That'll be where I was going wrong with HTCC and VD. I was certain I had it working and I guess I turned this on afterwards.

This isn’t a Slugmouse thing. The slugmouse just provides the mouse button clicks. This is a DCS / HTCC thing. Try the VR controller setting in HTCC instead of tablet mode. Also I believe there is a way to have a fixed cursor where your head is pointing but I’ve not looked into that. Alternatively, practice makes perfect.

I was on v65, no issues. Now on v66 (PTC), still no issues.

My mistake. HTCC does not appear to work with VD.

Yes, I’m pretty sure it does work with VD. I don’t usually use VD but when I did last week I’m pretty sure I had it working. I’ll double check tomorrow. For developer mode you just need to create a developer account. Nothing to it really, just an account like many others. Once you’ve created it you can forget about it.

Excellent. Thanks for updating us.

You can remove it easily by just pulling the hat off. You’d be left with a short stub. Alternatively, I could should be able to make a shorter one. Best to try it out first though as you might find it suitable as it.

Quest 3 eye strain - but not on Rift, Rift S, Reverb G2
slughead replied to Aerovenator's topic in Virtual Reality
I'd get an eye test. -
If you're trying to control switches directly with your fingers as you would in real life, then nothing works well for this currently. I tried this and gave up quickly, so I put my order in for pointctrl, which tracks your hands (not fingers) and controls the mouse pointer position through where you position your hand. You then click buttons mounted to your fingers to perform mouse clicks. However, almost two years later, I was still waiting for my order to be ready. So, I made my own devices to perform the mouse clicks using the Quest hand tracking and a piece of software called HTCC to position the mouse. Here is a video of me doing a ramp start using two of the devices that I've dubbed the Slugmouse. Further details of this here:

Hard to say from the photo but are the three wheel indicators lit on your viper? Or is that light bleed from the back light? Try extending the parking brake and see if the column of 5 leds light and send the logs for that please. Also, could you try on a daylight mission. Say just one of the ready on ramp instant missions.
-
If you’re asking me I don’t use either of those devices. Just the finger mounted Slugmouse and hand tracking VR headset. That’s all there is in the Slugmouse demonstration video other than what’s on the desk (keyboard, HOTAS, regular mouse).

How do you mean? Yeah. It took 24 months before I received my pointctrl "ready" notice. By that time, I had made the Slugmouse.

Yeah, my networking is 17ms and upwards. I'd need a dedicated router. What router are you using?
-
The problem is the network frame times, mainly in the amber. All others are okay. Hence, it's a network issue.
-
Don't worry. I've sorted it to a degree. I was using my machine as a hotspot. I switched to my router, which has improved it dramatically but still has some stutters and network delays. I think that can only be resolved with a dedicated gaming router. That's something I am not willing to fork out for to try out VD with DCS.
-
Hey @Qcumber, can you share the DCS and VD settings that you were using so that I can compare?
-
I couldn't see any chatter about it on their discord. Oculus Link works great for me. No more audio jitters since a few releases ago.
-
I thought I'd give Virtual Desktop another go. It's a stutter fest, and frame rates are unstable. How are people saying this is great / better than Oculus Link? Is there a tuning guide somewhere? For the life of me, I can't find anything official. I'm running a 13900 and a 4090 with 64GB RAM.
