... Thrustmaster Tech support tells me that I can adjust the rotation in the Target GUI but they do not say how other than use the green arrow. "However, this can also be achieved by using the TARGET GUI, by clicking on the green arrow next to each axis in the axis selection window." I want to offset the rotation of stick without having to reprogram every command for use in DCS A-10. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  14. Check out this thread: did wonders for my loading time http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1167923&highlight=Change+line+73%2C74+C%3A%5CProgram+Files%5CEagle+Dynamics%5CDCS+NOTEPAD#post1167923 We now resume our previously scheduled program on SAM EVASION. ;)
  15. Quite frankly I feel guilty having only paid $60 for this masterpiece. IMO the only thing this sim is missing is the dome. Of course the truth be told I'm sure most of us have done a few hardware upgrades to run this sim. The TMWH set me back $500 all by itself and it was worth every penny. So to answer your question...
  16. TIR. Head G OFF.
  17. Just watched the vid. Toss bombing in the A-10... kinda funny. ;) Absolutely love the new in cockpit shadows though! Two thumbs up! Thanks for the update.
  18. The throttle inkage on the TM WH was put there by TM so that if you are flying a single engine airplane you can link the throttles to become one solid throttle. In a twin engine plane the throttles are always separate. ie not linked.
  19. Maybe this is where the mission designers can help by creating realistic threat enviroments where the Hawg would actually do business? Or in a high threat scenario have a strike package to help peel the threats back so the Hawg can git-r-done.
  20. I noticed no gap here. Of course I could have been distracted by the "Split S" departure & popping of flares behind the tanker... 8) http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=574_1300096331
  21. I think they have exactly what you want here: http://www.airforce.com/opportunities/enlisted/ ;)
  22. 1) Left the airplane alone for about 45 min. Auto-pilot off. Left it in a nose high stalled condition. Expected it to crash within a few minutes. The aircraft proved quite quite stable both statically and dynamically. Eventually entering a hands off, gentle, climbing turn. I suppose based on the wing design this should not have been a surprise. 2) Climb above FL260. Now maybe you all have seen this but for the first time I noticed twin jet engine contrails being produced by my A-10. Descended below 26,000' and contrails stopped. Not wingtip vortices but engine contrails! Impressed.
  23. Nice thump when you jettison weps.
  24. Comms for chocks. +1
